“My daughter was having her cancer surgery and I needed to be close.” Jun 5, 2008 by
Stella from Seattle, WA
“This is an ideal location in Brookline right across the street from the Green Line of the "T" (the public transport system) which can get you anywhere in the main Boston area. The hotel has basic functional rooms but was vintage 1970's and was not well maintained. There was non-functioning air conditioning in the first room but the staff did move us to a better room. After being there for several days, we realized that they were doing some remodeling but there was no signage to indicate that they were working on it. There was a water leak over the ramp leading from the lobby into the bar and walkway to the elevator where they had placed a plastic bucket to catch the water - this went on for three days!” Jun 1, 2008 by
Debra M. from Junction City, KS
“Convenient location to other dining facilities and bus lines. Wish they had an airport shuttle, being as close as they are to the airport. Hotel restaurant service very slow. Wish they offered continental breakfast. Hotel common areas, slightly run down. New Mattresses were being delivered the week we were there. Our parents room, several times during the stay was not made or cleaned. Would probably stay again, due to being close to our son's home in Boston. Safe neighborhood. Overall experience was good and would recommend to others, but warn no airport service.” May 27, 2008 by
Christine from Berwick, ME
“Thanks. We had a great time!” May 9, 2008 by
Anne from Milwaukee, WI
“The Holiday Inn is conveniently located next to Coolidge Corner and there is a T stop right in front of the door. Staff is friendly, but the rooms lack proper ventilation and the heating A/C was extremely loud. Bathrooms did not have any ventilation. There were guests that kept the doors open to get some fresh air! Lighting in rooms is rather dim (easy on the condition of the walls which would improve from renovation).” May 7, 2008 by
Dawn from Milford, CT
“The hotel location was very convenient for my travel needs, the neighborhood was safe and clean. The hotel had a pool and fitness room as well as a nice lounge of the lobby. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. A very good value for the money, I would stay there again anytime.” Apr 27, 2008 by
Derrick from New York, NY
“Location was good but facilities were awful, pool was cloudy. When Breakfast is served the smells enter your room as if on fire.” Apr 20, 2008 by
Allison from Bethesda, MD
“Extremely convienent for those going to the Boston medical district. However, the room was dirty and you could tell that the cleaning staff did not spend much time preparing the room for the next visitor.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Jon from Springfield, MA
“Staff was sneaky and unhelpful.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Melinda from Northfield, VT
“The hotel did not give me the kind of room I had been expecting, it was very inconveniently located beside a noisy public space, it was windowless ness, had only a shower and not a bathtub, and, with extra charges for a rollaway bed and parking, ended up being more expensive than a Back Bay hotel would have been. I definitely will not return to this Holiday Inn.” Apr 13, 2008 by
Al from Saco, ME
“Great room, Great for commuters into Boston or fans for Fenway.” Apr 11, 2008 by
Gerri from Gainesville, FL
“We were given the smallest room with a single full bed. There were no specifics given at the time of reservations. Buyer beware.” Apr 11, 2008 by
Peter from Shingle Springs, CA
“The hotel is close to public transportation and in good safe area.” Apr 11, 2008 by
Suzie from Northridge, CA
“This was overall a nice hotel. It had a nice indoor pool and a really nice seating area near the entrance. However, don't expect any real service from the front desk. The guy who helped me couldn't even figure out how to print a boarding pass, a service I've received quite frequently without problems at other moderate and upscale hotels. This makes me wonder if he could really print a boarding pass for himself. Also, the food is all heavy food and is really poor quality. We were not at all impressed. Make sure you seek out breakfast somewhere else. The room was basically nice and the house cleaning staff kept it nice every night except the last night. On our last day there it was obvious that most of the details that were attended to previously were completely overlooked and the staff did not care at all.” Mar 9, 2008 by
Marlene from Poughkeepsie, NY
“Excellent accommodations. $85 plus taxes and fees. There is a $15 additional charge for parking. Street parking is not available.” Feb 28, 2008 by
Frank. from Pittsburgh, PA
“Convenient and comfortable. The staff was very responsive.” Feb 20, 2008 by
Mark from Ossining, NY
“I do not think this was a 2.5 level hotel, based on my experience. There was no bathtub and was a very simple (clean) room. I felt it was like staying in a Motel 6 at best. I did expect much more for the money that I paid. I also had to pay $15 for parking in addition to the room rate.” Feb 17, 2008 by
Amanda from Beecher, IL
“I do recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and attractiveness. If you are looking for a friendly and helpful atmosphere, you may not find it here. The pool was freezing cold and the hot tub was not filled. We found out the hard way that their phone lines do not work in rainy weather. We were dropped off by their shuttle and told to call for a pickup. After 3 hours trying to attempt to call the hotel with no answer, we had to get a taxi. When we inquired at the desk, upon our return, they were well aware that their phones do not always work and simply said sorry. Other than the obvious, the stay was good.” Feb 13, 2008 by
Michael from Amherst, NY
