“If you're looking for a charming look and a classic New England location, the Lighthouse Inn Resort is a good. The dark, Victorian interior makes it look like a set for a creepy movie, but that is also part of its charm. Our experience with the bathroom fixtures and appointments was less than perfect and don't use the shampoo they provide you with, its called Coastal Breeze or something like that and it makes you smell like a wet dog! We also discovered that we were not impressed with sleep number beds, but if they are your thing.” Jul 18, 2008 by

“The Lighthouse Inn was fantastic. A nice little mansion turned into a hotel, in a quiter part of town just a block from a private beach. The only thing bad about the beach was that the inn supplied chairs which they did not at the beach, and at the beach it seems the hotel patrons were treated as second class compared to beach members it was a little off putting so we left the beach. Also there seemed to be no air conditioning in the hallways making travel to your room a little irritating. There was also no clear enterance/chek in are, we entered a door that from the outside would have appeared to belong to the restaurant attached to the hotel. Other than that everything was fantastic. DVD player in the room was a bonus as we had brought some DVDs with us. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.” Oct 23, 2007 by

“The hotel was lovely, everyone was friendly and accommodating. The room was very hot the air condition did not work they raised the windows but did not help. They could not find my reservations. They did not offer to change me to another room. I did not get any sleep and think my money should be refunded.” Mar 30, 2005 by

“The hotel is in an excellent location. Charming back roads with spectacular views of the sound. The hotel had a continental breakfast that was not the best but they were kind enough to point out a local eatery called the Broken Yoke. Our stay was solidified by our experience at the Broken Yoke. The locals were so friendly and the food was great. Our thanks to the hotel and the staff for pointing us in the right direction. Thanks for a great stay!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 3, 2005 by

“The hotel itself was were you are getting your 3 star rating! We (2couples) stayed in the (carrige house)-which was nothibg but a large carrige house converted into a hotel. The heat was controled by the owners(hot water baseboard)1 room was 70 degrees and the other was 55degrees. I have regestered a complaint with your people when we returned from this experence!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 23, 2005 by

“The Lighthouse Inn and Resort was a wonderful place to say and I believe that it would be even more delightful in the summer time. The rooms were very clean and the main house of the resort was gorgeous. The beach and Long Island Sound provide wonderful views and the surrounding community could fit in a small New England town perfectly. I would definitely stay here again.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 23, 2005 by

“an old mansion, converted into a hotel. Feb 2, 2005 by

“Loved the way off highway location. Incredible views of Sound and easy walking access to private beach. Great hotel with lots of interesting history. Within 20-30 minutes of the casinos and Mystic. Great break from the cookie-cutter hotel stay! Only negative is that the hotel is just about due for an interior makeover. Some of the areas had musty/mildew odors. Overall, good value.” Dec 22, 2004 by
Barbara M. from Millbrook “Although the mansion might have been a 3 star motel room, the carriage house, where our room was, was very small, and the hallway leading to it had dirty carpeting and broken furniture. The room itself was clean but the "antiques" in the room were not the greatest. The carriage house should not be listed as a 3 star but maybe a two star. If you request a 3 star, the mansion should be the room you get not the carriage house.” Dec 1, 2004 by
Eric B. from Monson “1902 tavern was excellent” Hotel Representatives:
