• Modern with a great staff.
• Dirtiest bathrooms (in the lobby) that I have ever seen.

• Well appointed room.
• Understaffed and absurd mini-bar.

“1 person only at check-in with line of 8 people. Ridiculous placement of mini-bar food items taking up almost entire desk and electronically set-up to record movement. Asked 2 times to have it removed before food was removed. Then it was put back next day. Next day I asked 3 times and it took 3 hours. Then they charged me 100 dollars for items taken reversed of course. Really weird for otherwise well-appointed room with great bed, lamps, internet, etc.”

• Exceptionally comfortable bed and pillows!
• Sketchy neighborhood.

“The hotel was nice from inside, I liked the retro glamor decor. Staff was friendly and courteous and the beds were very comfortable and clean. I had the fried artichoke heart appetizer and a cup of their made fresh daily clam chowder at the hotel restaurant, Sidney's Cafe, both were very good.”

• Comfy bed.
• Put shower caps in the bathroom. Also , the Grey paint in the bathroom made putting on makeup difficult.

• The room was very modern and the bed was very comfortable.
• The area of the hotel was not so good but walking in daylight is OK.

• Room design is
  very good, the air control too.
• Cheap bathroom products, the way they honor bar displayed candy was cheap and offensive.

“Design was great and location was good, staff was very helpful. honor bar was not inspected properly and i was charged for it, but they removed charge. they cut corners in bath products and towels, fell short of 4 stars.”

• Most comfortable hotel I've stayed in for some time. Great bed.
• Not the best sound proofing.

• Comfortable, clean, and very helpful staff.

“It was comfortable with a very convenient location. Close to the Red Line T station. There are a lot of great place to walk. You can easily walk over the bridge and get to Newbury Street, a nice walk up to Harvard Square and great walking along the river.”

• Had a refrigerator but it wasn't stocked with overpriced items..
• Computer access was in the lobby next to the front desk.

• It was close to downtown Boston.
• Water pressure in the shower was non-existent.

• Very nice hotel, with modern accommodations and a very good location.
• The hotel was very modern and well kept, except its time to replace the TV's with flat-screen models.

“Le Meridien is a lovely and modern hotel, outfitted to reflect its proximity to MIT. The rooms are well-appointed and everything seems very new (except for less than cutting edge televisions). A 10-12 minute walk from the Central Square T Station, and attached to a supermarket, car rental facility, and parking garage, the hotel has an excellent and convenient location. I'd highly recommend it for anyone who wants to be close to the mix in Cambridge and Boston.”

• Clean safe neighborhood.
• Loud people in hall in middle of night easy to hear and the parking charge.

“I thought the place was nice easy access to the T. I am not a big fan of paying to park on top of the rising cost of rooms. Parking so tight I had to get out the passenger door.”

• Parking will cost you.

• Loud clunky AC & pipes keep you awake at night.

“This is not a luxury hotel by any means. The mattresses are no better than motel 6. Bathroom is small. Our biggest complaint was the clunky AC and pipes. The AC sounded like someone was banging on the door every time it shut off. The pipes thud anytime your neighbor turns on their water. The entire hotel is basically a pig with some lipstick slapped on to make it look pretty. Would have liked a mini fridge in the cabinet that was obviously built for one. Location is ok if you do not mind the 3 block walk to the T. At night the area turns pretty shady.”

“The room was fair. Older TV set that buzzed during viewing. Incredibly annoying given the Olympics are on. The AC/furnace was noisy and kept me up during the night. Every time it switched on and off it would make loud cooling noise. The hotel had a small cramped gym and lacked conveniences found at other hotels of its caliber.”

• The design and decor were beautiful and unique.
• The plumbing and A/C made a lot of noise.

“The hotel was nice and designed beautifully, but the noise from the AC and plumbing problems kept us up all night. The staff was nice enough to change our room, but the other room had similar issues. Also, while the hotel was indeed lovely, it was by no means luxurious on the level of a 4 star hotel. It's also a better fit for a business traveler than a romantic getaway, and the location is not very convenient to Downtown Boston (you have to take 3 trains to get to most popular attractions). Lastly, the neighborhood are a bit sketchy; I would not go back and stay there without my partner since walking to the T station was a somewhat scary experience.”

• It had many of the patented inventions from MIT on display.
• The hotel didn't have a pool.

“The room was very clean and the view from our room was nice. The staff was helpful and very responsive to any and all of our requests or needs. The restaurant was very nice with a very nice wine selection. The roof top garden was a nice oasis in an urban area.”

• The elevators were cute, good location, rooms nice.
• Lobby was worn and not very nice, short staffed and there were inconvenient errors.

“I would not give this hotel a four star rating, but staying there was not unpleasant. Location is excellent and the rooms are comfortable. If you are looking for elegance or ambiance skip this one though, it is very plain.”

• Overall very nice, close to four star, but not quite.
• Rooms were nicely decorated, but not kept up as should be in a 4 star hotel.

“The service was excellent and they were very accommodating for travelers with young children given this is clearly not the typical traveler at this hotel. None the less, the hotel was difficult to find and the location was average at best. Overall, the hotel was nicely decorated as were the rooms, but the rooms showed a lot of wear (and felt damp) that should not have been visible in a true 4 star hotel.”

• I loved the sophisticated look!
• There were only like 6 channels. Horrible.

“All in all, the hotel was just a short walk from the T train and bus. The restaurant was delicious, and the decorum was sophisticated. I didn't like the outdated television or the 6 channels, they need more entertainment.”

“The room was clean and comfortable. The location is close to Boston and Cambridge colleges but not much to do in immediate area of the hotel. We were only there for 1 night and it was very nice for us.”

“The closest Metro station is 3 blocks from the hotel but that area is not nice at all. Be ready to pay $10-$15 to go to Harvard and Downtown.”

• The lighting, the view to garden, staff professionalism.
• No shower cap, no refrigerator.

“The public area of hotel are very clean and nice, we had good view of the beautiful backyard, but for a 4 star rated hotel, it lacked couple of important items in the room, such as refrigerator/minibar and/or shower cap in bathroom. very small closet. Hotel's Restaurant relatively expensive.”

“The hotel was very nice, the staff was also very customer service oriented. I did not eat at the hotel restaurant, and the few restaurants within walking distance left a lot to be desired. I recommend planning your dining elsewhere in the city. I really enjoyed the 3rd floor garden.”

“I stayed at two hotels while in Cambridge. Le Meridian and the Hyatt Regency. In comparing the two, the Le Meridian was much cleaner and newer on the inside. The price of the food was more reasonable than for the Hyatt.”

• Very neat and clean.
• There didn't seem to be much going on in and about hotel, no cocktail lounge.

“This is a very neat and clean hotel with a conveniently located parking garage just a short walk down the street. This hotel is geared to accommodating guests that may be connected with MIT in one way or another. For Boston/Cambridge it seemed pretty boring with nothing going on within.”

• The hotel's location is right in the MIT campus. Very convenient! very clean.
• There is no on pool, you have to pay to use the health club pool. Parking was expensive.

“The hotel was very clean. The bed was comfortable. Right on MIT's campus. We drove over to Boston University - it took only 5-10 minutes. The location is very convenient - especially for visiting the local colleges. I just wish there was a pool or hot tub in the hotel.”

• Windows opened, strong shower pressure, good sheets, Supermarket & parking next door.
• Coverlet unlikely to be freshly laundered for each new visitor, probably shared.

“Le Meridian is almost within MIT, a 25 minute walk from Harvard Square and 15 minutes to bridge over Charles River to Boston. It's the only hotel in mixed area which includes Salvation Army store. Next door is a Star supermarket and parking garage, $22 overnight, & Budget Car Rental. Attached restaurant is very pleasant, has sidewalk cafe. Breakfast buffet. We had Eggs Benedict, coffee & fresh orange juice, $18.85 each. Very clean, friendly, comfortable desk, easy chair & good reading lights in room, crisp cotton sheets. News papers at front desk. Paid extra for internet connection, $9.95. Would go back.”

• Clean, comfy and cute math theme for Mitt Campus.
• Expensive breakfast (I was charged 17.00 for eggs, toast and coffee).

“Luxurious, clean and comfortable on the Mitt Campus. Cute math, physics theme with atom design in the elevator, robots in the lobby and blankets with math formulas written on them! The staff was very friendly and helpful and helped us navigate the streets of Boston and Cambridge. The restaurant is to be avoided because it is too expensive for the very ordinary food that they serve and Boston is filled with wonderful, unique restaurants that are not so pricey!”

• Rooms were small with no extras i.e. refrigerator or microwave.

“Our room was across from the housekeeping supplies and very early we would wake up to the voices of the housekeeping staff. We had stayed at this hotel maybe 6 years ago and they have not made any improvements or renovations since then. Our clock was set wrong and when we could not adjust it we called the desk and they indicated it would take an engineer to correct it. So when our TV remote did not work we did not bother to call. It would help if they had microwaves and refrigerators in the rooms. Rooms are very small. The hotel staff made it difficult to even cash a check despite them having our credit card information. We often stay at the Marriot Cambridge, which is rated fewer stars but in our view is a more impressive hotel then this Le Meridian Hotel.”

• The rooms were nice and great pillows.
• I didn't really like the location.

“It was very nice. We didn't really like the location; there were a lot of drunks on the walk from the T to the hotel, which being from a small town made me uncomfortable. I was a little disappointed we didn't have a robe in our room as promised, but we survived. However, the hotel itself suited our needs just fine. The pillows were fantastic; I want to get some just like it for my home. The staff was also super friendly and nice.”

• The Location was right off the Mass Turnpike.
• The Valet service was shady and not very good, also, a separate entity from Le Meridian.

“I had a great time there, and would definitely go back. I wouldn't use the Valet though, because they seemed to be extremely disorganized and not friendly. They were also totally separate from the Hotel, which created more confusion when settling the bill.”

• For our purposes the location was not ideal.

“The hotel has just recently been taken over by Le Meridian. I was expecting a higher caliber property based on the name. I assume over time they will be updating the property. It was a little tired.”
