“Excellent front desk and bell staff. Helpful and friendly despite crowd at check-in due to a convention next door. Roving management staff were engaging and helpful - nice touch!” Nov 20, 2009 by
Denise from Southington,CT
“Super luxurious, nice accommodations and friendly staff.” Oct 28, 2009 by
Margaret from West Hartford,CT
“Very satisfied.” Oct 15, 2009 by
Lea from Trumbull,CT
“We would stay at this hotel again and also recommend it for any type of function. Their ballroom is wonderful. Friendly staff and very helpful. Comfortable bed the most important point.” Oct 15, 2009 by
Jennifer from Bellingham,MA
“Excellent!!” Oct 10, 2009 by
Vickie from Nrh,TX
“The hotel has a nice appeal but however is not the friendliest people. They were extremely rude to me and would not answer the phone when calling the desk. The hotel was uncomfortable and very expensive they had a very limited variety of food they charge 8.00 for macaroni and cheese but their attitude was the worst of all.” Oct 2, 2009 by
Heather from Berlin,MA
“Overall the hotel was what we have expected. Our only concerns were that the A/C was broken and we found the room temperature was not consisted which woke us up many times throughout the night.” Aug 31, 2009 by
Debra from Milford,CT
“The staff were not very helpful. They were in fact a bit on the rude side. On the day of check out I needed to call the front desk, and was actually charged nearly $3 for the use of the room phone to contact the front desk, which I disputed, while my husband waited for me in the car. They finally took the charge off, but were not very gracious about it, and while it was only $3.00, this was the end of a long list of nickel and dimming that had gone on. Parking, as is sometimes the case in a large city was $18.00 a night if you parked your own car and left it in for the duration. It was $26.00 to valet park or to get a pass to take it out as you wish. The on site restaurant that allegedly serves breakfast, did not even have a hostess at the station to seat us, nor did anyone show up in the time we waited for someone to acknowledge our presence and seat us. There was a dead bird on the sidewalk in the front by the lobby upon arrival and while there were various attendants standing around no one felt it necessary to deal with the dead bird.” Aug 20, 2009 by
Mary from Stamford,CT
“We changed rooms due an air conditioning issue. The same issue occurred in the next room. The rooms are very hot because they will not allow the thermostat to go below 66. The room was nice, flat screen TV's. The hallways were not very clean and the room service tray sat outside all day.” Aug 18, 2009 by
Tamara from Westmount,Canada “Very good coffee in the lobby every morning, on the house to boot. Fantastic restaurant in the lobby a bit pricey, but absolutely first class. Very good location, close to everything basically.” Aug 11, 2009 by
Larry from Boston,MA
“Getting a little tired but worth the stay and met my expectations.” Aug 9, 2009 by
Kit from Sun City,CA
“Very comfortable hotel in a pretty city.” Jul 26, 2009 by
Nicholas from Providence,RI
“The exterior of the hotel is certainly quite nice and resembles that of a 4 star hotel, as does the lobby. The interior corridors to the rooms are not of 4 star quality. The rooms are in no way 4 star quality. The rooms in the west tower have outdated furnishings and are not like the rooms pictured on the hotel's web site for that of a standard room. The rooms in the east tower, which are newer, are more modern but not kept up well and are not 4 star quality either (these are the rooms pictured on the web site). From lumpy, stained comforters (we removed them and housekeeping took them away and kindly apologized), to stains underneath the glass topped furniture (obviously from spills), to areas of mold in the shower, to stains all over the lounge chair, to blankets that are outdated and need to be replaced, to simply standard beds (not "heavenly" as Westin advertises), about the nicest thing in the room was the carpeting and the plasma TV built into the wall. This property is only well maintained on the outside and on the inside in public areas to suggest that it's truly 4 star. It, quite unfortunately, is not at all deserving of a 4 stars rating.” Jul 23, 2009 by
Rodger from Carmel,IN
“The hotel was in a great location. The service was very good. I can not comment on the food quality of the hotel since I did not eat there.” Jul 11, 2009 by
Kathy from Grand Rapids,MI
“Very nice older upscale hotel with fantastic rooms in the new tower, a terrific location for anything in downtown Providence.” Jul 10, 2009 by
Anonymous from Nashua,NH
“The DIRTIEST hotel room I've ever stayed in, regardless of rating. There was blood spatter in the bathroom. It was reported but they did NOTHING, despite claims they would follow-up. Overall, a horrendous experience!” Jun 12, 2009 by
Hilary from Brooklyn,NY
“A fine, clean hotel with hot tub and pool and exercise room (not all machines in working order). A little sterile by my standards, nothing that makes you feel that you are anywhere special when you are! I like the older parts of the city. Hard to find from this hotel, but not really far away as everything is close in Rhode Island. Skip the mall and go to Wickenden Street. Go to the Museum. Walk around the old neighborhoods.” Jun 11, 2009 by
Joseph from Livingstion,NJ
“Beautiful downtown hotel with full ammenities, nice service and great rooms.” May 27, 2009 by
Kellie from Terryville,CT
“A very nice hotel in an excellent location. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, nightclubs. Very big so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves once we got to our room. Great for families and business.” May 23, 2009 by
Janet from Amesbury,MA
“It was easy to find right off the highway. Great location and convenient to all major attractions, shopping and restaurants. The staff was helpful and very pleasant.

“Hotel was clean and I loved the bedding. In room coffee with liquid creamer was a plus. Parking lot floors do not coincide with the hotel floors and this is not displayed inside the elevator. Very confusing when you are checking out. Need room key to operate elevators. This very inconvenient, especially upon checking out when you might have disposed of key or packed it in a suitcase. Now you are in an elevator opening up your bags trying to find a key! Hugh waste of time!” Jan 20, 2009 by
Rick from Carmel,IN
“The hotel is newly renovated, and in the center of a large shopping mall, downtown Providence, excellent staff, beautiful rooms and great views, a little hard to find the front of the hotel, but after that, it is a great experience.” Oct 29, 2008 by
elizabeth
“I liked it okay but I do not believe it is a 4 star. The location is great.” Oct 26, 2008 by

“This hotel was big, clean and easy to get to. I loved the fact that there was a beautiful, clean shopping mall connected to it. You did not even have to go outside to get to the mall. I liked the safety of the hotel. You had to use your room key in order to use the elevator.” Oct 22, 2008 by
Lisa
“Great comfortable, clean and beautiful place to stay. Right in the heart of Providence with sky bridge to Providence Place.

“Conveniently located in heart of providence, safe area, walking distance to Federal Hill (Little Italy), walk-through attaches to mall, nice restaurant but a bit pricey. Overall, a great place.

“Wonderful weekend away with husband. Hotel exceeded our expectations. Close to everything. Awesome!” Sep 29, 2008 by

“This hotel is rest for the weary traveler in terms of comfort, location, service and luxury. Very near shopping, restaurants, yet distinct enough in its own right. Great place.” Sep 23, 2008 by

