“The hotel is in a prime location; however, this is the only perk of the hotel. Had an interior room which was very humid due to the indoor pool and the bathroom was very small, dated and no ventilation. The room itself was nice with Wi-Fi, LCD TV, and comfy bed. Staff was not very helpful with the exception of one or two employees.” Sep 21, 2009 by
John from Port Angles,WA
“This hotel is very convenient to the T line. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. There is no refrigerator nor a microwave in this room. Outside of these issues, we enjoyed our stay at this location.” Sep 16, 2009 by
Margery from Longmeadow,MA
“I got what I asked for- a no frills well-located, lower priced hotel.” Sep 4, 2009 by
Ellen from Williamsville,NY
“This hotel definitely fit the "bill" for us. We were in Boston to drop our son off at school. The hotel staff were very accommodating. But most importantly, their underground garage is very accessible and could accommodate our Chevy Express passenger van, which has a very long wheel base and it 6'6" high. The Marriot, which is just down the street, has a parking garage that just barely fit our vehicle (one inch clearance from our roof even though it states it is 6' 9") and was hot and musty. The lobby was nice, and they had a unique garden running across the front. The pool is centrally located and just a step away from some of the rooms and is in an activity area.” Aug 25, 2009 by
Pablo from Pine Hill,NJ
“Rooms are small, but ok. Entire hotel interior smells like the swimming pool, but public spaces are nice.” Jul 15, 2009 by
Nancy from Portland,OR
“Very agreeable staff that seemed eager to please and serve customers.” Jul 8, 2009 by
David from Salt Lake City,UT
“NY: Wyndham: overall, a great value, super clean rooms, very comfortable beds, for NY, great room in a convenient hood. Brookline: For a budget-minded traveler, this hotel offers everything you need: huge rooms, convenient to T, near Brookline Village, friendly staff.” May 21, 2009 by
Louise from Eagle River,AK
“The staff was extremely helpful, courteous, and professional. May 17, 2009 by
Jerry from Long Beach,CA
“Great hotel and location, friendly staff but wireless connection is terrible. Do not go if you need to get work done unless you want to be waiting to use the computer and printer every time.” May 4, 2009 by
Alicia from Temple City,CA
“Excellent customer service and great location.” Apr 10, 2009 by
TJ from Atlanta,GA
“Overall very nice, helpful staff. The remodeling in the lobby was not complete.” Mar 19, 2009 by
Will from Richboro,PA
“Great proximity to Harvard sports facilities. Hotel is ok, if you only need a place to sleep. Common areas are drab and run down. Staff was great, though.” Mar 9, 2009 by
Kathleen from Huntington,NY
“Easy access, friendly staff, convenient to Medical Center in Boston. Walking distance to Dana Farber Cancer Institute.” Feb 23, 2009 by
Bonnie from Newington,CT
“The shower was full of cleaner and grit like it was getting ready to be cleaned. The pool water was milky. It took too long to get anything from the front desk like turn on the jacuzzi, open the workout room extra towels-none at the pool. Ice machine didn't work.” Feb 19, 2009 by
Aine from Summit,NJ
“Great location with "T" at the front door. Nobody was using the restaurant, seemed odd, but there is plenty of highly rated food places close by (walking distance). The front staff were always busy, understaffed. Room stank soo bad it was hard to breath and opening the door had the pool and hot tub right there, shouting and yelling from the youngsters, not a nice experience. But then they gave us another great room on the 6th floor, all newly renovated with just the smell of new furniture. Parking $18/night. The hotel lacked any personality.” Dec 29, 2008 by
Trish from Nantucket,MA
“The rooms are comfortable, the staff was Aug 21, 2008 by
Terry from Charlottetown, PE CA
“Great location, staff was helpful for most part, I did get a knock on my door at 2:30 am by a staff member only to realize he was at the wrong room, and then phoned my room a half hour later to apologize.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Mary from Monmouth Beach, NJ
“Hotel room and bathroom were a little smaller than average. Had trouble with the air conditioner. He was not nasty or anything.” Jul 25, 2008 by
Rowan from Brooklyn, NY
“This is a decent and clean hotel. If you need to be near Coolidge Corner, Brookline which is one of my favorite neighborhoods, then this is a decent option.” Jul 12, 2008 by
Mandy from Athens, GA
