• Hotel staff were very responsive to our requests.
• Some street noises amplified into the room, even on 15th floor.

“Beautifully appointed room with a contemporary flair comfortable bed with flat screen digital TV. A great hotel to just lay in bed and get room service for a few days. Within walking distance of many restaurants and other things to do. Agora a very good restaurant for a leisurely breakfast, and staff were extremely helpful and friendly.”

• Skywalk to Providence Place was convenient. Also since I needed to come and go several times the valet parking was quick and convenient.
• I found my room noisy at night.

• Great location, very comfortable, nicely decorated, well worth the money.
• The pool was a little bit dirty and kind of small.

“Stayed in beautiful suite. The view was fantastic and the room was clean and it had great lighting and great furniture. Heavenly Bed was so comfortable. The double show head was so relaxing and felt so good on my back. The pool was a little bit small and a little bit dirty though. Overall I had a great stay at the Westin in Providence.”

• Very clean and elegant. Close to mall and restaurants.
• Smaller room sizes.

“The Westin is probably the nicest hotel in the city. The lobby, common area and rooms are very well decorated and clean. The hotel is attached to the providence place mall via a Skybridge and next to Waterplace Park. Federal hill is a cab ride away for dining.”

• Room seemed not as modern as expected.

“The hotel is in a prime location with a walk bridge to the huge mall there in providence. It, however, lacked comfort in the room itself. The phone didn't work, the shower seemed dirty and the twin heads were mounted incorrectly (they leaked). I was impressed with everything about the hotel except the room itself.”

• Reservation staff was welcoming.
• Did not clean our room and had to call for towels.

“Ok. Would have preferred to have the staff clean the room without asking. Hot water was at a minimum the first 2 days.”

• Great location next to Providence Place Mall.
• Pool out of order until early December.

“My wife expected a certain level of service at a Westin and unfortunately, we were disappointed. Pool was under renovation and we were told we could go to the Courtyard or Hilton a few blocks away. Not a very good suggestion when its winter in New England. Hotel staff unhelpful and manager did not return calls!”

• Decor in rooms beautiful.
• Difficult to find entrance because of construction; poor signage.

“Although somewhat difficult to Navigate the confusing one way downtown streets of providence, once you figure out how to get to the hotel ( centrally located, but we mistakenly ended up on rte 95 twice when trying to find the entrance to the hotel), your efforts will be well rewarded. Beautiful rooms, helpful staff, it's all there. Jut down the hill from brown and rise, and walking distance to water fire and downtown restaurants and the providence place mall, the Westin has a great location ( despite providence's confusing downtown streets). The late afternoon coffee, cider and sweet pastries spread in the lobby were an unexpected bonus.”

• I found the staff at the providence Westin to be very professional and friendly.
• When you self park (the less expensive alternative) you are unable to put the parking on your room tab as was stated in the in room service brochure.

“The hotel is beautiful and the staff excellent. From a personal standpoint, I was unpleasantly surprised that they allow non service dogs in the hotel. I was greatly disturbed by a barking dog in another room. I did complain to the staff and while there wasn't much they could do, they were sympathetic and they offered me complimentary breakfast.”

• Convenient, attractive, and many amenities.
• When we called the hotel, we were told they had free parking. They didn't - $17/day.

“If you go to Providence, the Westin is the place to stay. Many good restaurants are within walking distance and you can visit the Mall and Convention Center by walkway - without going outside. The hotel restaurant, though pricy, is excellent. The pool is a nice feature and the coffee shop had great pastry and free WI-FI.”

• The room was spacious, clean and welcoming.
• I did not like paying 22$ dollars a night for parking and then tipping the valets who were standing around and chatting with one another.

• Appreciated complementary wireless internet in lobby & lounge.
• Pool was not more than a 4ft wading pond & unfit for exercise.

“Having to visit on a busy providence weekend, I was very happy to find a centrally located upscale hotel in walking distance to college hill. I was specifically happy to find a hotel with a pool, as I swim for exercise daily, but was disappointed to find a ridiculously small 'relaxation' pool. I used the fitness room instead, which was nice, but not my usual workout. I appreciated access around the clock, as I enjoyed the providence nightlife with friends. The constantly staffed entrance and front desk proved very welcoming. The Westin is currently adding a condo complex, but I was surprised to see the daily routine at the hotel was uninterrupted by the construction. The sky bridge access to the providence place mall, although convenient and safe, invites a constant stream of pedestrians through the hotel.”

• The beds were really comfortable and the shower was amazing.
• The location was not convenient for sightseeing. We always had to drive.

• Wonderful "heavenly bed."
• Poor shower water pressure; ongoing, horrible construction site.

“This downtown hotel could be a superior 5-star luxury experience. However, the amenities, single restaurant, lack of any sort of convenience shops, and the construction associated with the adjoining Westin residential tower that appears to be an endless nightmare, all contribute to a less than luxury hotel.”

• Pool was horrendous, dirty. Extra cost for parking.

“The Westin providence was very convenient to local attractions and it was a very beautiful hotel inside. However, the pool was extremely dirty looking and seemed to have a film on top of it. I had intended on using the pool but didn't once I have a look at it. Overall the hotel was nice but I was seriously disappointed with the pool.”

• It was quiet and clean, and the staff was helpful and very courteous. The location is great!
• The heavenly beds in our room were not any where near as comfortable as our Westin heavenly bed at home and in other Westin's we've stayed in.

“Overall, positive experience. Would definitely stay here again. Liked having a star bucks in the lobby.”

• "Heavenly Beds" are acronym for "Cheap Mattresses".

“Pleasant hotel conveniently located near I 95. The lobby is neat and well maintained. Reception meets your needs. Prepare for a hefty parking bill (22.00 per day) and internet connection fee (10.00 per day) otherwise, your standard Marriott sort of place.”

• Easy to get to, attached to mall and convention center.
• $17/day parking, expensive room service, dark room/bathroom, room felt dirty.

“Only the price and location were 4-star. We felt itchy in the bed linens, and it took 2 complaints to get them changed. The bathroom and room felt dark and dirty. We had a 2 night stay, but they tried to evict us after the 1st day in error, knocking at the door at 8pm. Cleaning crew came at 4:30p one day and 10a the next. $17 per day for parking and they would not validate. Could not find ice or vending machines on floor. Very disappointed.”

• The location was great. The room was large and the comfortable.
• The bell staff was slow. I waited over 20 minutes for my car and bags and they were too busy to be bothered with being nice.

“Can never go wrong with the Westin. The beds and linens are always the most comfortable. The location of this hotel was very convenient to all attractions. The construction in the front of the hotel made it somewhat inconvenient.”

• Took too long to have our car brought out - approx 25 minutes.

“The hotel is clean and attractive, from the common areas to the rooms. The employees go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Its location in the heart of Providence would seem to make it a better choice for business than for leisure travelers.”

• I liked the room once we upgraded.
• One paid for everything, and paid well: internet, bottled water, etc.

“The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the workout room. Once we upgraded to a larger room, we enjoyed it as well. The restaurant had a very limited menu and was expensive, too expensive. The pull out sofa in one room (we had two rooms for the four of us) was hard and horrible. The sheets on the beds were like straw, even my 14 year old son complained and the other son woke up every morning with a chapped face. I would not stay here again. It is more suited for expense accounts and businessmen.”

“This hotel is fabulous. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The facilities are gorgeous and spotless. A four-star hotel in a town of less than 200,000 residents is something. We had a wonderful time and will recommend this hotel to everyone we know.”

• $20pp Sunday brunch was good but service marginal.
• Children unfriendly.

“Families should not consider staying at this hotel. It is very children unfriendly. There are no common spaces and the staff are vigalent with the "no's." Pool closes at 7pm on Sunday according to staff because "it is Sunday." I asked if they gave refunds for less service on Sunday, but they suggested we get over it. Location is great - at the Civic Center and next to the mall. Do not use their Valet, since you can self-park for $8 and be closer to the elevators.”

• Superb location, close to fine restaurants and shopping.
• Hard to locate entrance with all the construction going on around it.

“I stayed at the west in for two days on business and couldn't have asked for a better location. Everything including work was within two minute walking distance. Parking was convenient and the accommodations quiet and excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful and the restaurant was very good. There was so many other fine restaurants close by it was difficult to make a choice on where to dine. The hotel is connected by skywalk to the mall. What more could you ask for? The only minor inconvenience was the construction going on around the hotel entrance made it hard to find. Great place! I will stay here again.”

“We, a family of five on vacation and using two rooms, stayed consecutively in three west in hotels located in Philadelphia, Boston (waterfront) and providence. The experience at the providence location was the best because of the hotel's friendly staff, location and the adjacent mall connected by an enclosed walkway.”

• The pool set up was awesome - Jacuzzi attached to the pool! Genius! Close to kids.
• Lobby area was cold because of the doors and there were lovely couches to sit on and relax/read but it was too cold. Maybe add some fireplaces?

“It was lovely. The pool and Jacuzzi were awesome! The beds and rooms were great. I wanted to stay longer! My two daughters kept saying they were "in heaven"! My two complaints are that room service forgot our order and we waited about an hour and 20 minutes for dinner. To make it up to us dinner was free which was nice and the food was great. The other small issue was that the ice machine on our floor was broken but the staff offered to bring us ice if it was inconvenient to go to another floor for ice. So all in all any issues we had were immediately rectified. It was so awesome!”

“This is my second stay at the hotel and I very much enjoyed i.e. was very early and my room was not ready, but the staff was polite and got me into a room as soon as one was available (and before check-in time). location is great. Right in the heart of providence. attached to the mall by a walkway, so there was always something to do. And everyone was friendly and kind¿s enjoyed it and would gladly stay there again.”
