• Most of the employees wore smiles and were willing to help with anything.
• Two of the front desk personnel made us feel we were bothering them.

“Excellent physical facility with many attractions we did not use. We had a plumbing problem and the employee sent to fix the problem did a quick and good job smiling the whole time. Well located for downtown Boston and Cambridge.”

• $22 parking.

“This hotel was fantastic! The staff was friendly and helpful! The room was great (comfortable, nicely decorated, and full of amenities). The only drawback was $22 parking, but this is the norm in Boston. We checked out on Sunday, but planned to leave our car in the parking garage. The staff was kind enough to tell me to move my car to the on street parking which is free on Sunday. This saved us a few $$. The free breakfast was very nice and included hot foods and a chance to make your own Belgian waffles. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is close to the Subway and bus lines. Kendall Station is about a block and a half away. This made getting to from Fen way and Downtown Boston a breeze. Great overnight accommodation. I wish we were staying longer, but we will return in the future.”

• The room was spacious. The staff was helpful, the location was convenient.
• Not enough staff for breakfast on a really busy day.

“We were delighted with our stay at the Residence Inn in Cambridge. The staff was exceptionally helpful, there was free access to the internet in the lobby, it was a few short blocks to public transportation, and the room was spacious beyond belief. The breakfast had numerous options and was a great way to start the day. We contemplated moving in permanently!”

• The location was ideal to both Cambridge and Boston.
• The staff member didn't even offer the use of a hotel phone to make the toll free call.

“Really an ideal location on the red line of the Boston transit system. A nice area of town to be in, that will hopefully see a few more restaurants develop closer by.”

“This is a nice Residence Inn not far from the Longfellow Bridge There isn't much within walking distance, and you'd need a car to go anywhere. The rooms are quite new and clean. The breakfast included is reasonably good, but parking costs $22 a day.”

• Perfect location for all activities planned in Cambridge and Boston.

“This hotel was great! It was only minutes away from the jazz club that my fianc and I went to. There was a free shuttle available in close proximity (2 minute walk) to the hotel to take people to the Galleria Mall. From the Galleria Mall it was a short train ride to Quincy Market. The hotel was perfect and I would definitely stay there again. Oh, the complimentary breakfast offered choices for every palate, but it was just okay.”

“I would recommend it to anyone, with flying colors. For the very reasonable price (for Cambridge), you get free internet access; all-night tea/coffee both downstairs and in room; an all-you-can eat, full-buffet breakfast; loads of cable TV channels; a beautifully-decorated room in modern vibrant colors, popcorn/candy/tea in a fully-furnished kitchen area, copious work and bathroom space, friendly staff. And everything sparkles clean. We were delighted.”

“Facilities were great, with well-appointed suites which included refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and toaster. When we were there I assume the hotel was being used as university graduate housing for MIT, which was either refreshing or a non-issue, depending on perspective.”

“The hotel was beautiful. Breakfast was included, but was very average (good selection but McDonald's quality). We would have a had a great stay but there was no heat (it was broken in our room) and they could not move us to another room.”

• The toilet wouldn't flush and overflowed.

• They claimed to only have down pillows (allergies)!

“All is all excellent. Room was recently redecorated. Didnt have that "hotel smell. Complimentary hot breakfast was worth at least $15 for 2 people. My only complaint is when I discovered all the pillows were down/feather that the front desk staff (at 11 pm) was unable to locate even one fiberfill pillow in the entire hotel!”

“The staff was very helpful and made us feel welcomed. The rooms are beautiful and spacious; especially for the price. The kitchen and hide-a-bed couch made it very easy for us to stay there with our 3-year-old daughter. The full, free breakfast was another plus (again, especially for the price). The free internet access was great and they had a terrific cable channel selection (PBS and Disney! Two you don't always find in hotels).”

• We had a very noisy evening with no one from staff to quiet the guests.

“We had a great stay for our college touring. Most all the front desk staff was extremely helpful. Unfortunately one evening was awful-guests in the hall between 2-4am and no one on staff would come up to quiet them. They did however refund our money for that evenings' stay.”

• Nothing - the hotel was perfect.