“The hotel was clean and nice, though when we arrived we were told that check in was not until 3 or 4 instead of 2:00. Otherwise the location was great, right across from the T station. There was a nice shopping and neighborhood area surrounding the hotel.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Diane from Hudson, NH
“My daughter was having her cancer surgery and I needed to be close.” Jun 5, 2008 by
Stella from Seattle, WA
“This is an ideal location in Brookline right across the street from the Green Line of the "T" (the public transport system) which can get you anywhere in the main Boston area. The hotel has basic functional rooms but was vintage 1970's and was not well maintained. There was non-functioning air conditioning in the first room but the staff did move us to a better room. After being there for several days, we realized that they were doing some remodeling but there was no signage to indicate that they were working on it. There was a water leak over the ramp leading from the lobby into the bar and walkway to the elevator where they had placed a plastic bucket to catch the water - this went on for three days!” Jun 1, 2008 by
Debra M. from Junction City, KS
“Convenient location to other dining facilities and bus lines. Wish they had an airport shuttle, being as close as they are to the airport. Hotel restaurant service very slow. Wish they offered continental breakfast. Hotel common areas, slightly run down. New Mattresses were being delivered the week we were there. Our parents room, several times during the stay was not made or cleaned. Would probably stay again, due to being close to our son's home in Boston. Safe neighborhood. Overall experience was good and would recommend to others, but warn no airport service.” May 27, 2008 by
Christine from Berwick, ME
“Thanks. We had a great time!” May 9, 2008 by
Anne from Milwaukee, WI
“The Holiday Inn is conveniently located next to Coolidge Corner and there is a T stop right in front of the door. Staff is friendly, but the rooms lack proper ventilation and the heating A/C was extremely loud. Bathrooms did not have any ventilation. There were guests that kept the doors open to get some fresh air! Lighting in rooms is rather dim (easy on the condition of the walls which would improve from renovation).” May 7, 2008 by
Dawn from Milford, CT
“The hotel location was very convenient for my travel needs, the neighborhood was safe and clean. The hotel had a pool and fitness room as well as a nice lounge of the lobby. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. A very good value for the money, I would stay there again anytime.” Apr 27, 2008 by
Derrick from New York, NY
“Location was good but facilities were awful, pool was cloudy. When Breakfast is served the smells enter your room as if on fire.” Apr 20, 2008 by
Allison from Bethesda, MD
“Extremely convienent for those going to the Boston medical district. However, the room was dirty and you could tell that the cleaning staff did not spend much time preparing the room for the next visitor.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Jon from Springfield, MA
“Staff was sneaky and unhelpful.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Melinda from Northfield, VT
“The hotel did not give me the kind of room I had been expecting, it was very inconveniently located beside a noisy public space, it was windowless ness, had only a shower and not a bathtub, and, with extra charges for a rollaway bed and parking, ended up being more expensive than a Back Bay hotel would have been. I definitely will not return to this Holiday Inn.” Apr 13, 2008 by
Al from Saco, ME
“Great room, Great for commuters into Boston or fans for Fenway.” Apr 11, 2008 by
Gerri from Gainesville, FL
“We were given the smallest room with a single full bed. There were no specifics given at the time of reservations. Buyer beware.” Apr 11, 2008 by
Peter from Shingle Springs, CA
“The hotel is close to public transportation and in good safe area.” Apr 11, 2008 by
Suzie from Northridge, CA
“This was overall a nice hotel. It had a nice indoor pool and a really nice seating area near the entrance. However, don't expect any real service from the front desk. The guy who helped me couldn't even figure out how to print a boarding pass, a service I've received quite frequently without problems at other moderate and upscale hotels. This makes me wonder if he could really print a boarding pass for himself. Also, the food is all heavy food and is really poor quality. We were not at all impressed. Make sure you seek out breakfast somewhere else. The room was basically nice and the house cleaning staff kept it nice every night except the last night. On our last day there it was obvious that most of the details that were attended to previously were completely overlooked and the staff did not care at all.” Mar 9, 2008 by
Marlene from Poughkeepsie, NY
“Excellent accommodations. $85 plus taxes and fees. There is a $15 additional charge for parking. Street parking is not available.” Feb 28, 2008 by
Frank. from Pittsburgh, PA
“Convenient and comfortable. The staff was very responsive.” Feb 20, 2008 by
Mark from Ossining, NY
“I do not think this was a 2.5 level hotel, based on my experience. There was no bathtub and was a very simple (clean) room. I felt it was like staying in a Motel 6 at best. I did expect much more for the money that I paid. I also had to pay $15 for parking in addition to the room rate.” Feb 17, 2008 by
Amanda from Beecher, IL
“I do recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and attractiveness. If you are looking for a friendly and helpful atmosphere, you may not find it here. The pool was freezing cold and the hot tub was not filled. We found out the hard way that their phone lines do not work in rainy weather. We were dropped off by their shuttle and told to call for a pickup. After 3 hours trying to attempt to call the hotel with no answer, we had to get a taxi. When we inquired at the desk, upon our return, they were well aware that their phones do not always work and simply said sorry. Other than the obvious, the stay was good.” Feb 13, 2008 by
Michael from Amherst, NY
“The hotel is at a great location for its value. The prices of the room and parking are more reasonable than those closer to downtown Boston. There is a subway line right on the street next to the hotel and it can take you anywhere around Boston via connecting lines.” Feb 7, 2008 by
Robert from Rockville Centre, NY
“Nice location in Brookline. Convenient to BU and BC isn't far. Trolley lines stop out front. Staff was helpful. Overall a good place to stay.” Jan 29, 2008 by
Stephen from Unadilla, NY
“Not up to my previous experiences at a Holiday Inn and not up to our previous experiences with hotels.” Jan 4, 2008 by
Jennifer from New London, CT
“Hotel was good for the price. Room was clean and the management helpful.” Sep 24, 2007 by
Steph from Mississippi
“I have stayed at this particular hotel 10 times over a two year period. My first few stays were great, not much to complain about, but the more I stayed the more went wrong. One trip had no hot water, then no electricity for almost two days, hairdryer fell off wall and phones and radio/clock did not work. I have to say the worst experience, was December 2000, I was there for New Years, my mother, sister and I returned from an outing to find our door locked from the inside, we realized someone was inside, the person ran out the door and said "have a nice day". A man had broken into our room (which was on the outside facing Beacon Street) I pursued him, but could not catch him, I went to the front desk and they treated me like I was the criminal! They didn't want to call the PD, but I insisted. The thief had broken in through our window, scavenged through all our personal items and ruined our luggage (hotel did not offer any compensation or free stay). After this experience I was afraid to stay there again.” Sep 1, 2007 by
Chia-Hsin from Madison, WI
“The location of the hotel is so perfect for travelers who do not have cars because the metro train stops in front of the hotel. The place is quiet and many restaurants just one block away from the hotel.” Aug 26, 2007 by
Lynne from Edina, MN
“Very dated and a bit depressing.” Aug 15, 2007 by
Joanne from Ny, NY
“Holiday Inn Brookline has an overall good ambiance. It is conveniently located to Jamaica Plain Boston and within walking distance to local eateries and shops. Although our room was cramped and overlooked the interior restaurant and swimming pool, it was adequate and they allowed us to check-in early.” Jun 29, 2007 by
Bonnie D. from Belmont, MA
“Overnight manager was awkwardly friendly, in a somewhat creepy way. The phone in my room did not work. At 3 a.m. I heard someone trying to enter my room. Turned out to be a drunken guest who got confused, but it was particularly disturbing since the phone did not work for 911 or front desk.” Jun 21, 2007 by
Angela from Dimondale, MI
“It is old, beds are small, it is further from Boston than it is billed as and the clerks are in a hurry and abrupt. It's also overpriced and parking is extra, not included in the bloated room charge - no coffee, no rolls for breakfast, you have to pay for everything on top of the room rate.” May 4, 2007 by
Peter from Ithaca, NY
“Convenient to public transportation, good location, nice area. Interior rooms rather dark.” Feb 10, 2007 by
Ron from Plano, TX
“I lost 2 nights. Any way to fix that?”
