“Nice hotel. Pleasant informative staff. Comfortable room. No noise entered room from corridor. Bar restaurant expensive and staff did not pay attention to guests. Concierge helpful. Bellhops very helpful, and pleasant. Room had good amenities. Sofa nice touch. Wireless rates high.”

• Bellhop extra helpful and friendly, bed super comfortable.

“Beautiful hotel, just off exit 88. Although big, the rooms were very quiet. Lobby very attractive and front desk helpful. Bellhops very good and informative. Directions to many locations already prepared for guests. Skip restaurants. Very expensive and not worth it, except Breakfast Buffet. Indoor Pool area nice, with outdoor seating available. Decent fitness room, with TV's.”

• Smallest pool I have ever seen at a hotel.

“The pull out couch was not comfortable. The kids complained. The pool was extremely small, max capacity was 37 people in a hotel with 285 rooms. That was disappointing. We ate in the casual restaurant and were very disappointed with the food, do not eat here!”

• No one asked if I wanted a valet or cart when unloading.

• The staff was snooty or nonexistent.

“We went for breakfast and they had a skeletal crew working and it took a long time to get coffee or juice and the next day we went back for breakfast the same thing happened, but this time I never received my tea. Rooms were clean, but views were horrible.”

• Great for us to travel to the beach and other attractions. Very clean and comfortable.
• The walls were so thin, you could hear the people in the next room asking if they wanted more powdered donuts, walls with no insulations.

“I think overall the hotel was very nice. The room and bathroom looked new (very clean). The room was very comfortable. The only drawback was that the walls were not insulated enough and we could hear all the conversation the next room was having. We could hear people talking late into the evening and then early in the morning. Also, housekeeping knocked on our door two mornings at 8:45 am. There wasn't a door knob sign to hang out that said do not disturb. We were awoken by housekeeping those two mornings.”

• Location is great to explore SW Connecticut and Rhode Island.
• Housekeeping after the first night was very sloppy.

“Hotel is in great location to explore the coast in CT and RI. Room was spacious and well equipped, unfortunately the rooms on the second floor are all overlooking the roof of the banquet room. Try to request a room on a higher floor.”

• The room was very spacious. It would be great for a family.
• Cheap art work? Nothing important!

“The only thing I have to say is that the hotel had cheap artwork. Everything else about the hotel was very nice. It was a little farther from Mohegan Sun Casino than I would have preferred but it was worth the drive!”

• Nice amentias, 24 hr snack shop.
• Adult only swim during early morning (my kids wake at 6:30 a.m.)

“Very nice hotel and amenities. Easy to get to Mystic attractions. Only complaint was the adult only swim time. It was from 6-8 a.m. My kids woke at 6:30 and had to wait 1 1/2 hours before they could go to the pool!”

• The work out facility, star bucks.
• Requested a refrigerator but had to be put on a waiting list. We did however receive one the following night. TV Stations inadequate as well as TV.

“The Hotel is a 4 star so the room was nicely furnished, bed and pillows comfortable, bathroom had granite countertops/bath and body works amenities, housekeeping seemed to have been understaffed on certain days in room comp coffee terrible the pool was "unexpectedly closed" when we arrived because it needed "shocked" they did however open it that evening thank goodness because the hotel was filled with children on Spring Break. Overall experience was good. The television stations available were inadequate. This is 2008. They need to upgrade TV and Stations available.”

• Nice clean hotel for reasonable price.
• Pool area was dirty, other patrons of hotel did not pick-up after themselves -dirty towels and trash left strewn around.

“We stayed here (one night) for a short getaway with our children during their school break. It's close to mystic attractions, has a decent sized indoor pool, and is quiet and very clean. Only drawback was that other families using the pool area left dirty, wet towels and trash strewn about the pool area. Has a nice fitness gym adjacent to pool. We would definitely stay here again.”

• Was nothing like what I would expect from a four star hotel. Very old school Holiday Inn.

“This hotel is your basic run of the mill hotel. I'm assuming that it got a 4 star rating because it has a spa and a restaurant; however, this should not be the reason for this rating. There was nothing to this hotel as far as wow factor. The only nice thing about it is that it was newer.”

• There is nothing not to like.

“My husband and I stay here often; it is like pulling in our driveway when we arrived. The staff in incredible. I have had offers from one to even run to a local store and buy and item I was missing. The restaurant and room service are always perfect and reliable. The pool and workout area are always working and clean. The spa can relax even the most stress out. Best of all you can rely on this for every visit. It is a vacation under one roof. You will not be disappointed.”

• The size of the room and its facilities were great!
• The house keeping staff was not very reliable.

“We arrived very late, thus making our exit the next day an afternoon one instead of morning. Housekeeping services knew what time we would be leaving and never made up our room for us. Thus, we stayed two nights in a room that never received fresh towels or cleaning. when we asked for things from the front desk we got them very quickly and without any hassle; but it's much more comfortable returning to a clean room.”

“We stayed here to go to Mohegan Sun. I called 3 time to ask about the shuttle and all 3 times they just gave me the times that the shuttle leaves. No one did they say that we had to book a spot on the shuttle nor did they tell us that it was $30 a person. When we got there then they tell us that the shuttle is booked and we couldn't go until almost midnight? How do they fail to tell you this three times. This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. We asked for later check out, does an extra hour really apply? Overall the hotel is nice and clean. The hotel wasn't my expectations of a 4 star hotel. It is a good place to stay as long as you don't encounter the no information problem we had.”

• Not only was there no hangers in the closet, but there was no closet rod to hang anything on.

“The hotel was wonderful in every way except in our room not only were there no hangers in the closet, there was no closet rod to hang anything on - no rod at all! Also, there was a handicapped shower that had a handheld shower mechanism that was really lame. For such an expensive spa like hotel, the shower was just horrible. Also there was no refrigerator in our room, which I would have expected in a resort/spa facility such as this. The lobby and facilities were amazing and the staff was wonderful. They allowed us a very late check out which was very welcome.”

• Immaculate. The staff is incredible , the room service was wonderful, the restaurant was great.
• There is nothing not to like about this hotel.

“My husband and I have stayed here many times, its like arriving to a second home. We are well traveled and have found this hotel hard to beat. The service, room, food are all well done. Kudos to the staff of this hotel.”

“This hotel was very clean and very comfortable to stay at. The bathroom had everything you needed. The other thing I liked it was right off the interstate which was very convenient. Parking was also free which is a bonus at a quality hotel like this is. I would highly recommend this hotel.”

• The room service was amazing.
• The location was a bit remote and the room I was given overlooked the mechanical components on the roof.

“Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The rooms were nice, however the hallways were a tad bit noisy, from time to time, with children running around all over the place and my room didn't have much of a view. It just overlooked the roof above the conference sections. Other than that, it was perfect. The beds were comfortable, and the room itself was beautiful.”

• The whirlpool tub and the bathroom were luxurious. The bed was comfortable. The restaurant was excellent.
• The rooms were small, too many kids being loud, they allowed children in the pool during adult only swim time.

“This hotel was very nice. I would rate it about 3 1/2 stars. For the price it costs I feel that it is a bit too pricey. But it has some great amenities the bathroom has a large 2 person whirlpool/Jacuzzi. The bed is very comfortable. The restaurant was delicious! All in all it was a nice place. The down side was the room was pretty small and the other down side if you are going for a romantic getaway beware as there are a lot of kids there when I went so it was loud.”

• The spacious room with a sitting area and comfortable mattress and blankets.
• All food service closed at midnight with no alternatives close by.

“The stay was pleasant. The room was a good size with comfortable bedding. The additional seating area was very nice, so we could sit somewhere other than the bed or floor. My only complaint was the food service. We returned from our event around midnight hoping to have a light dinner or appetizers, but the kitchen had already closed. There are no other late-night dining options in the area. I'm sure there are many guests that come from New York and Boston, where dining after midnight is routine. I would stay here again, but would be sure to pack some snacks!”

• No refrigerator in the room.

“The hotel is beautiful and the room was very nice. We loved that there was a star-bucks coffee in the building. We were traveling with 2 young children (ages 2 and 4) and the hotel room was clean and spacious. The only negative is that there was no refrigerator in the room, which would have been helpful for sippy cups, juice and milk for the kids.”

• Very nice accommodations.
• Our room was not ready when we arrived. We had to wait for 15 minutes in the lobby.

“The hotel was great. The only unpleasant aspect of the visit was that we had to wait about 15 minutes for our room and we arrived well after the listed check-in time. Because of the delay, we were late for a dinner date. I would definitely stay here again though.”

• The lobby is beautiful! Everything in the hotel is new and/or well maintained.
• I would love to see refrigerators standard in every room.

“You can expect friendly and helpful staff when staying at the Marriott Mystic Hotel and Spa. It is beautifully decorated and kept immaculate. Trust me. I'm an obsessive cleaner, and I felt right at home. The pool was lots of fun to come back to after visiting the Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration. However, I felt the lighting to be a bit dim. I've stayed at this hotel at least three times in the last five years, and I'm sure I'll be back.”

• Pool area could be a little nicer for a 4 star hotel.

“The hotel is kept up well and has a full share of amenities. If it was a 3 star hotel, I'd give it rave reviews. When it comes to 4 stars though, I expect a little something extra, and I wasn't really seeing that (but for the expensive restaurant and spa attached).”