“Excellent location. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Would love to go back.” Sep 10, 2008 by
Drew from Princeton Junction, NJ
“The Westin is a beautiful hotel centrally located in downtown providence. It has all the amenities of a Starwood run hotel room service 24 hours, valet, pool, fitness kind and helpful staff. The bed was comfortable, my wife loved it, but not to my preferred taste. The only detractor was the age. The Westin has been opened for some time now and the room was getting a bit run down. Some peeling wall paper, stained fixtures etc that need to be replaced.” Sep 9, 2008 by
Gavin from Portland, ME
“Its just a great hotel. Many good restaurants within walking distance.” Sep 3, 2008 by
J from Raynham, MA
“Although the broken elevator was due to a non emergency fire alarm, it took quite a while to have it restored. I understand that it was not the hotels fault, the outside contractor was unable to get all elevators working until the next day. It was a minor inconvenience, however, we were unable to have access to our room for over one hour and it put us in a time crunch for our plans that evening.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Katie from Holliston, MA
“It was very enjoyable. Very busy and tough to get help with a specific question. But the rooms were gorgeous and very comfortable. Would definitely go again.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Liz from Garden City, NY
“Although a little confusing to find, as the signs outside were not prominent, and getting to the lobby from the parking garage involved asking lots of people and taking elevators and escalators, this hotel was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed. There was a large flat screen TV and Starbucks coffee available in the room to brew. The only negative in the room was the fact that the windows were covered by a glazed film, so that you could not see outside and had no idea what the weather conditions were (raining, sunny etc). It also made for a claustrophobic feel to the room.” Aug 28, 2008 by
Jean from Burlingame, CA
“Lovely hotel with very convenient location. Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. Very comfy beds!” Aug 25, 2008 by
John from Honolulu, HI
“There is a skyway attaching this hotel to the Mall, great for storms.” Aug 24, 2008 by
Paul from S. Orleans, MA
“Enjoyed our brief visit to providence for Water Fire and our stay at the Westin. Will return sometime soon.” Aug 21, 2008 by
Susan from Toronto, ON CA
“Very friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable and well appointed rooms. Great location--a fifteen minute walk to the Italian restaurants on Federal Hill. A great city for walkers.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Neil from Belchertown, MA
“The front desk never told us how to get to room, and it took us a half-hour to find the room (the third floor is huge, and the actual guest rooms are in this hidden little alcove behind two fire doors). When we got to the room, the closet door wouldn't open, the bedside lamp didn't even have an electrical outlet, the telephone didn't work and the safe's battery was dead. We ordered breakfast via the breakfast card that you leave on the door and when it was delivered we informed the young lady how unhappy we were with the room; she assured us she would have a manager call us immediately. None called. We were extremely disappointed with the quality of this hotel. As we have stayed at the Westin in New York, we had high expectations. Not only did the hotel not meet those expectations, but it ensured we will be staying at the Marriott from now on.” Aug 13, 2008 by
J from Saratoga Springs, NY
“This hotel is featured in a prime location in downtown providence and is conveniently attached to the mall / conference center. Staff was friendly and accommodating to requests for a room in a quieter location of the hotel. Rooms were clean, but were not up to par with four star accommodations. They were rather sparse and did not offer any luxury beyond the comfortable bed. We did not make use of the amenities such as pool or fitness centers.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Judy from Lebanon, KY
“Valet parking $23 per day plus tips. Self parking is also expensive. The nominal fees for local calls, internet, etc grew tiresome, although they had a stocked mini bar, don't even consider putting your own items in it. They told me at check in that the mini bar has infrared sensors - don't touch anything or you will pay.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Robyn from Edmonton, AB CA
“Maintenance staff was very helpful in helping us move out of a room they gave us by accident (leaky fridge, no air conditioning and numerous other problems. The carpets were pretty dirty, but the common areas were lovely.” Aug 10, 2008 by
Gladys from Wayne, NJ
“The Westin in Providence has seen better days. It is clearly in need of renovations. It is very clean and the staff was wonderful, but you can tell that everything is worn, from stains on the carpets to peeling wallpaper.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Sandy from Harwich, MA
“Wonderful, close to so much Providence has to offer. Clean, safe and conveniently located. Very Comfortable.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Dan from South Hadley, MA
“Hotel staff was excellent very helpful, location was great food was so-so, not worth I found the parking got backed up for long periods due to functions in the hotel.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Carol from Boston, MA
“I would stay here again. Centrally located, easy to get to off of 95.” Aug 6, 2008 by
Margaret from Belmont, MA
“Fabulous hotel with oversized rooms, oversized bed. Bed was super-comfortable. Room was plush. Lobby was beautiful. Parking too expensive.” Aug 6, 2008 by
Trudy from Westfield, NJ
“A major pain if you stay in east tower to get to restaurant or parking in west tower. The room was clean but the bed was incredibly soft (I have a bad back), the shower did not drain and was standing in ankle deep water, the movie I ordered on the TV stopped in the middle, we called down and were still charged and the AC ran when it chose to-mostly in the middle of the night. Also, very noisy outside our window. I have stayed here before in the west tower and had a very different experience but would not chance it again.”