“Located steps from the MIT campus, this hotel, while the "lower" end of the Marriot chain, is magnificent in every respect. The rooms are spacious suites, beautifully appointed, with superbly comfortable beds and even down pillows. The bathroom and kitchen were new, spotless and well appointed, with even a "welcome" package. The all-included breakfast was a delicious spread, with everything from cereals (hot & cold), mass quantities of fresh fruits, breads (bagels, muffins and do-it-yourself waffles) to eggs, sausage and home fries. I recently stayed at the 5-star Intercontinental Hotel in Boston, where you could not even get a cup of hot tea unless you paid $4 in the dining room or called room service. Frankly, I'd stay at this Residence Inn over and over - it was as comfortable as the Intercontinental, with greater amenities.”

• Location and cleanliness was excellent. Morning breakfast was outstanding!
• Lobby was sort of utilitarian.

“Excellent location in Cambridge---about 2 blocks from T Station on the MIT campus with Harvard being 2 stations away. Great complimentary breakfast and afternoon receptions, and very clean suite rooms. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Boston area.”

• Family-friendly hotel with helpful staff, clean and big rooms in a great location.
• Not well-marked on the street. We passed it a few times.

“This was an outstanding hotel that served our purposes perfectly. We are a family with two young children and we entertained old friends in the big rooms and had pizza delivered. Guests commented on how lovely the hotel was and we'd definitely stay here again. Hot buffet breakfast was also terrific and kids loved it.”

• Noise from the renovate plan.

“The staffs are friendly. The room is huge with nice equipped kitchen, stove, microwave, fridge etc, really a family friendly place. One more thing I like about this hotel is that their bed is way much better and comfortable, compared to my previous experience in Hyatt Regency Cambridge. Also, free wireless and breakfast are hard to beat. Parking for one day is about $20-$25 depends on the public parking or hotel's. But during weekend, not too hard to find a street parking. Overall, this hotel is beyond our expectation.”

• The rooms were large and bright. Comfortable bed. Nice water pressure in the showers. Even the kitchen was very clean.

“It provides an average, unobtrusive stay. There were no difficulties in finding it on the first time, or getting back to it after a day out. It is in a safe area, right next to a red line T stop. Breakfast is provided, so guests begin their days well fed. Nothing really stuck out, amazing or terrible. It provided the basic comforts, cleanliness, and safety needed to focus on the attractions of Boston.”

• I loved the kitchen inside the unit - I was not expecting it and it was a welcome surprise.
• I was highly unhappy that a $20 a day parking cost that was not disclosed in the information on the hotel website.

“Very comfortable and clean. Nice free breakfast buffet, and the desk staff was highly helpful in getting around the area (transportation, restaurant suggestions, attractions, etc.).”

“The rooms were clean and well kept. It was a little difficult to access with a car. The room had a kitchen which was nice and refrigerator. The buffet in the morning was excellent, included morning papers (Sunday times and globe) and free wireless internet. Excellent stay. There was some renovation in the public rooms.”

• Parking was expensive, but that is to be expected.

“I had a very good experience at this hotel; the room was lovely, and huge for the price. The staff was all very friendly. Although I did not take advantage of this, the hotel offered a free hot buffet breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• We had use of a studio apartment, very nice surprise.
• The hot breakfast buffet was not hot, or tasty. The food was dry and cold.

“I liked the hotel room very much, a lot of space, and a kitchen to use. The breakfast was pretty bad, after trying some of the "hot" food I opted for the prepackaged foods like yogurt and cereal and milk. The staff was also friendly. Another disappointment had to pay $20 for parking. I know it was Cambridge area, but $20 was too much for the night.”

• Continental breakfast was terrible, the staff fought openly in front of us and closed the food service down in front of us; poor presentation of food.

“This hotel was under construction during my stay and the hot tub was broken. The hot breakfast was poorly stocked and we were made to feel that we were in the way when I asked for bowls, spoons, cups and food refills. My room was spotless and comfortable and was specially make up for me so I could be near my sons staying in another room. The front desk staff were gracious and friendly as were the room staff. I would stay here again, just ask that the breakfast staff be more patient and if you could use real dishes, that would help. Also, soy milk would be a great addition for vegetarians.”

• Newly renovated suite room was much nicer than expected for the price.
• Due to construction, the breakfast buffet was split between rooms.

“Excellent value for the Boston area. Three blocks from the MBTA, this suite hotel was newly remodeled and very comfortable. Skip the free buffet though and walk down to the Marriott.”
