• I liked the amenities shampoo and toiletries. Enjoyed ear plugs and eye mask.
• Parking was difficult with a vehicle over the height of the garage.

• The beds were comfortable.

“I booked a non stop flight from san Francisco to Boston. When I arrived at the airline I found out that the flight had a stop in Pittsburgh. I could have booked a non stop flight with jet blue for 30 dollars less. I have never experienced a change in flight plans. I wanted to exchange for a mini van. I received an email offering a mini van for $23 per day. I thought an exchange for a less expensive model shouldn't have been out of the realm. Needless to say my total experience was very unsatisfactory and I will make sure my experience is known to my colleagues.”

• We had a malfunctioning in-room safe; they fixed as soon as they were notified. Ate lunch there; surprisingly good!
• I mistakenly left a piece of medical tubing for cap machine; called them to check the room after our departure 2 times. Housekeeping not calls back.

“Nice location to the citys social and business areas. Rooms were recently redone and were very comfortable. Staff was very accommodating during our stay. Only problem was receiving a call back from them after our departure regarding a medical item we suspected we accidentally left behind in the room. We purposely rejected eating in their restaurant; we caved and ate a lunch there just prior to checking out; the food was fresh, ingredient choice was excellent, and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality.”

“Great steak, I forgot a toothbrush and one was sent to my room immediately. Overall a pleasant stay. A bit odd looking out over a pile of dirt. Kind of a bleak view from the window.”

“This was a very nice and clean hotel. The only thing I did not like after getting a great rate was being charged $15/day for parking and $5/min. For phone calls. That great rate went away quickly. I would recommend this hotel, just don't bring your car and stay off the phone.”

“Overall, it was clean, comfy and the staff was very pleasant - especially the breakfast staff. I loved the view from the 16th floor and highly recommend this hotel for people visiting Hartford for the first time. It is convenient to all highways and downtown.”

“It is a good hotel if you need to stay in downtown Hartford. There is a free city shuttle stop close by if you do not have your own car and they have convenient stops for restaurants and shopping.”

“While this is a downtown hotel, it's just far enough off the beaten path to not be convenient. It's just across a major highway that separates it from downtown. Walking did not appear to be safe after dark. The walk to public transportation would be distant and uphill. Downtown parking makes driving to "nearby" eateries and points of interest a bad option. The hotel has no gift shop for snacks and sundries. Ice and soft drinks are on alternating floors. I encountered several people on a quest for ice and soft drinks because the machines were out of order on many floors. Of the hotels in this chain in which I have stayed, this is the least appealing. There are worse options, but this was far below the expectations of the advertised location and the brand. The hotel charges for parking in a very tight garage.”

• It gets a poor safety level review because there is no valet and visitors must park in an unsecured garage.

• The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was comfortably sized.
• The bathroom needs updating. The ceiling was peeling and the tile in the shower did not appear to be clean. Parking fees $15 per night.

“A few short blocks to downtown Hartford, the Crowne Plaza was comfortably appointed. There is a shuttle available sometimes; it was not for us. The rooms were clean and comfortable but the bathrooms were not equally attractive. It needs some updating as the paint was peeling from the ceiling and the shower looked quite dirty. Parking is $15/night and the garage is not locked or guarded.”

“This hotel is an excellent location for those who just want to get off the highway for a night (as was reflected by the number of airline pilots I saw there). The beds were very comfortable as was the room temperature. It was located on the line between the business area and a not so nice neighborhood.”

• Loved the room. Clean, comfortable and TV service good.
• Unable to have full breakfast on Sunday. Grill at bar was good but not open all the time. Very disappointing.

“Bad thing, once you come off the ramp, difficult to find the entrance of the hotel garage. Both my guest and I, who traveled from different directions on 84, got lost trying to find the entrance and ended up in an area that made me, as a single woman, very nervous,. Was not aware of the night charge for the garage that ended up being an extra charge for 2 cars. Restaurant was not open in the morning for breakfast or dinner only for lunch which we were not in the hotel to see if that it ever opened. Hotel did offer continental breakfast. My overall opinion, disappointed.”

“Everyone assumes that when you visit a hotel and give them your money for simply sleeping there, you of course will be parking a car, to charge a client an extra fee of $15 and then post park at your own risk signs, that is unacceptable.”