“The hotel is at a great location for its value. The prices of the room and parking are more reasonable than those closer to downtown Boston. There is a subway line right on the street next to the hotel and it can take you anywhere around Boston via connecting lines.” Feb 7, 2008 by
Robert from Rockville Centre, NY
“Nice location in Brookline. Convenient to BU and BC isn't far. Trolley lines stop out front. Staff was helpful. Overall a good place to stay.” Jan 29, 2008 by
Stephen from Unadilla, NY
“Not up to my previous experiences at a Holiday Inn and not up to our previous experiences with hotels.” Jan 4, 2008 by
Jennifer from New London, CT
“Hotel was good for the price. Room was clean and the management helpful.” Sep 24, 2007 by
Steph from Mississippi
“I have stayed at this particular hotel 10 times over a two year period. My first few stays were great, not much to complain about, but the more I stayed the more went wrong. One trip had no hot water, then no electricity for almost two days, hairdryer fell off wall and phones and radio/clock did not work. I have to say the worst experience, was December 2000, I was there for New Years, my mother, sister and I returned from an outing to find our door locked from the inside, we realized someone was inside, the person ran out the door and said "have a nice day". A man had broken into our room (which was on the outside facing Beacon Street) I pursued him, but could not catch him, I went to the front desk and they treated me like I was the criminal! They didn't want to call the PD, but I insisted. The thief had broken in through our window, scavenged through all our personal items and ruined our luggage (hotel did not offer any compensation or free stay). After this experience I was afraid to stay there again.” Sep 1, 2007 by
Chia-Hsin from Madison, WI
“The location of the hotel is so perfect for travelers who do not have cars because the metro train stops in front of the hotel. The place is quiet and many restaurants just one block away from the hotel.” Aug 26, 2007 by
Lynne from Edina, MN
“Very dated and a bit depressing.” Aug 15, 2007 by
Joanne from Ny, NY
“Holiday Inn Brookline has an overall good ambiance. It is conveniently located to Jamaica Plain Boston and within walking distance to local eateries and shops. Although our room was cramped and overlooked the interior restaurant and swimming pool, it was adequate and they allowed us to check-in early.” Jun 29, 2007 by
Bonnie D. from Belmont, MA
“Overnight manager was awkwardly friendly, in a somewhat creepy way. The phone in my room did not work. At 3 a.m. I heard someone trying to enter my room. Turned out to be a drunken guest who got confused, but it was particularly disturbing since the phone did not work for 911 or front desk.” Jun 21, 2007 by
Angela from Dimondale, MI
“It is old, beds are small, it is further from Boston than it is billed as and the clerks are in a hurry and abrupt. It's also overpriced and parking is extra, not included in the bloated room charge - no coffee, no rolls for breakfast, you have to pay for everything on top of the room rate.” May 4, 2007 by
Peter from Ithaca, NY
“Convenient to public transportation, good location, nice area. Interior rooms rather dark.” Feb 10, 2007 by
Ron from Plano, TX
“I lost 2 nights. Any way to fix that?” Jan 4, 2007 by
Maria from Belmont, MA
“We stayed there for the first night of 2007 and were first given a room in the 1st floor. It was one of the older rooms, decent in size and decor for a 2* hotel. At this point of afternoon, it was still warm outside and room temperature was ok. After attending first night festivities in downtown Boston we returned to our room and noticed that the room and especially bathroom were freezing cold and the heater unit just kept pushing cool air into room. We contacted the front desk; they first tried to change to similar 1st level room. The bathroom temperature still below the comfort zone in that room as well and we waited 15 min to see whether turning on the heater unit would help anything. The heating unit in this room didn't show any sign of warm air within those 15 minutes and went back to the front desk. Then they finally found out (or told us so at least) that there were one room available in tower section of hotel (which is the more modern part of hotel). This room had two beds, much bigger and nicer in decor and had nice modern heating system. We could easily hear noises from other rooms and in the morning time, when people gathered in the inside courtyard for breakfast, the noises coming from that area were pretty loud and woke us up. The first two rooms with super-cold bathrooms would equal to 1* hotel rooms, but the room were we actually stayed would fit into 2* category.” Jan 4, 2007 by
Jose from Bronx, NY
“Room was old and dilapidated, insulation coming out of the bathroom door. The hotel annex I was in had a very cheap motel feel. It was loud and the curtains couldn't be shut all the way so also to bright all night long. A bad night's sleep. I would never recommend this hotel.” Aug 9, 2006 by
Jerry from Liberty, SC
“Needs HVAC maintenance.” Aug 8, 2006 by
Kathy from North Olmsted, OH
“Good location right off the "T". Was unable to get an air condition room the first night. Gave us a fan for the room. Would not go back to this hotel or hotel chain again.” May 28, 2006 by
Natashka from Boston, MA
“The location is excellent, next to the T-Stop, Coolidge Corner is just 2 blocks straight away, where there are many cool shops and excellent food. Downtown Boston and everywhere else is walking distance.” May 27, 2006 by
Robert from Los Angeles, CA
“There were a few minor things wrong with my room. The sink didn't drain properly and the toilet seat wouldn't stay up. Despite bringing these items to the attention of the front desk and being told that they'd be taken care of, neither was. Also, climate control in the room was difficult.” May 8, 2006 by
