• I really enjoyed the outdoor space with the connecting indoor and outdoor pool, poolside bar, cabanas.
• The indoor pool space could use some updating.

“I really enjoyed my stay at the Downtown Marriott. The outdoor spaces were wonderful, with connecting indoor and outdoor pools, poolside bar outfitted with cabanas, fire pitting, and overall very nice seating. A nice amenity to have if you are traveling in the summer. The room was very clean and quiet. Staff was also helpful. Overall, no complaints and would highly recommend.”

• its location was convienient to the city and great access to all roadways.
• charges for internet and other things like water and coffee in rooms that are gratuitous in other hotels, even those hoyels that are not rated as high

“The hotel was pretty but not easy to negotiate. There were extra charges that were just insulting. a Ten dollar internet acess charge for a 24 hr, hr period of time . not wireless and they charge you from noon to noon even though they will not check you in to you room before three. They do not make it clear that they charge you from 12-12 until the acess is cut off prior to your 24hr. time period and you call to question. beds were very comfortable though.”

• Typical Marriott, you know what you're getting.
• It's not really downtown 10-15 minute walk to downtown.

“Friendly staff, free parking, comfortable room. TV reception was iffy would expect flat screens at a flagship Marriott. All in all, got what I paid for. Great indoor/outdoor swimming pool.”

• Exceptionally clean, great lobby with bar, fantastic pool.
• Nothing I didn't like.

“This hotel beyond met my expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised. My husband and I travel a lot and were not expecting much. Booked it mainly since it was close to the graduation we were attending and because parking was free. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The lobby bar was a great place for drinks and some snacks. The room was a good size with a small fridge, coffee maker with tea and coffee provided. The pool although we did not swim in it was one of the best looking I have seen in a long time. Indoor/outdoor pool all connected together. You could swim from one right to the other. Nice outdoor lounge/bar with a fire pits surrounding the area as well. The hotel was very quiet even though there were 2 wedding receptions and a prom going on. Minutes from all downtown areas as well if you have a car. You won't be disappointed with this hotel.”

• The outside pool and bar were beautiful.
• Staff was very slow to respond to maintenance problem.

“We requested a room change due to a non working air conditioning unit. An engineer was sent to the room and it took over 3 hours to have the unit replaced. We were eventually moved across the hall - which could have happened when we initially reported the problem.”

“This hotel surpassed my expectations in every way. We went to celebrate my birthday and to have a mini honeymoon since we married 5 months ago and didn't have one. The first night we came in to a delivery of two pieces of gourmet chocolate cake, with strawberries dipped in chocolate, and whip cream, and a hand written birthday card from the gal who had checked us in. On another occasion an employee gave me my lunch free for my birthday. The courtyard, The Aqua grand opening, the shuttle service, everything was perfect! The only thing I could suggest is a small table with two chairs for couples. Excellent in every fashion!”

• The hotel was in a good location for sightseeing in Providence. Front desk staff was excellent and Pool and outdoor bar were lovely.

“This hotel met our needs very well. Front desk staff was very professional and helpful. The lobby area was very attractive. Our room was spacious and well appointed. This was a very good experience and we were satisfied with Priceline and the hotel itself.”

• I loved the comfy bed, and that there was a fridge.
• The internet access in the rooms was not free.

“Excellent staff, beautiful hotel. There is a charge for In-room internet access. There is free access to one computer in the business center, but there was often a wait, which was frustrating. Serving the customers' needs in this regard was not met, as compared to less expensive lodgings.”

• The hotel had a lot of amenities plus the bar was opened until
  2 am.
• The moisture from turning the air on and off in the room got the carpet wet which I didn't know until morning when my bag was soaked.

• Common area decor and pool area.
• Check-in staff was a trainee and didn't know what she was doing.

“Off the beaten path, not really in downtown Providence. Walkable during summer weather, but not when it is raining or snowing. Bar staff not very friendly, more interested in talking to fellow employees. Trainee checked us in, didn't ask for credit card for incidentals and woke us up at 12:30AM to get a credit card so they could close the bar. A serious lapse of judgment on the part of the hotel.”

• Excellent working room, great internet connection, very neat and clean facilities, and friendly, helpful staff.
• No dresser or drawers in the room for clothing.

