“I wouldn't recommend staying here without a car. I took the bus to/from the Subway station which was fine, if not time consuming. I walked over the BU bridge to the green line in order to get to the North End and downtown. When it wasn't raining, this was terribly pleasant.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Patrick from Naples, FL
“Refer to questions 1 through 15!” Aug 18, 2008 by
Brian from Barrington, IL
“While the room was cheap everything else was way above local prices in the area. Parking Internet and they were more concerned with the business conference than us. Never got a firm answer to if they had a shuttle or not. We would not stay there again.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Jon from Topsham, ME
“Worth the price. Great location.” Aug 17, 2008 by
Mare from Imperial, PA
“NA.” Aug 15, 2008 by

“Hotel needs renovation soon - was good in 70's and 80's.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Brian from Madison, WI
“This seems like a hotel that was very nice 15 years ago. The staff was mostly helpful but somehow didn't really seem happy. And I couldn't understand them on the phone or in person and they seemed not to understand me either - as though I was in a foreign country. Service was marginal, the hotel is not near the subway, parking is super expensive (even for Boston) and the courtesy shuttle that takes you to the mall doesn't pick up (except if it happens to be there when you want to leave, but it is unmarked so who would know) so you have to taxi back to the hotel. By way of comparison, we stayed at the Cambridge Marriott the week before and it was great: Right at the Subway stop, cheaper parking, better restaurant/coffee choices.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Laury from Natick, MA
“Attractively designed and decorated. Well located overlooking the Charles River. Attentive staff, good food, good drink, very enjoyable piano player in the evenings. All in all, definite positive.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Charlene from Berryville, VA
“Rooms were nice, showed some age and wear though, we had a view of the valets, I guess someone had a river view.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Mi-Kyung from Haverford, PA
“Best location for visiting MIT and Harvard University.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Jeremy from Harrisburg, PA
“This hotel was horrible, the staff was very rude, it was unclean you could see spots on the carpet and cobwebs. I had to call 3 times to get down alternative brought and then they didn't even change the bed just handed me 1 pillow saying the hotel is out of down alternative. I will never go to that hotel.” Aug 11, 2008 by
Alejandra from Dallas, TX
“It was horrible, the rooms were very old, you dont even have a mini bar, not that it matters. But was what just not tolerable was the bathtub was full of hairs, even pubic hairs. Horrible. Also the hotel does not have any drugstore or any seven eleven close by. There is nothing close by!” Aug 11, 2008 by
Mary from Barkhamsted, CT
“The rooms were not very clean. The rooms were not comfortable and were in need of updates. The personnel were quite friendly. This is NOT what one would expect for the amount of money it cost to stay in this Hyatt. I was disappointed.” Aug 10, 2008 by
Janet from Center Valley, PA
“The hotel is basically nice, but lacks some of the amenities of an upscale hotel. There is only one restaurant in the hotel that is a full service upscale restaurant and no place to just get coffee or a light breakfast. The location is great, a nice view of the Charles River, but there is not retail/restaurants within walking distance. Cabs are readily available. An important note: the only parking is in the hotel lot at the cost of $35 per night!” Aug 10, 2008 by
Michele from Stamford, CT
“This is a lovely hotel and best for Business travel with lots of in-house amenities. The beds were very comfortable and the balcony overlooking the Charles River with Boston in the background is a very nice plus. I realize it is difficult to keep them clean with a busy h'way and the city near by, but it would have been nice if the little table and chairs on the balcony were not in need of a complete wipe-down before sitting down. If you need to get somewhere from here without using a car, the T is not the most convenient option as it's a 20 min walk. But there are always cabs and staff out front to get you on your way. The front desk staff was helpful and we were even able to use menus from there to order in food late at night. I would have liked if the kitchen was open later for room service through. On the down side, I would have to say the room was a little on the small side and they only offer two double beds or a king size, not two queen size beds. My husband and I were pretty cramped up in a double bed, as were our two boys in the other bed. The room is really too small to fit two queen size beds, so that give you and idea of the size. I guess the balcony space would make up for the smaller room. On the plus side, the closet and bath room doors are separated from the sleeping area by a wall and the option of swinging the closet door around to use as a door between this area and the hall way to the sleeping area, giving one a private area to change etc. away from others you maybe traveling with and need privacy from. Our only real problem was the AC. It was loud and the vents were aimed right at the head of the beds and blew right on us. It was uncomfortable with it and with it off. The really plush comforters on the bed are lovely but way too warm so we were hot from the neck down and cold from the neck up. It would have been nice to be able to adjust the direction and force of the AC fan and to have a lighter blank.” Aug 8, 2008 by