• Convenient location, friendly staff.
• Being charged for wi-fi and no signal available! Being charged for overnight parking, I parked at Hartford Hospital overnight.

“My experience at the Crowne Plaza was positive for the most part. I was frustrated that I signed up and was charged for the use of wi-fi in my room, but ended up with no signal. I had a signal for approximately half hour only. Also it was annoying to know that the same service was complimentary in the lobby. I was paying for a room but any one could walk in to the lobby and use the service for free. I also did not park overnight in the hotel lot, I actually spent the night at the Hospital. So I paid to park at the hospital and the hotel. The room was good, the staff friendly and helpful and if I need to, I will stay there again.”

• I found it to be a pleasant experience. The eleventh floor was under construction and we didn't even really know it. except we stop there by accident.
• That they cleaned the pool at 10:00 am when my children were using the pool which made them sit out and wait until it was done. 8pm-8am it's closed

“I found this hotel to be very nice. If I'm in the Hartford area again I will stay there again. Again the only complaint it that they should clean the pool from 8pm to 8am when it's closed. Don't clean it when quest are trying to use it.”

• The beds were ridiculously comfortable.
• I did not like the fact that as a paid guest you also have to pay $15 for parking.

“The hotel staff was very friendly and even called the room once we got up there to make sure everything was okay. Everything was very clean, however, the location to the Civic Center was literally 2.5 blocks. I did not like that I had to pay for parking ($15) once I got there and the lack of real food. ”

• Nice lobby, well decorated room, quality.
• The room was VERY small. I was surprised at that, hard to get around almost!

“Lobby and room were nicely decorated and quiet. My room was great but very small which was not so great. When I booked the room I understood that I could choose the bed size and/or arrangement but could only get a king size bed. It was awkward because my adult daughter was staying with me. The staff was inflexible on this issue. That did not please me. It was sort of like "Well you get a discount price you don't necessarily get the accommodation's that you want." Not a good message to send to future customers.”

• The coffee that came with the coffeemaker, in the room

“This hotel is comfortable and attractive. The staff seem to genuinely want to ensure your satisfaction (except for one waiter in the hotel restaurant.) The chair at the desk in the room was broken and after notifying the front desk, was taken care of very promptly. Also the toilet tank ran, but I just closed the bathroom door and told the staff when I checked out. There was a little card at the desk apologizing for appearance due to renovations, but as far as I could see, they looked like they'd already been completed.”

• I liked the convenient location of the hotel and the breakfast buffet.
• I could hear the traffic outside my window and I was on the 11th floor.

“I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family. I really like the breakfast buffet and the chef who cooked me my ham and cheese omelet The room was clean and was a decent size.”

• On highway - very loud.

“The hotel was disappointing - it was on the highway and next to a train station. They took forever to bring up our crib and outside of how darn loud it was - the place was ancient and crappy furniture - a total let down for the Crowne plaza. I'm a frequent traveler and this place is bad for their image”

• It was so bad I did not check in. Your rating is way off base. I checked into the Hartford Marriott.
• Location Location. I was afraid to park my car in the area.

“No restaurants within walking distance. Had to pay for Internet Service. Had to pay $15.00 per night for parking. Unfriendly, untrained staff. They gave me a room next to the elevator. Heard it all night long. When I was checking in, another guest returned his key because they assigned him an already occupied room. Comedy of errors. Will never go back.”

• Michael at the bar was the only service oriented person.
• Rude unaccommodating staff throughout when couldn't sleep in noisy room.

“The hotel is completely mismanaged. The front desk is left unattended for long periods of time, check in is arduous, and the room I was given backed on the elevator bank. At 4 am, the newspaper delivery people stop the elevator with an emergency alarm blaring to deliver papers to all 18 floors. I couldn't sleep, and after a half hour, asked to be moved. I was told the hotel was full, which was a lie. After asking to speak with a manager, I was moved to a room at the other end of my floor at 5 am with no apology. When I arrived back that night at 1130 pm, my room had not been cleaned. The manager told me someone would be up in a half hour, without apologizing once again, nor thinking that his offer wasn't exactly the greatest for someone having an expectation of sleep after the prior night's ordeal. No compensation offered. Bizarre mentality of all staff encountered abounded, with the exception of the bartender who served late food orders.”