“Excellent hotel with friendly helpful staff. A bit of a walk through. Not a great neighborhood to get downtown, although this was supposed to be the downtown Marriott. Construction at the hotel was a continuous annoyance. The restaurant staff (greeter) was rude and treated us as a bother, so we left. The front desk staff were terrific, but they should really outlaw staff smoking at the front entrance. I would appreciate a call back if possible.”

• Clean, upscale, nice (but cold) pool, near mall.
• Far walk to Brown campus, no complaints.

“View was of Gas Station and parking lot. Stairwell was propped open at 1st floor, allowing unseen public access to any floor. Room was clean and plush. TV selections were ok. Staff always greeted me on returns and departures from lobby. Pool was cold but fancy. Pleasant stay overall, worth the price.”

“Very nice in town hotel with the usual amenities for the brand. Unfortunately, the televisions in the rooms had not been updated in some time and the reception was poor. Pricey Starbucks in lobby was disappointment. Excellent pool and health club facilities.”

• Price point was good.
• The shower curtain smelled very sour and in the afternoon there was minimal hot water for bathing.

“I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and although the construction was tricky to navigate around it still was manageable.”

• There was no place to plug in lap top around the desk area. I had to use plug between the 2 beds.

“Presently under renovation. Sometimes noisy construction work is heard. The bathtub was full of dirt left behind a cleaning project. There is no adequate working area other than on the bed. I love the free parking and location. Staff is very good.”

• The staff was very knowledgeable, clean and was a pleasure to talk with.
• The hotel was being remolded, but you would never know.

“My stay was very pleasant. Quiet rooms, efficient staff and comfortable beds. I was in a newly updated room, it was very large and clean. I had to use the shuttle which was a real gem when it came to going downtown. I loved not having to pay to park!”

• The exercise facility and pool area - very nice; loved the shuttle service.
• The pool should be cleaned more often; hair in bathroom when I checked in.

“Overall, I thought that this was a very nice establishment. The shuttle was very convenient and saved me a lot of money on parking. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The new bar around the pool was fantastic; particularly the fire pits. The exercise facility was great! Lots of equipment to use. The only complaints that I have concern the cleanliness of my bathroom upon check-in and the pool area. When I checked into my room, I found several hairs in the bathroom. One long blond hair was draped over the door-knob! There were also several dark colored hairs in the tub and on the floor. That's a real turn-off to me. However, the person that cleaned my room after my first day did a wonderful job; they even left me extra amenities. The pool area was beautiful, but there were so many people using the pool that it got very dirty by the evening. Lots of children using the pool and even customers of the bar using the pool (which I found inappropriate) made for a very dirty pool. I think it should be cleaned more than once a day, although I recognize that this might be difficult. Just skimming the surface more than once a day would probably benefit the pool a great deal. For such a nice hotel, you don't want people walking away remembering how filthy the pool was.”

• No hangars, ironing board or iron in room. AC was too noisy.

“I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Providence who has a car. It is a few block walk from the main Downtown area and right off Rt. 95. The staff was very friendly and quick to respond to my requests for hangars in the room. The only negative was the noisy AC. Others in my group had similar comments on their rooms as well. I would stay here again.”

“Super! They just recently remodeled the pool deck and menu. Very trendy. We loved it, although they need to improve the outdoor bar wine and beer options. Too limited, unless you visit the indoor bar and they have a great selection!”

“Went to older daughters graduation at Risky. Hotel was not within walking distance but there was no problem with parking downtown. Staff at hotel was excellent in both attitude and performance. Plenty of parking at hotel convenient to room. Room service breakfast was quite good and fresh and warm. I would recommend hotel and definitely return. A good value.”

• The reservation desk was welcoming and really helped me get the right room.
• Not in the center of downtown, near restaurants, etc. Walked lots.

“A low rise Marriott with nice rooms, a busy lobby and conference activities, an active bar, friendly staff. Recommend that you take the trolley to/from Kennedy Square on the half hour, but I never managed to, so I walked to downtown (about 15 minutes) a lot.”

“For the star quality I expected just a little more, nice enough for someone that does not travel very much, I travel a lot and wished for a little more for the star level. Hampton Inns are my preferred choice at this star level.”