Traci from Woodbridge, VA
“We were unable to secure a third night at Hotel Marlowe, and had to move for our final night in Boston here to the Hyatt. This hotel was way under par from the previous hotel. They will be undergoing some much needing updating this winter, but in the meantime I would encourage others to look elsewhere.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Sam from Fairbanks, AK
“Good location, clean rooms. small bathroom with no exhaust fans. 1 single cup of regular coffee in room.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Reco from Stratford, CT
“For the rest of the day we had the awful smell in the room.” Aug 6, 2008 by
Lee from Alameda, CA
“I scored a river view room with an outdoor balcony & enjoyed the sweeping views of downtown Boston. The hotel was convenient to downtown & to Fen way Park.” Aug 5, 2008 by
Robert from Reston, VA
“Good location, excellent staff, pleasurable stay, would go there again.” Aug 5, 2008 by
Hyunhwa from Boston, MA
“I think facilities of Hyatt in the US is poor than other countries.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Deepak from Houston, TX
“This hotel is well situated between Harvard and MIT, and has very good facing of Cambridge. The facility is neat and clean, but elevators for parking are from ancient age and make lot of noise and unsafe. Parking fee for hotel customers staying overnight is $35, which I found to be very expensive. You may want to check other places for this reason.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Mike from San Antonio, TX
“Decent business amenities but the rooms show their age. Parking, dining and internet prices were outrageous ($35/night for self parking and $31/cobb salad with diet Pepsi via room service).” Aug 4, 2008 by
Norm from Greenwich, NY
“Clean, friendly, well located to Boston. Excellent fitness and pool facilities.” Aug 1, 2008 by
Anna from Livermore, CA
“It was ok, rooms clean, nice staff. Location could have been better, no stores close by, would rather have more options for food. Hotel restaurant is to expensive.” Aug 1, 2008 by
Tim from Cambridge, MA
“Perfectly adequate hotel. One pet peeve is the prevalence of comforters. It's 87 degrees outside and I had to crank the temperature in the room down to 68 and I was still hot under the comforter. Would be nice in the winter but just foolish in the summer.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Joshua from Heber Springs, AR
“This was a very clean attractive hotel, right on the Charles River, with a great view of Boston! The lounge/restaurant was very nice with great food although it was a little pricey. The room was very clean and had adequate space. This was a family friendly hotel, which at time meant that you would hear kids running in the halls making some noise, but nothing too loud. My only complaint was that I was charged an extra $9.95 per day if I wanted internet access (WiFi or Ethernet). The hotel also had an office in the lobby that you could use if you had to print something. but there was a fee for that as well! Other than the internet usage fees in the room or lobby. It was a very nice hotel. If you have time they even have a nice indoor pool and workout facility attached to the hotel as well.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Alina from Sunrise, FL
“Very comfortable bed, great view, accommodating staff, clean hotel. Would stay and recommend. However, would try to get a refrigerator or mini bar in the room, if possible.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Lisa from Annandale, VA
“You have to arrange bus shuttles in advance (like 24 hours), that should be made clear to guests. The hotel is a good mile or more away from the closest Subway stop, and there's only one bus that goes by once every 30 minutes.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Nancy from Monterey, CA
“The Cambridge Hyatt was terrible. The Harbor side Hyatt was wonderful. Everything was not notch.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Antonio from Mexico MX
“The bell boy does not speak English, the valet parking either, The receptionist was dirty and very bad service we have to change the room 3 times because the smell, the food terrible and take to much time, no room service, the TV more than 10 years old, the bed what can I said the worst. I do not know who said this hotel is 4 stars at least 2I won't be in a Hyatt hotel.” Jul 29, 2008 by
Rob from Buffalo, NY
“Staff was excellent and very friendly. Room was a bit outdated, carpeting was stained and bathroom relatively small.” Jul 29, 2008 by
Andrea from Chicago, IL
“I was mostly disappointed at feeling nickel and dime here. They have you over a barrel with everything because there is nothing nearby. Location is not convenient, so they can charge an outrageous $35 for parking. I have never been to a hotel with little one cup coffee makers (of course you can order a pot of coffee for $16). They also charge for internet access in the room which I think is pretty obnoxious. Hyatt has good beds though, and it was a perfectly serviceable room. The view is also good.” Jul 29, 2008 by
