“The room and hotel were Mar 6, 2009 by
Andy from Carrboro,NC
“Room was nice enough - contained a refrigerator that was unplugged. Cannot understand why they had you pay $9 a day to park your car in their ramp - this place wasn't in the middle of a big city. Spent almost $30 on an entree in the hotel restaurant and walked out of there hungry.” Dec 4, 2008 by
Anita from Dorchester,MA
“Considering the price, I was shocked to find I also had to pay for overnight parking for a hotel so far away from the city. There's also a charge for internet access and sorry folks, no free coffee in the lobby.” Sep 16, 2008 by
Jay “Nice hotel, right of 128. Exceeded all expectations.” Sep 14, 2008 by
Irv from Teaneck, NJ
“Overall the hotel is excellent. The beds are the best I have found at any hotel. The pool, hot tub and exercise room were excellent, uncrowned and very clean. The service staff was also very helpful and sent out faxes for us at no cost. The only complaint we had was the cost of parking.” Sep 5, 2008 by
Zak from Brooklyn, NY
“This was my 2nd stay at this hotel, the people working there are nice, the place is clean, I would rate it 4 stars. I came with a group of 7 people, they let us use a conference to have our own poker game, it's a nice place. The only downside was paying $9 a night for parking, so overall I'll stay there again.” Sep 2, 2008 by
Kevin. “Great hotel.” Aug 15, 2008 by
Evan from Lowell, MA
“Beautiful facilities, lots of services but they all cost and way too much.” Aug 10, 2008 by
Eric from Katy, TX
“We found that the hotel even though asked for two double beds, it had no double rooms for us. They had sold them to attendees from a wedding that was having a reception there. We ended up sleeping 3 in a full size bed with a twin cot wedged into the room for the 4th. The cot had to be half propped onto a chair since there was no place to put it flat in the room. They would not help us with placing the cot and had to be called twice to deliver extra pillows and blankets. Somewhat outside the hotels control, but clearly there had been a heavy smoker in the room and the room reeked of smoke, despite being a non-smoking room. Also anytime any room near us used any plumbing fixture the pipes in our room would moan and squeal till you went into the bathroom and turned the sink faucets on and off. Overall a truly poor experience for such a high end hotel.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Edward from Southbury, CT
“It was our second stay this year. Both were positive experiences but surprised that a business travel hotel would charge for room access to the Internet, very European and cheap. Most other hotels, including 3 star offer Internet access in the room as complementary. Also, the complementary Internet access at this hotel was inoperable on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.” Jul 14, 2008 by
Diane from Medford, NJ
“Although the lobby and restaurants were beautiful and inviting, the room was average (heavenly bed was as expected, wonderful) and the bathroom was tired and needed updating (cracked marble, small size but clean). I usually choose Westin when traveling as they are always a great choice but this one was just ok. You could tell that it was previously another hotel.” May 31, 2008 by
Ann from Portland, ME
“The pool and hot tub area needs updating and the chlorine smell was so strong you couldn't stay in the room. I found it hard to believe that they charged 9 dollars a night for parking. You expect that in Downtown Boston, but not in Waltham.” May 30, 2008 by
Janice from Penacook, NH
“An absolutely comfortable, safe, affordable stay. Spectacular looking hotel, especially at night.” May 21, 2008 by
Greg from Wheaton, IL
“Old rooms. Heat/AC was in need of service and rattled every time it turned on. Had to stuff towels in various places to stop it from waking me up! Mirror in bathroom came off wall in my hand.” May 11, 2008 by
Karen from Rochester, NY
“When we first entered our room I was very unhappy. It was not what we requested. I called the front desk to explain that we had 1 queen size bed and we requested 2 beds. My husband and I were traveling with our 2 children and we would never have requested 1 bed. When I spoke on the phone with the staff they claimed there was nothing they could do and they did not have any other rooms. It wasn't until my husband and I went to the front desk that they were by a streak of luck able to change our room.” Apr 25, 2008 by
Anthony from Elmira, NY
“Very comfortable room. Short distance to Boston. Clean. Great workout facilities. Very nice hot tub. Indoor pool was small but adequate. Would recommend this hotel.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Betty from Bristol, CT
“Been there many times, and will return again.” Apr 21, 2008 by
Frederick from Spencerport, NY
“I am likely to return to this hotel. I enjoyed my stay- it was clean and professional looking. The staff was helpful and the check in/out times was minimal. The only unpleasant event was encountering the beer drinking rednecks that knock the chairs down and speak very loudly, seeking attention of all the guests.” Apr 2, 2008 by
