• Very customer friendly staff.
• Limited menu.

“I will book it every time I travel to CT. I have stayed in a few hotels surrounding Hartford and by far this is the best. No continental breakfast. Limited dinner menu at restaurant but very friendly staff, likewise the front desk staff at check in were fast and very friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean. Rated as 2.5 star but room reminded me of Mohegan Sun.”

• Friendly, Clean, I liked it a lot.
• We went out one day and came back around 2:00 pm and our room wasn't cleaned yet, but it wasn't a big deal.

“I am impressed with the hotel and I appreciate the fact that the lady who checked me in gave me and my guest a free breakfast voucher. I really like that stuff. I'd come back for sure.”

• Free internet and helpfulness of staff to accommodate my accessing it.
• The internet signal was weak at one end of the hall so I had to change rooms. Noisy air conditioner.

“This was a comfortable hotel and though the staff was helpful, they were not always cheerful. It is away from Downtown Hartford and shows its age. The room is ordinary and not memorable but satisfactory. Overall, it was a short, but comfortable stay.”

• Climate control loud and I was never comfortable, too hot, and too cool.

“Nice place. Needs some TLC but its ok. All was good except two luggage carts for how many floors? Ridiculous and very inconvenient as it was never available and doing art shows, we all needed help with our luggage and work. All the hotels are doing this and I think it is very shortsighted of them. The climate control had me hot, and then cold. Not good, should be a new type of system; everything else was fine.”

• This is a 2 star hotel with a service of 1 star.
• The restaurant is not full fledged. The break fast does not have a variety of veg items.

“Their response looks is not good when they saw that the price paid is very less for that room. Their staff is very less and in the night their response is very poor. They do need a good restaurant with more food options at a reasonable price. Especially the break fast.”

“Well at the front desk check in I waited 20 min. There was 1 man doing maybe 5 jobs. I had 18 people with me waiting it was horrible. My check in took 4 min. Because I was prepaid already online. So u can imagine my frustration.”

• The rooms were very nice.
• Smelly halls. One front desk person was snotty. We avoided the staff because of him.

“We only crashed there at night. We felt conspicuous because one front desk member was snotty. We had four people in the room. He knew it and perhaps resented it. His attitude made us feel unwelcome. We slunk out in the morning and back at night. We tried to avoid interacting with them. This makes it hard to rate the hotel. He made us feel awkward.”

• The housekeeping staff was great, the pool area and exercise room were well kept.
• I called in advance for a fridge, I was promised it but it wasn't in the room when I arrived. I had to request one several time before it was deliver.

• The staff was incredibly rude. I had late night check in and waited over twenty minutes until someone came to the front desk to register me.

“This hotel reminded me of a recent experience at a GAP store. The hotel was nice, the location was good, the bed was fine but the experience with the rude staff ruined the overall experience. The man that checked me in was homophobic and if I hadn't paid for the room in advance would have left. Another time there were four people behind the front desk talking about there weekend plans while 6 of us were waiting in line for assistance.”

• Bathroom shower sprayed all over the bathroom soaking everything in sight had to change rooms.

“I was most disappointed that the shower was broken which I did not find until I was in it. It was very disconcerting to have to pack up and move to a new room right after just settling in.”

“I specifically requested a non-smoking room, but was placed in a "non-smoking" room surrounded by smoking rooms, where the hallway reeked of smoke and the room smelled extremely musty. I am pregnant and my husband is allergic to smoke. I wouldn't stay in this hotel again.”

• The hotel staff was excellent.
• 100% satisfied.

“First, I needed a true handicapped accessible room. The staff got me one. Then I need a room that had two beds for the wife and kids. The staff moved us and we were good to go. We had a leaking sink told the staff and it was fixed ASAP. Then I dropped my wallet with lots of cash inside and one of the housekeepers found it and returned it with everything still in it. Wow doesn't happen much but thankfully the staff is super and honest. 100% recommended & the family will stay here when we visit. Thank you to all the staff at Holiday Inn East Hartford!!!”

• Sheets are poor quality - some worse than others.

“For a 2 star hotel it is very nice, but there are a few problems. I've stayed there a few times recently and the worse thing is the sheets. They use low quality sheets, and one set I had was just uncomfortable. If I hadn't arrived so late I would have requested a new set, because even though they all appear to be low quality, some are worse than others. Too bad, because it really ruins the quite comfortable fluffy pillows they have. The room size is good - one style bigger than the other, but both decent sized. The curtains are thick and close well to keep out the light. There are some wear and tear issues, but minimal and not enough to affect your stay. They have a variety of shower heads, some better than others. Some of the showers are very narrow - they need to invest in those curved shower curtain rods to give more room without having the shower curtain attacking you. The pool could use a refresh, it is not very enticing. They also don't supply many pool towels, so be sure to check before getting wet. The only thing in close walking distance is the Mexican Restaurant Margarita's which is across the street. Would be a good hotel to attend a game at Rentschler Field, which is a short walk up and over the highway.”

“We found the evening desk clerk, Andrew, pretty snobbish. He had a pretty snooty attitude. No microwaves or refrigerators available. This Holiday Inn does not meet our expectations and does not measure up to other Holiday Inns we have stayed in. Plus the pillows are like hard rocks.”

“The room was a smoking room, which was disappointing. The mattresses were extremely sagging. I have never seen anything like it. I think this was the worse room I have ever stayed in. But, I liked being on the first floor, and the indoor pool was good. But, they really do need to replace those mattresses in that room. I almost rolled off the bed because of the slant.”

• Hotel restaurant staff inexperienced. Alarm radio inadequate.

“During snow storms, too much dirt is dragged in from the manner of which the snow is plowed using sand. It becomes muddy sludge when it thaws. It gets on your shoes. And, into the hotel lobby. The restaurant staff is very inexperienced and needs proper training.”

• The location. Its very convenient to all highways.
• I was in a smoking room and they said that I requested it, but I don't remember doing that.

“The Hotel was very nice. I wish that breakfast would have came earlier. They had on the selection 6:45-7am and we got it right at 7. I didn't really have time to eat it. Also the main light in the room didn't work, but there were other lights. But other than that it was a fine stay the staff were nice and pleasent. I would stay there again if we have another event to go to in Hartford.”
