• The lobby remodel and bar area looked really nice and contemporary.
• The rooms have not been upgraded like the public areas.

“My experience at this hotel was pretty poor. I was with two colleagues who were also disappointed. We all travel weekly for work. The room's HVAC was noisy, the toilet in one of my colleague's room was broken. Two of us were placed in handicapped rooms which had old and worn shower heads that were really difficult to keep from moving. The room in general seemed a little dirty.”

• Fix your credit card machine as it is a hassle.

“The stay was great and the staff was very attentive The Credit card machine seemed not to work to the knowledge of the staff. So after trying repeatedly with some "magic" all worked fine. This did sour my initial interest about what they called a recurring problem but the rest if the stay was good.”

• The only problem that I had been the hotel was recently redecorated and there was a problem with the heating system in my room.

• The style of the hotel was much more than expected.
• There was nothing. Everything was excellent.

“I would gladly stay at this hotel again. The pleasant manner of the staff, the cleanliness of the rooms all added to making my stay a great one. They are very helpful and I would gladly recommend to my colleagues and associates for either business or pleasure.”

• The staff was very friendly, hotel was clean and modern.
• The hotel restaurant seemed expensive for the items offered.

“Very clean and friendly hotel. Easily located near the highway, as well as the airport. I stay in a number of hotel's during the fall/winter months and often have a difficult time sleeping in the hotel beds, I found the doubletree beds to be the most comfortable, and had a great night's sleep.”

• I asked for a non-smoking room, but they gave us a smoking room.

“The doubletree is a decent airport hotel. When we arrived they had run out of non-smoking rooms. The woman at the front desk was kind enough to send someone from housekeeping upstairs to check the smoking rooms to find one that did not have a strong odor. Our room was satisfactory. In the morning we had breakfast (not included with room) in the hotel restaurant. They were severely understaffed, so the service was slow although there were few customers. Since it is an airport hotel, I suspect that most customers are looking for a quick breakfast.”

• Old and cracked fixtures/under construction.

“Marriott in my opinion is the top of three star hotels. Doubletree is an average copy of. The front desk was understaffed and over worked. The layout reminded me of a Holiday in with some fancy appointments. Being under construction did not help. The rooms were clean and the rooms seemed sound proof to me which was a great plus point. Very good wireless internet which was faster than most other hotels. About 1 megabit per second. If I had to pay the rack rate of 209 per night I would be very dissatisfied but at my rate I was satisfied but not blown away.”

• I was told at the desk that the breakfast was complementary and then after I began eating I was charged me $10 for a cold breakfast.

“Very poor customer service. They forgot my wake up call. Charged me for a breakfast, was told that it was free. I overheard a conversation from the employee at the front desk. They were refusing to refund a handicap individual who they could not accommodate. I will not stay at a Double Tree again.”

• The hotel was in a good location for our purposes near the airport.
• The hotel was badly in need of maintenance.

“The first room they gave us we could not even enter because the door lock would not function. They gave us a different room that had peeling wallpaper, a television with serious issues with the screen that caused part of the image to appear with a green tint and another to have a purple tint, and there was Kleenex tissue shoved in the access panel of the thermostatic control to keep it from making a rattling noise. I have stayed at other Doubletree Hotels in the past and this one was clearly not up to the standard that I was expecting. I would rate this hotel as a 1 star based on the overall shabby condition of the facilities, and I was quite disappointed since I was expecting 2 1/2 star accommodations or better.”

• The bed and linens were very comfortable and nice.
• Breakfast buffet was expensive and poor quality.

“Fixtures and decor were worn and dirty, especially in the bathroom. Breakfast pastries were at least a day old and dried up. Not up to my previous experiences with Doubletree properties. Arriving at 11pm, there was no food available either from the restaurant or room service. I had to walk 5 blocks to the nearest Taco Bell to find something to eat.”

“The location was perfect, but this Doubletree did not live up to others I have stayed at. The lobby was somewhat rundown, the check-in desk actually had initials carved in it, and in the first room they gave me the room lamps and toilet did not work and the carpet was badly stained. They gave me another room that was ok, but the carpets were stained there also and the bathroom was rundown.”

“Everything about stay was pleasant except that room had a heavy cigarette smoke odor to it. I'm sure staff would have switch my room if to non-smoking if I asked, but it was late night and I had small children with me who were ready for bed.”
