• Did not have a room with 2 beds available. Was not informed that we were put in a handicapped assessable room. Shower was uncomfortable.

• Two beds in one room, pullout sofa in the other - perfect for family.
• Noisy!

“The only thing I did not like was that the hotel had a large central atrium, and every room opened on to it. My husband and I slept on the pullout sofa in the room that opened on to the atrium so my kids could sleep in the bedroom. The atrium had a bar and lots of gathering spaces and it was extremely noisy until the wee hours of the morning. The sofa bed was pretty uncomfortable too, but the convenience of having it outweighed that.”

• The hotel was very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The business center was helpful because I could print my boarding passes. The room was great.
• The dinner we had was okay. The Caesar salads were disappointing but the restaurant offered free desserts to compensate!

“I would definitely recommend this hotel and have to others. The price was great for what they offered and the staff and accommodations were exceptional.”

• It was beautiful. Felt like home.
• The TV's were old, and kept fussing up and loosing volume.

“Walking into the hotel. I was impressed. Its Beautiful. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The location was great easy to find and close to everything. Only complaint. Our room was over the pool and had a strong chlorine odor. Also the TV's in the room were old and small and the signal kept fading. While watching a movie in bed, the volume faded out and the picture kept fussing up. But my visit was enjoyable. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.”

• The sitting area is great. Bedroom area is very quiet for sleeping since the sitting area is closer to the front door.
• The only comment is that the bathroom floor tiles could be cleaner.

• Being served a warm chocolate chip cookie at 1 a.m. when we arrived.
• Difficult to find entrance - had to drive around the block twice. Needs directional sign.

“We were very pleasantly surprised - very comfortable room and bed. Warm greeting even at the late hour of 1 a.m. - and loved getting a warm cookie - we were hungry after traveling all day, and this made the stay memorable.”

• Very convenient to the main thorough fares.
• A little on the dowdy/old fashioned side and they still use bedspreads, which is gross.

“Nothing fancy, but decent for a short family vacation. Very convenient location for getting to the areas in and around Boston. Service was adequate and friendly. All rooms are suites with a pull-out sofa in the LR. Suites are clean and large with a little coffee maker and a fridge. Suites have windows facing the corridor, so you have to keep that curtain closed, and our other window had an unattractive view, but that wasn't important to us. The fitness center was kind of smelly and small. They charge $10/day for internet access and $10 for continental breakfast. Overall I would call it a good place for business and basic family needs, but not for anything romantic. I would definitely recommend it for the great price.”

• Room was beautifully decorated and spacious immaculate.
• A little tricky finding the entrance to the hotel.

“I loved this hotel. The room was gorgeous, the furnishings and bedding appeared to be brand new. The front desk staff was friendly and gave us a lovely corner room that was quiet and immaculate. Finding the entrance from the highway was a little difficult, but we quickly learned that wouldn't be our only challenge driving around the Boston area. And we can't forget those warm chocolate chip cookies! An excellent stay.”

• The extra room with a TV. It made the suite very comfortable for us.
• Weight training equipment could be more extensive.

“Service is not good. My credit card has been billed for charges that I did not incur. So I am now trying to contact the hotel manager and have been bounced to different people with no resolution. I have contacted my credit card company.”

• Rooms are spacious and well laid out. Beds are comfortable. Staff was cordial and efficient.
• The restaurant was not as good as before.

“It is even better since recent renovations. The rooms are the right size for our needs and we appreciate a refrigerator and extra sink. The beds are very comfortable. What little contact we had with staff was courteous and professional. We like the location and the pool and hot tub are a nice feature. I would stay there again.”

• Hotel is the best in the Waltham area.
• Hotel didn't replenish the coffee in the room after the first day stay.

“Excellent hotel with spacious room, which surprisingly had a front room and a bed room, each with its own TV. The couch in the front room opened into a queen sized cot and the entire suite could easily accommodate 4. Very well maintained and a fresh warm cookie during checking sets you in the right mood. Right off I-95 27b for quick access to the hotel. However, the road entrance to the hotel was pretty confusing for someone not familiar with that junction (you have to enter through the side of hotel using the "First Avenue" rightmost lane).”

• It was very close to my work and I needed to be there because of snow.
• Everything about the room was very noisy the heater, the refrigerator, the ice machine, etc.

“I have never stayed in such a noisy room in my life. The ice machine was right outside my door and seemed too used all night long. The heater made such a racket that I hardly slept all night. I was concerned because of an earlier snow fall. Turns out I would have been much better off to just stay at home. I was a wreck at my meeting thanks to getting no sleep at all.”

“The rooms at this doubletree are spacious and if you want a good place to stay while traveling in the Boston area, you should consider this fine hotel. Food at the buffet, especially on Sunday, is great and the prices are reasonable. If you don't already know about the doubletree chocolate chip cookies, you'll be in for a treat!”

• Dining/lounge service till midnight - we arrived hungry after attending the red sox - yea! Game and were fed at 11:30 p.m. By a very friendly server.
• The jerk who took off without paying his bill to our server.

“Clean, comfortable and conveniently located to all the local attractions of Boston. Fen way park, which was our destination, is 15 minutes away (on a good traffic day). Staff is very friendly, room was very clean and comfortable, bedding is so nice and almost like home!”

• Wish it were closer to the subway station.

• The bed felt like sleeping on a cloud.
• The location was a little tricky to find.

“The hotel is right off Rte.128 (although getting to it is a little confusing). My suite and all public areas were very clean and well-appointed. The carpet was new. The "Sweet Dreams" bed felt like sleeping on a cloud - lots of pillows, and a fluffy duvet. Bathroom had a new Speakman shower head, curved shower curtain rod, and lots of big, thick absorbent towels. The living room was large, with the standard, generic hotel chairs, sofa, table, etc. Neutrogena products in the bathroom (including some extras beyond the standard shampoo and soap - like moisturizer with sunscreen, facial cleanser, etc.). The hotel operator phoned me within an hour of my arrival to welcome me by name and ask if there was anything more they could do for me. The classic warm Doubletree chocolate chip cookie was given to me when I checked in. The swimming pool was large, and looked good for lap-swimming, but out of service when I went to use it; apparently, a child had gotten sick in the pool and they were disinfecting it before anyone could use it again. I am not complaining; I was glad they were being conscious about this. Front desk staff was helpful.”
