• Nice pool and workout area.
• Nothing at all around it.

“The furniture, sheets, and towels were all in very nice shape. The workout and pool area was very good and always available.”

• The price and security.
• The bathroom needs a thorough cleaning. There was visible mold.

“Overall, I was pleased with the staff, location and the amenities. I would stay there again. Drawbacks are that the hotel needs a major overhaul. It feels and looks old and well used. The bathroom had mold at various spots. Having said all of that, it's a decent place for the price. I would stay again.”

• It smelled like cigarette smoke.

“Wi-Fi was not working. The lounge closed over an hour early on a Saturday night. The staff was rude. We were told that we could not get room service for breakfast. The restaurant only offered a buffet for breakfast, which was overpriced. The buffet ran out of food an hour before it ended and offered no substitutions for dietary needs.”

• The staff was very polite.
• They placed a $20 pending charge on my account.

“The hotel itself was very nice. However, during my stay, they placed a $20 charge on my bank account in case of any extra charges that might occur, such as phone bills, etc. While the charge was later refunded, I found it odd that they simply don't wait until any extra charges actually occur before billing a customer. Furthermore, the location was poor and the roads in the surrounding area are poorly marked.”

“The first day I stayed, they did not clean my room at all, not even change the towels. The second day after, they simply did the minimum of cleaning, the bathroom was not cleaned whatsoever.”

• Old. Stale. Unassuming but unconcerned.

“We had a good stay at this hotel, even if it's a tad dated. The bathroom had a strange substance on the popcorn ceiling but didn't smell. The AC knob was busted, but we were eventually able to shut of the unit and found ourselves to be comfortable. The location was convenient for our purpose. We slept well.”

• I would like for the hotel to be clean and smell nice.
• Dirty hallways and elevator as well as the bad smell on the floor I stayed at.

“The only things that bothered me are that the elevator and the hallways were dirty. As well as there was some bad smell in the floor I stayed at. Other than that the hotel location was good and easy to find. The stuff was friendly and accommodating.”

• The bar/lounge could use sprucing up, a happy hour time, etc.

“Perfect for me for a conference I attended at the Marriot Hotel, downtown Hartford. Took me five minutes to get there, was right off I-84, so great access. Again, perfect for the price.”

• The clothes dryer did not work. I ended up drying the clothes in the room.

• I don't like the use of "air cleaner" spray, the smell the room had on the first day.

• Limited menu.

“I will book it every time I travel to CT. I have stayed in a few hotels surrounding Hartford and by far this is the best. No continental breakfast. Limited dinner menu at restaurant but very friendly staff, likewise the front desk staff at check in were fast and very friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean. Rated as 2.5 star but room reminded me of Mohegan Sun.”

“This older hotel is acceptable for those who are on business jaunts. Restaurant seems to be non-existent and bar under stocked. Pub/bar food was good enough.”

• We went out one day and came back around 2:00 pm and our room wasn't cleaned yet, but it wasn't a big deal.

• Did not have shampoo, when asked the housekeeper did not even have shampoo.

• Free internet and helpfulness of staff to accommodate my accessing it.
• The internet signal was weak at one end of the hall so I had to change rooms. Noisy air conditioner.

“This was a comfortable hotel and though the staff was helpful, they were not always cheerful. It is away from Downtown Hartford and shows its age. The room is ordinary and not memorable but satisfactory. Overall, it was a short, but comfortable stay.”

• Climate control loud and I was never comfortable, too hot, and too cool.

“Nice place. Needs some TLC but its ok. All was good except two luggage carts for how many floors? Ridiculous and very inconvenient as it was never available and doing art shows, we all needed help with our luggage and work. All the hotels are doing this and I think it is very shortsighted of them. The climate control had me hot, and then cold. Not good, should be a new type of system; everything else was fine.”

• This is a 2 star hotel with a service of 1 star.
• The restaurant is not full fledged. The break fast does not have a variety of veg items.

“Their response looks is not good when they saw that the price paid is very less for that room. Their staff is very less and in the night their response is very poor. They do need a good restaurant with more food options at a reasonable price. Especially the break fast.”

• The rooms were very nice.
• Smelly halls. One front desk person was snotty. We avoided the staff because of him.

“We only crashed there at night. We felt conspicuous because one front desk member was snotty. We had four people in the room. He knew it and perhaps resented it. His attitude made us feel unwelcome. We slunk out in the morning and back at night. We tried to avoid interacting with them. This makes it hard to rate the hotel. He made us feel awkward.”

• The housekeeping staff was great, the pool area and exercise room were well kept.
• I called in advance for a fridge, I was promised it but it wasn't in the room when I arrived. I had to request one several time before it was deliver.

• The staff was incredibly rude. I had late night check in and waited over twenty minutes until someone came to the front desk to register me.

“This hotel reminded me of a recent experience at a GAP store. The hotel was nice, the location was good, the bed was fine but the experience with the rude staff ruined the overall experience. The man that checked me in was homophobic and if I hadn't paid for the room in advance would have left. Another time there were four people behind the front desk talking about there weekend plans while 6 of us were waiting in line for assistance.”
