• Very contemporary, huge plasma TV, great updated design.
• Staff was slow to respond to anything by several hours.

“I enjoyed our stay here, it was out of the way of downtown Boston without being way out of the way, the neighborhood was really nice, with some good restaurants with in walking distance. The room set up was contemporary with excellent use of space. We had a small child with us and it was very comfortable to set up the room so that our son had his own nook away from us, however it took several hours for the staff to bring up a pack. But all in all it showed up and we enjoyed our stay.”

• The staff was incredibly helpful.
• The free internet access was great, but there could have been more computers available.

“This is a very nice, reasonably priced hotel. Its not fancy, though the large screen TV/media center in our suite was pretty posh. There was also plenty of space to hang out in the room and not feel cramped. The best part of the experience, however, was the extremely helpful staff that went out of their way to answer any questions we had and help us in any way they could. Also, the cafe had pretty decent food, and the computers with free high speed internet were a really nice feature so that I didn't have to haul my laptop with me though with only three terminals there was often a wait to get on one.”

• Inefficient shuttle service.

“Overall, a very good facility. Terrific staff with the exception of the shuttle service. A short wait for pick up is fine, but an hour-long wait for a trip less than 3 miles is not. The rooms are spacious with appealing modern design. No concerns about cleanliness. I would stay at this property again.”

• Wet bar/fridge was empty and there was only a small cafeteria to eat at.

“The first room smelled like smoke. The hotel is a non smoking hotel. The second room we were given was next to the elevator and somewhat noisy. At least it was clean.”

• One condescending and surly night staffer, down only linens.

“Good, but night staff unaware of polyfill pillows in closet, so down comforter and pillows, while I know are generally a luxury, were an allergic disaster. Night staff was disrespectful and fortunately not typical of the rest of the staff. Otherwise a fine place to stay.”

• The rooms were huge - very comfortable.
• No sit-down restaurant or room service.

“Pretty good hotel overall (would visit again) - I love the large rooms, huge flat screen TV, comfortable beds and mini-kitchen area. The floor of the shower/tub was tilted and in a very awkward shape. Also my air conditioner made strange noises (even when turned completely of).”

• Attractive decor with modern features that are great for the business traveler.
• The parking lot exit is confusing, not well marked. Beware, you may end up on freeway. Needs better workout room.

“I liked the clean and modern feel of this hotel. The decor was tasteful and felt more upscale. The commons area felt like there were separate little living rooms where you could meet or relax in. I really appreciated the modern accommodations for the business traveler. I needed to be able to catch up on my business at home and the workstation in our room was perfectly suited to my needs. I also appreciate their responsible approach to environmental concerns. We would have appreciate a better workout facility, there was not enough equipment and too little space.”

• Large room furnished with a huge flat screen TV and couch.
• No option for wired internet connection.

“Nice, large room. Good area, somewhat hard to find from the highway. Almost a suite with a large couch in a semi-private area somewhat separated from the bed. Small fridge included. Free parking included - something which wasn't the case with the Hyatt in Cambridge.”

• Underground parking with room key felt a little unsafe.

“The room was very nice and included a living area and good king bed. The lobby is not exceptional and the parking underneath the hotel is lonely. Worth it for the price near Boston.”

• The bed was comfortable.
• There were cracks in the bathroom and mold around the soap holder in tub.

“This hotel was fine if you needed to spend a night or two for business or just traveling through. Customer service was lacking and not very attentive. Our rooms had not been cleaned even though housekeeping was on our floor when we left for the day. The breakfast area was very much like a home kitchen with dark wood cupboards with the plates and glasses there. The only thing I could recommend at the Hyatt Place in Medford, MA.”

• Inconvenient location. Dependent on hotel shuttle to nearby places.

“Overall, it is reasonable hotel to stay. Rooms are large and neat. Offers good continental breakfast and large flat screen TV is refreshing. Friendly staff and helpful. Location of the hotel is somewhat inconvenient and one is dependent on the hotel shuttle. After 9PM, no shuttle service and it is difficult to get a cab from the nearby Davis square T-station, active part of the town. Many cabbies denied the ride.”

• The computer lounge was great. It has 3 computers, not just one. The beds are super comfortable.
• At the free breakfast 1 person would sit at a 4-top table and leave no where for a family to sit.

“This is the 2nd time in 2 weeks we have stayed here. We love the rooms, beds, the flat screen TV, the closeness of Boston and how easy it is to get on the highway. We were booked, by my husbands company, at another hotel in Somerville which has a higher star rating the Hyatt Place and it was a nightmare. The beds were super uncomfortable. There were no parking spaces, it took us 15 minutes to find the highway and it was in a very bad part of town. I highly recommended this hotel to friends and family who will be visiting the area soon.”

• It has some of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in!
• Everything was updated except for the bath tub and enclosure!

“The beds were super comfortable. The TV was fantastic and the internet was fast. The "L" couch was super nice and gave us a place to sit and relax instead of only having the bed and one desk chair. Plus, the rooms were very pretty. We really loved it and have already recommended it to friends and family for when they come to Boston to visit us in the summer!!! Try it you'll like it!”

• All rooms and common areas were updated just 5 months ago. Very bright, roomy and comfortable. Great flat screen TV.
• Hotel is great. The many one way streets surrounding it can be challenging though.

“This is a great location for parents visiting students at Tufts, which is just a few minutes away, or anyone who wants to be reasonably close to the T for access to Boston. Rooms are clean, well decorated, and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and the complementary breakfast offers a wide selection.”

• Friendly staff allowed us to check-in early. The room really exceeded our expectations very comfortable. Staff went the extra mile.
• The Continental Breakfast was really great, but it lacked some variety.

“We were really impressed with the staff's friendliness. We arrived earlier than anticipated and they had no problem letting us check in very early (9am). They also offered us breakfast that morning. They have a real handle on what hospitality is all about.”

“We used to stay at a different hotel in the area when visiting our daughter at school in Boston. These rooms are lovely, well thought out, great comfy bed, super TV, fresh breakfast buffet. This is a terrific location with easy access to the city. Our first choice when visiting Boston.”

• Mildew, smell of sheets, put me in a handicap room.

“Looks nice. Shower was mildew, sheets smelled funny. Large flat screen TV was nice. Parking was free in a garage with key access. However, the garage door was broken the last night I was there and was still not fixed when I left the next morning. Not safe in Medford where my car was previously broken into (not exactly in that neighborhood though). Staff was friendly. They had a self-check in feature. Hotel entrance looked classy. I was somehow booked in a handicap room which was not convenient for me and any truly handicap people who may have needed the room. Worked for a two night stay.”

• The king bed is crammed in a small portion of such a large room.

“The hotel was recently remodeled it has a very modern and comfortable feeling. The public spaces and rooms are very clean (and new). The rooms are very large with a common sitting area, with a small partition to the bed's). The large HD flat screen TV is a plus, along with the large refrigerator. The complimentary breakfast is very pleasing in the morning. The indoor heated pool is nice, but nothing to write home about. From the perspective of the cost and location, ultimately, this hotel cannot be beat.”

• Shower set up is uncomfortable. Room needs 2b dusted better.

“Shower should be enclosed, weird having water all over the bathroom after taking a shower. Room should dust more thoroughly. Mirrors were smudged. Rug should be vacuumed better. Mattress needs to be replaced.”

• The Hyatt place was clean and reasonably priced. The staff was very helpful to me when I got lost.
• The only downfall was that I wish it were a little closer to where I needed to be in Boston.

• It is amazingly clean and nicely decorated.
• The heated pool was broken.

“This hotel is outstanding. It is amazingly clean and beautifully decorated. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. The rooms are large and well appointed with granite and dark wood. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. It is located in town with shops and restaurants in walking distance. The hotel shuttle happily transports you to the local subway. What a wonderful stay. Outstanding hotel!”

• Contemporary design of this hotel.
• Some small fault, like bathroom light was out of order. No iron. TV controller did not work. But staff fixed them.

“Excellent remodeled hotel with contemporary outlook. The room is clean, spacious and very comfortable. The lobby is a pleasant place to stay, too. Like this place.”

• The bathroom had a lot of mold growing on the walls of the shower.

“Over all a nice friendly place to stay. A somewhat futuristic look abounds. The room was large and comfortable but the bathroom was pitiful. There was a large amount of mold growing in the shower area that looks as if it has been there for 10 yrs and never been cleaned. The shower area is open with out a curtain or doors and the shower water runs across the bathroom to a drain near the toilet. When you need to use the commode you have to walk through the water on the floor. The large TV was great and the room generally spacious. I would stay there again if not for the mold issue. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous and the free breakfast was very good. You can order eggs or waffles at an additional cost and they were very well prepared and tasty.”