Mimie L. from Closter, NJ
“Upon arriving at the hotel 2 am in the morning, we were told there is no room available. While at the same time, we witness another party arriving later than us was assigned a room. We then were quickly sent to different hotel. Upon arriving at the different hotel at 3:30 am with 2 young children, we were told the only rooms available at the hotel can accommodates only 2 (with one bed) even we have 4 people in the party.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Debbie from Brewster, MA
“Clean, quiet, comfortable room. Bath on the small side -- shower only, no tub. Paid for wireless only, should be free. Nice linens but old style TV- no flat screen.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Missy from Elmhurst, IL
“It was in a great location and had very comfortable beds!” Jul 27, 2008 by
Pat from Morristown, NJ
“This hotel was classy, elegant, and fun to stay at. The pool was beautiful, although there was way too much chlorine in the water and I had to stop swimming laps because I didn't have goggles. There was a sauna I didn't have time to use. We didn't know that there was a $20 per night extra charge for rooms facing the Charles River - that made us angry. Ironically, our air conditioner started leaking at 10 pm and they were forced to move us to a river facing room. Our dinner in the hotel restaurant was delicious, but a little pricey. My martini was $10. The only choice for breakfast was a $20 buffet. Parking was $35 a night. There were two bottles of water in the room, with notes that our room would be charged $5 for each one we opened, so we got ice from the machine in the hall and used tap water. This made me cranky. We felt pampered and relaxed. Very comfortable beds.” Jul 27, 2008 by
Guinevere from Longmeadow, MA
“Comfortable bed and linens. There was a shabby feel to the room and furnishings. Air conditioner blew in dank smelling musty air. First room had a soaking wet floor- was given another room. Location is great. Parking was a bit high, though in line with Downtown Boston hotel parking charges.” Jul 26, 2008 by
Aj from Freehold, NJ
“Could be improved upon, however, we don't have too much to complain about for the price. Next time we'll hope for a room much closer to the subway!” Jul 26, 2008 by
Jinhua from Ames, IA
“Location is great, however, the hotel is understaffed and staffed with poorly trained employees. The restaurant is perhaps the worst I have ever experienced: bad food and ridiculously high prices.” Jul 26, 2008 by
Doug from Scottsdale, AZ
“My room overlooked the parking garage! The walls had scuff marks on them, The AC only blew very cold air so I froze all night. I also developed a cold from the 90 degree weather outside and the 50 degree chill in my room. You get extra charges on everything from internet to the outrageous $35 per night parking charge! Boston is difficult to drive in if you don't know the streets - lots of curved roads that lead you astray so I got lost driving one night and the staff at the Hyatt could not give me directions back to the hotel. I was less than 2 miles away but they did not know any of the major intersections I was at. Finally got directions from a 7-11 clerk! Overall, the hotel is not at a Hyatt standard. The Hyatt corporation should look at this property or do some proper clean up.” Jul 25, 2008 by
Adam from Hillsborough, NC
“It was a good hotel. Everything u would ever want. Except I paid for parking. If your staying at the hotel you shouldn't have to pay parking.” Jul 25, 2008 by
Ed from Philadelphia, PA
“Pluses: Convenient for business travel in Boston area if you have a car and nice view from river-view rooms. Minuses: Not much nearby in walking distance, pricey overnight parking, and some rooms too close to lobby, elevators, or restaurant (my 1st room was next to the restaurant and actually had a roach, so I switched rooms).” Jul 25, 2008 by
Lynn from Weston, FL
“Hotel is beautiful on the Charles River. Just very difficult to get around without using a taxi.” Jul 22, 2008 by
Rick from Seminole, FL
“Hotel is very pricey for parking, food is overpriced for what you get I give this a fair rating, despite the comfortable beds, however, room is rather ordinary for price.” Jul 22, 2008 by
Rich from Margate, FL
“Overall this was a fine stay. Location right by BU and MIT was perfect. Room was large and comfortable. The only downside was the non-negotiable $35 overnight parking, about a 3rd of the price of the room. Otherwise, enjoyed my stay.” Jul 22, 2008 by
Paul from New Hyde Park, NY
“It is in a quiet location and the views of Boston and the Charles River are impressive. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.” Jul 21, 2008 by
Lori from Simi Valley, CA
“Was a beautiful hotel located in Cambridge with Charles River and Boston view. Rooms were very comfortable and loved the pool and fitness center.” Jul 21, 2008 by
Mark from Marietta, GA
“Good location, decent rooms, but Hyatt always sticks it to the guest for extras like parking and internet service.” Jul 21, 2008 by
Mina from Elmhurst, NY
“The Hotel is great, the gym, pool, restaurant staff but one day I asked them to clean my room but it took along. I called like 9 am and get clean by 3 pm, I called 4 times.” Hotel Representatives:
