“Excellent value - great location across the street from the Mystic Aquarium (and a Starbucks). Rooms are updated with duvets on the beds, and very clean. I thought it was a new hotel and was surprised to hear that it was 25 years old.”

“We were extremely please with the hotel and the room. It was huge and luxurious. The heating system was strange. If you had the heat on and then shut it down, the thermostat then reverted to a much cooler range cooling the room down immediately. Didn't seem to hold the heat. I would definitely recommend hotel to anyone.”

• The room was quite large and comfortable.
• The front desk was understaffed and not very friendly.

“In short, we liked the room and the location of the hotel. The front desk staff was not as friendly as we expected for a Hilton, but they were helpful. The restaurant was limited for breakfast, unless you wanted the buffet. It was also New Year's Eve and there was no special meal planned, just appetizers and music in the bar. We expected more.”

• Convenient to area attractions. Easy to get to. Nicely decorated and clean. Nice indoor pool area. Fast and friendly check in/out.

“Although my husband and I came here for a quick get away. We will definitely be back with the kids. The hotel is located near many family friendly attractions and has a nice heated indoor pool area that we will utilize with them. We will definitely be back! The staff was courteous and friendly and our room was spacious and clean and the king size bed was very comfortable!”

• Hotel was a mess due to construction, parking lot pitch black at night.

“Since this was a Hilton Hotel I was staying at, my expectations were on the high side. However, the experience was disappointing from the moment of check in. There were consumed room service plates and cups on the floor in front of our door. The room we were initially assigned reeked of smoke even though it was supposedly a smoke-free hotel. Not a great start. The front desk was "surprised" by the smell (of smoke in the room) and the dirty dishes outside the door. We were moved to another room in the back of the hotel which was very inconvenient due to the distance from the only elevator in the hotel. Also, along the way to this second room, there was wallpaper peeling from the wall and the floor moldings had been removed. This is not how a nice hotel should present itself! The restaurant was relocated to a ballroom because it was being renovated. Also, the parking lot was absolutely pitching black with no lights, which was kind of creepy.”

• The staff was courteous, the hotel was very clean.
• The restaurant and bar were under renovations and closed. I would have like to know this before hand.

“Because of the construction going on at the hotel, it did not fully meet my needs. No restaurant or bar in house was pleasing. The rooms were noisy from the adjacent rooms and hallway. The staff was courteous and helpful; the entire facility was very clean. The indoor pool was a bit cold.”

“One of the nicer properties within miles. Nice location and room. Room service food was good but delivered late. They refunded the charges due to the late delivery. They advertise a free shuttle to town but there was no driver on duty that night. Overall, a nice place and would stay there again.”

• The beds and linens were very comfortable, certainly high quality.
• Hotel grounds were under intense ongoing renovations. There was only one entry door.

“The beds and linens were very nice, slept extremely comfortable. We were placed in a room that had adjoining doors, and could easily hear our neighbor's television, and surely they felt the same. No refrigerator, but they provided one very promptly at $5 a night, however it was somewhat banged up and unclean. Key cards did not work properly, and room was all the way at the end of the hall, and could only be accessed from the main entry, which provided us with quite a haul back and forth to the car. The staff was very helpful, and this is certainly a wonderful choice for a business and conference hotel, as well as a family friendly place.”

• Nice clean room - convenient to all.
• Mattress way too soft! Woke up at 5am with back ache.

“This is a beautiful hotel - unfortunately the pool was not open because they had rented it out to a private party. It was a rainy weekend and there was not anything else to do. The people who rented it did not even use the pool just had the deck set up with dinner tables - very nice but they did not need the pool and should not have been allowed to inconvenience all the guests. This made us very unhappy and we weren't the only ones!”

• The lounge needed updating. The chairs were all ripping.

“This is an excellent hotel for the value. It is very conveniently located, and my kids loved the indoor pool. The rooms were clean, perfect for a night or two. Staff was friendly and buffet breakfast was very reasonable. (kids ate free). I would definitely recommend this hotel for a quick visit to Mystic.”

• It was the best deal with the best location that I have ever experienced.
• Coffee in the lobby is not included in this package.

“Have to say that right by I-95, the hotel itself represented a quiet and serene stay. It offered walking to the aquarium, star bucks, Japanese food, hairdressers and plenty of shopping.”

• The beds were very comfortable with fluffy pillows, pillow top mattress and quality linens.
• The door to the room didn't have a snug fit in the jam making the hallway lights visible in the room and noise from the hallway disturbed sleep.

“Our stay was very short, just and overnight but we enjoyed our visit. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful. The restaurant was great.”

• It was conveniently located.
• How about, no free continental breakfast.

“If you need to be centrally located, this was good. However, housekeeping was a very obvious pretense despite the fact that the tissue box was practically empty upon arrival and was never filled. Also, we were not given fresh water glasses or a ice bucket liner bag. The pool was very small and was overly chlorinated. If a business person who stayed planned to be able to swim laps, forget it. Also, tall people beware, the beds are very short for supposedly doubles. I also went to a loot of trouble to pick out which hotels we wanted and to check their ratings. I guess I'm just a peon but if the holiday Inn can serve some muffins and juice free with the room and available right there in the lobby to grab on your way out the door, the Hilton should. If you are going to Mystic and want to stay in a nice hotel, try the AmeriSuites- beds sized for grown-ups, bigger rooms, just as centrally located and they include breakfast in the room price, one that even involves bacon and eggs and a make your own waffle machine.”

“This is the best hotel in the Mystic area. Period. They've renovated and upgraded the rooms, beds have higher quality linens and comfy mattresses and pillows. Nice restaurant, bar, lobby area. And right across the street from the aquarium! This is now the best Hilton I've stayed in, and I've been in a lot of them.”

• I'm sorry to say we arrived during a blackout and that is why I rated our stay a 7.

“The Hilton Mystic is the premier hotel in this area of Connecticut. Conveniently located across the street from outlet shops and the very quaint Mystic Village. It is only a short distance to Mystic Seaport. It is a very beautiful hotel with chandeliers, a heated indoor pool, exercise facility, restaurant and bar for evening entertainment. The hotel provides free shuttle service on the weekends to the Fox woods casino, and is approximately 20 to 30 minutes away, by car, from Mohegan Sun Casino. Travel is very convenient as it is only a few blocks from the main highways. Rooms are spacious and have been recently redone. There are numerous banquet rooms available for any type of function you may require. Parking on premises is plentiful with valet service if desired. There restaurant serves both breakfast and dinner at competitive prices. There were many families there during our stay, so they are obviously kid friendly. Despite the power outage when we were there, the staff rose above expectations and were as friendly and accommodating as any hotel we have ever been in. I would rate this a 5 star hotel and recommends it to anyone traveling in this area.”