Gene from Amherst, MA
“I found the hotel too expensive considering what was offered.” Mar 1, 2008 by
Kory from Seattle, WA
“I've stayed here several times now and of the other Waltham Hotels I've stayed at, it works well for me as a business traveler. Paying for parking is a bummer. Also, the bathrooms are a bit hit and miss in terms of cleanliness - they could use a remodel.” Feb 28, 2008 by
Dad from Brewster, NY
“We have stayed twice with children at the Westin in Waltham. The staff is friendly and upbeat. The hotel itself is immaculate with a nice rooms, a sleek/modern lobby and comfortable beds. We use the pool a lot, and although small, it is fine for our two young ones. The fitness center is a plus too, with several treadmills, Stairmasters, elliptical, and weight machines. It's more or less just off the highway, so there isn't a whole lot around, but across the little bridge there is a good Thai food place we enjoyed.” Feb 4, 2008 by
Kory from Seattle, WA
“Hotel is great. Simple when it comes to rooms, but clean and of decent quality. It is consistent and you can count on a good stay. Free wifi in the lobby is nice - it would be great if the room wifi (and parking) were also complimentary. But then again, you get what you pay for, and compared to the other hotels in the Waltham area, this is the best that I've stayed at.” Jan 17, 2008 by
Beth from New York, NY
“I was so glad that I was able to get the price I did for this hotel. I love staying at a Westin Hotel because their beds really are heavenly. I often have trouble sleeping away from home but not here. I didn't want to get out of bed in the morning.” Dec 19, 2007 by
Shirlene from Queen Creek, AZ
“Well, upon arrival the hotel staff was very pleasant. My room was nice. The second night there around 2:30am I heard a woman screaming and crying. I called the front desk and notified them. It took about 6 minutes for them to come to my room. We figured it out that it was coming through the vents. I never heard the noise again. But I had to ask about the lady I heard screaming and crying through my vents. Only if I asked if they were going to do something to compensate me for the in convince of the early morning, they gave me a free movie. I had lots of billing problems that I had to take up with the managers. Like when I checked in my first night there they asked for a credit card for incidentals so I gave them one. The hotel info channel did not work so I had a menu brought to my room. I ordered a dinner of $9.00 plus tax and like 3 or 4 other charges for bringing my dinner so the total came up to like $20.00 not counting a tip. That the hotel restaurant had to call me and tell me that I was on a cash basis. They had to come up to my room to get money. So, I have had 3 counts of money issues with them. I would not count them as a 4 star hotels. Their shuttle only runs Monday thru Friday to local businesses where the business men come to for meetings and such. There is no way to shopping, dinning or anything unless you have a car or pay out a lot of money for cab/taxi. So, I would not go back there again&” Dec 5, 2007 by
Mark from Bogota, NJ
“Shows how service to the customer is not an important aspect to Westin. Night Manager refused to come to settle dispute with stay, instead sending out Front Desk person.” Dec 5, 2007 by
Lee from E Providence, RI
“I was disappointed in the overall stay. Bathroom had rust and mold. No mini bar. Had to pay to park in hotel lot. Sundry store in lobby closed from 6-7 pm had to try and find a store in the area. There is nothing around here, and I mean nothing in the way of restaurants and stores. Very industrial and corporate.” Dec 5, 2007 by
Sophie from Nashville, TN
“Overall a great hotel. Classy feel to it.” Nov 12, 2007 by
Donna from Bethlehem, PA
“I was displeased with the quality of the hotel. The vent in my room was so dirty and the health club for 3 days in a row did not have anything to wipe down the machines and was out of drinking water. I complained each day and still nothing was done. The rooms need an overhaul.” Nov 1, 2007 by
Debbie from Dallas, TX
“Great view from the lounge, attractively decorated, and magical comfortable beds that float you away to dreamland.” Oct 15, 2007 by
Gail from Weston, FL
“I enjoyed my stay at the Westin; the staff was friendly and very helpful. The bed was very comfortable, but overall the room is tired looking and needs a facelift, also they need a lot of improvement in the bathroom. The food in the restaurant was fine.” Oct 3, 2007 by
Henry from Williamsville, NY
“Excellent accommodations.” Sep 28, 2007 by
K from Virginia Beach, VA
“Overall, absolutely great hotel. Really great restaurant, extremely nice common spaces. Our room was a long walk from the elevator, which was odd, but the room was extremely nice and the bed truly was "Heavenly". The pool isn't quite what the photos suggest. The hot tub's 'bubbler' was broken, but I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The location is a bit out of Boston. With good traffic, 15-20 minutes. When we arrived, it took us 50 minutes to get to the hotel from the airport, but it was 6:00 pm and so was rush hour traffic. However, a comparable hotel in downtown Boston was at least twice the cost, and so I was very pleased with our selection. Waltham is actually a quite nice little town with a few restaurants, gas, pharmacies, etc. Again, overall, great hotel. I am simply trying to be very descriptive of our experience. (And the restaurant's chowder is excellent!).” Sep 6, 2007 by
Betty from Bristol, CT
“Great value, location” Sep 6, 2007 by
Adam from Cary, NC
“Do not stay here if you are celebrating your first anniversary. Hotel general manager couldn't have been less helpful in making the situation right.” Sep 3, 2007 by
Nancy from Long Beach, CA
“Conveniently located, clean, friendly staff.” Aug 24, 2007 by
Corinne from Southbury, CT
“The bathtub did not drain even after we reported the problem. Also, one of the electric outlets did not work so we had problems connecting a working light and the clock at the same time. This was also reported and they fixed this.” Jul 16, 2007 by
Rick from Carmel, IN
“Great location and an excellent hotel. Good service, well done!” Jun 28, 2007 by
Joe from Corte Madera, CA
“They will nickel and dime you to death here. $1.50 for local calls, $9/day for self parking.” Jun 20, 2007 by
Jb from Commack, NY
“I loved the hotel. Everything was well-maintained, and the room was beautiful. The bed was the best that I've ever slept in. The workout room was great, and had a nice selection of workout machines. My only complaint would be about the pool area. I didn't have a chance to go in, because it was over run by young children, and no lifeguard was present. Even the whirlpool was full of kids jumping in and out, and this was later at night, 9pm.” Jun 7, 2007 by
Josie from New City, MA
“I have stayed at this hotel before. And I have noticed it is not taken care of as it once was. I remember being floored at how meticulous the cleaning staff was and how luxurious the rooms felt. This time, I was not impressed and immediately forgot about my stay the minute I left. It was ok. It's losing its luster.” Jun 3, 2007 by
Heather from Sicklerville, NJ
“The hotel as a whole was great. The location was perfect for us. Easy 15 minute drive to a T station right into downtown Boston. My one complaint was the size of the bathroom. I have had bigger bathrooms in NYC hotels and studio apartments.” Jun 1, 2007 by
Anita from Dorchester, MA
“Excellent value, friendly staff, clean and well maintained facility.” May 24, 2007 by
Peter M. from Arlington, VA
“Well maintained hotel which reflects the era (1980s) of its construction--lots of glass and mirrors. Excessive charges for little things ($2 to make an 800-call, etc., $9 for suburban parking) detract from experience.” May 20, 2007 by
Mary Kay F. from King Of Prussia, PA
“Appears to be a conference center, so the parking was very crowded and the hotel bar was very crowded and noisy. I needed to extend my stay and the desk told me they were overbooked and I'd have to leave, but when I called reservations I got a room.” May 19, 2007 by
Peter from Weston, MA
“Need a car - but excellent for business traveler. High spec with friendly staff.” May 10, 2007 by
Linda from Waltham, MA
“I would stay there again if I could get the same great value price as I got from you.” May 4, 2007 by
Paul from Eden Prairie, MN
“The hotel was very nice; the parking structure was not attached so we had to walk in the rain back and forth for self park. Free internet in the lobby and $9.99 internet in the rooms is okay. When I was there were 300 students on a band and choir trip also staying there. Kids were kids, all was fine.” Apr 27, 2007 by
Rebecca from Marlborough, MA
“Appropriately an upscale three-star. Clean. Nice rooms/modernized and nice lounge bar area. One of the better Westin's I have stayed at.” Apr 25, 2007 by
Betty from Bristol, CT
“Had an issue with very soggy carpet in our room. We had a connecting room, with adult children. We were immediately offered another room. They even brought us the keys.” Apr 4, 2007 by
Tracy from New Lenox, IL
“These are always my favorite places to stay. I need my brother in law's help on a project for my business so I ended up bringing his whole family along for spring break. Our luggage was lost on our arrival to Logan airport from Chicago. Usually my family would be in Daytona beach this time of year but they ended up getting stuck in cold Boston so losing the luggage was the start of a train wreck. We couldn't get a hold of the airport after calling for 4 days and on Thursday (we checked in on Sunday) we finally got a hold of someone at the airport that told us our luggage was delivered to the west in on Monday morning at 4 am. My nephew had no clothes for the week and my sister had to go out and buy him everything new. They were kind enough to reimburse my sister for what she had to buy for the week and are now in the process of trying to figure out what happened. The pool was not working when we arrived and I don't believe this is a good place for children to stay because there is nothing for them to do. It is great for business travelers and I will stay again.”