Linda from Gulfport, MS
“Our stay was short, but it had an inviting and secure feeling. Great quality for the money.” Apr 28, 2006 by
Jack from St Petersburg, FL
“Great location with a T stop on the corner, Starbucks in the lobby, friendly staff. Not very lively since it is a very large hotel that did not have many guests when I was there. Very comfortable and pleasant stay.” Apr 8, 2006 by
Ap from Downers Grove, IL
“This hotel is good for a business or leisure traveler. there is so much to do with a 2 block walk many places to eat and shop. Mass Pike is 1.7 miles away. Cambridge is 2.5 miles away. The hospital district is 1 mile away. If you like to walk everything is within 1.5 miles (15-20 minutes walk) and if you like to drive everything is 5-10 minutes away. Just don't rent an SUV if you intend on parking in the parking garage.” Apr 4, 2006 by
Karen from Evergreen, CO
“I would recommend the hotel because I love the location. It is walking distance to restaurants and close to the "T". I have had better rooms, but with a king sized bed my husband and I were comfortable.” Feb 23, 2006 by
Alvin from Albany, CA
“This hotel is definitely great for the business traveler, not the leisure traveler. The accommodations were clean except for the bathroom. The lobby was nice with sofas and a smoke free bar. The breakfast/dining area was nice but you have to pay for the normally free breakfast buffet--which is nice and a full breakfast service. Some rooms face the interior dining area so ask for a room that has an exterior window or that looks out onto the tropic plant garden. My room furniture was fine; sheets were clean; all my equipment (TV/coffee maker/iron) worked fine. Besides the semi-inconvenient location to Boston and the very sterile feeling of the entire hotel (great for a boring business traveler), my bathroom shower and sink did not drain well. They both backed up and that part of my experience really sucked. I called the front desk but they said it was due to old pipes and there was nothing they could due. So, be warned that your shower and sink will drain slowly. This problem is not that bad in the shower, but it turned out to make a gross sink. That part convinced me not to return to this hotel.” Nov 24, 2005 by
Ruvan from Scarsdale, NY
“The rooms were pretty standard with a two double beds, relatively new bathroom, new kitchen, free wireless internet, HBO, TV. I liked the fact that the hotel has a layout where everything is a little paradise away from Boston. The pool, a cafe, the sauna, the gym, parking, bar, lounge area was all within the hotels walls, so you don't have to worry about the city congestion. Its a little cold to go swimming in the indoor pool during the winter, but it must be perfect in summer time. The room were relatively insulated when it came to exterior sound, and the sound from our room when we stepped out. So I could listen to music an a loud level without bothering any of the guests in the other rooms. On my last day I noticed that someone had dent the front of my Audi a6, which was a huge disappointment because I was in an indoor secured parking garage with video cams. But I found out that the hotel would not cover any of the damages. That was probably the only bad thing I had to say about the place.” Nov 13, 2005 by

“Location okay, accomodations were drab and dirty. Staff was the saving grace, very helpful.” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.Oct 30, 2005 by
Kurt from Sevierville, TN
“Very good location, very nice public areas. Hotel rooms are very small but pretty nice. The bathrooms are old and could use some restoration work and there are not any bath tubs in the rooms. The hotel has a nice indoor pool and hot tub but they close at 9:00PM and even during open hours, they must be opened by a hotel staff member.” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.Oct 28, 2005 by
Rebecca from Chicago, IL
“This hotel is convenient to the T and a small shopping area. The rooms are small, but functional. You might want to call ahead and ask them to go easy on the disinfectant in your room if you are at all sensitive to the powerful odor. Overall, if you just need a quick overnight, this is a decent, clean, safe place to stay.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 21, 2005 by

“Good location near public transport, spacious room, exercise room, breakfast buffet good, newspaper under door good, final bill under door good, did not realize parking was extra until I read hotel handbook, staff friendly” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 20, 2005 by
Elaine from Fleetwood, PA
“Hotel was in a nice neighborhood, T was across the street, easy walk to Boston Commons, pool and jacuzzi were well kept and staff was friendly, bar lounge was nice and bartender accomodating, room was small, only one bed, but this was due to hassle at front desk when checking in. Would definitely stay there again.” Jan 20, 2005 by
Steve from Falmouth, MA
“A good choice for business or visiting in the Brookline area. Centrally located, comfortable room. Not overly decorated but simple and straghtforward set up.” Dec 8, 2004 by
Norbert B. from Merrick “I felt let down by the quality of the room. The room was small and the furnishings seemed shabby and worn i.e. furniture, linens, towels, etc. I would not rate the room as more than 2 stars. That was the disappointing part of the booking. The rest of the hotel and location were fine.” Sep 9, 2004 by
Tracy C. from Austin “The hotel was lovely and convenient to the downtown area, right across the street from a subway station. I would appreciate being able to access the internet without being charged, but otherwise, my stay was very satisfactory.” Hotel Representatives:
