- The spacious room with a sitting area and comfortable mattress and blankets.
- All food service closed at midnight with no alternatives close by.
“The stay was pleasant. The room was a good size with comfortable bedding. The additional seating area was very nice, so we could sit somewhere other than the bed or floor. My only complaint was the food service. We returned from our event around midnight hoping to have a light dinner or appetizers, but the kitchen had already closed. There are no other late-night dining options in the area. I'm sure there are many guests that come from New York and Boston, where dining after midnight is routine. I would stay here again, but would be sure to pack some snacks!”

- No refrigerator in the room.
“The hotel is beautiful and the room was very nice. We loved that there was a star-bucks coffee in the building. We were traveling with 2 young children (ages 2 and 4) and the hotel room was clean and spacious. The only negative is that there was no refrigerator in the room, which would have been helpful for sippy cups, juice and milk for the kids.”

- Our room was not ready when we arrived. We had to wait for 15 minutes in the lobby.
“The hotel was great. The only unpleasant aspect of the visit was that we had to wait about 15 minutes for our room and we arrived well after the listed check-in time. Because of the delay, we were late for a dinner date. I would definitely stay here again though.”

- The lobby is beautiful! Everything in the hotel is new and/or well maintained.
- I would love to see refrigerators standard in every room.
“You can expect friendly and helpful staff when staying at the Marriott Mystic Hotel and Spa. It is beautifully decorated and kept immaculate. Trust me. I'm an obsessive cleaner, and I felt right at home. The pool was lots of fun to come back to after visiting the Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration. However, I felt the lighting to be a bit dim. I've stayed at this hotel at least three times in the last five years, and I'm sure I'll be back.”

- I didn't get to see the whole hotel, but I liked what I saw.
- Room could have been a little tidier.
“I didn't get to check out the pool and spa area, but I did like the quality of the food selection, the welcome ness of the main entrance area, and the whirlpool bathtub in my room. Overall experience was great but the price for 1 night my have not been 100% worth it.”

- I liked the whirlpool tub in our room very comforting.
- The lay out is not convent to access all room need more elevators.

The only issue I had was the hotel layout, if your room is not near the elevators you have to walk about 1/2 a mile to get to it. Over the entire decor was pleasant & the service terrific. - Staff was extremely helpful, concierge service by bell stand was as good as independent concierge at upscale city hotels and very friendly.
- Off highway location was more typical of lower priced motels but internal to the facility was very pleasant and spacious with good services.
“This hotel is nicely located for day tours in the area with easy access to interstate and local roadways. The staff was very friendly and helpful with local service, restaurant and tourist information. We did not try the on-site spa. Restaurant for breakfast was quite good - in line with resort Marriott's. Location was not exciting and the available on-site activities were not resort level. If your plan is day trips, this is an ideal hotel at a very good price.”

- Room not ready at 3PM, desk argued that check-in was 4pm. WRONG!
“After making us wait a couple hours beyond the contracted check-in time, they had the nerve to put us in a room that started out with overpowering air-freshener scent that only diminished during the night to the pungent odor of vomit. Carpets were wet, the odor lingered; they shampoo them again the second day, but the odor remained. Aside from the noisy lobby and the room odor, everything else was top notch and just what I'd expect from a Marriott. But this isn't the luxury hotel that some have claimed. It's a solid 4* hotel, but not opulent. I would stay here again, but I would be wary of wet carpeting and lingering odors.”

“We called around 2 pm to inform the hotel that we would be checking in late. We arrived around midnight. They told me that they had no more rooms left. It was horribly irresponsible. They didn't bother to call me. They were completely rude.”

- No one paid any attention to us when we drove up.
“The only negative experience was the lack of bus boys when we arrived. Parked our own car and took our own luggage up. Not what we expected from a 4-5 star hotel. Everything else was great. The Arden Salon, the exercise/pool areas and the restaurant we all great. The staff was very helpful when needed. Plenty of parking and great location to everything we did.”

- The Mystic Marriott is a grand hotel, with an impressive lobby, polite staff, and has well-appointed rooms.
- Our room was missing shampoo. The bottled water was $4.00 per bottle.
“The hotel has an impressive lobby area. I was very pleased with the room, especially for the price. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was well-appointed generally speaking. However, it had an ugly view of a blacktop roof. If we were paying full price and were spending more time in the room, we would not have been pleased about this. We only stayed one night for a wedding and did not spend much time in the room. Overall, I felt that the price we paid (a little less than half the quoted price) was well worth it.”

“A truly nice hotel. The room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and nicely appointed. The pool, whirlpool and exercise facilities were terrific. The lobby is welcoming and attractive with lots of casual seating. The Starbucks kiosk, hotel bar and restaurant were all very convenient and service was very good. The breakfast buffet at $14 p/p was excellent. Fresh, fresh food and worth the money. I was very impressed with this hotel; would recommend it to others and would stay there again myself.”

- Not very family accommodating I have a small child that can only eat specific foods. It was always a huge problem to heat up her food.
“The hotel was great. However, this was the first time I traveled there with my infant daughter. I needed to heat her bottles and warm her foods and every time it was a huge hassle. The staff tried to be helpful but it was an odyssey every time since they had to ask permission every time to their superiors for them to do so. They should have microwaves and other family friendly equipment available.”

- I loved the friendliness of the staff, the night crew too and their willingness to accommodate our requests. We had a wonderful time.
“My husband and I visited the Mystic Marriott Hotel and Spa for our first wedding anniversary in September, due in part to its close proximity to the wineries and Mystic Seaport. Every minute of our stay was enjoyable. The staff was wonderful and even offered us a free room upgrade upon arrival. We greatly appreciated the 24 hour health club access and late evening hours for the pool and Jacuzzi. We slept soundly both nights and were even allowed to check out late on Sunday. My thanks go out to the staff for making our first anniversary so relaxing and memorable.”

- The location was close to Mystic. The staff was friendly. The rooms were comfortable and the beds were out of this world.
“This is not only an excellent hotel if you are visiting nearby attractions, but also as a stand-alone destination. The spa and resort makes this an excellent getaway from a busy lifestyle and the rooms and beds were extremelly comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel based on my experience.”

- Pool area was nice, room & bath clean, Starbucks in lobby.
- Cleaner smell in room upon arrival.
“The hotel is convenient to Mystic sites. The lobby is inviting and bright. The hotel is clean. There are towels at the pool area. It is a relaxing hotel. Starbucks in lobby. Next time I would like to try spa and breakfast at restaurant.”

“One of the few (maybe the only) very nice hotels near the Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. Everything else is budget quality or below. I will try to stay here each time I come to this area.”

- very much worth the 4 star rating, close to Mystic 5 minute drive
- Indoor pool extremely smelled of chemicals
