• Had to pay for parking, but they did allow to leave car after checkout.

• Asked for a room with king bed, but was given 2 doubles instead. also parking valet too slow.

“The food and service at this hotel are outstanding. (don't miss Sunday brunch!) The location in the middle of New Haven's fast growing arts and entertainment district makes it an ideal place for a "parents only" overnight or weekend getaway. ”

• Slept on floor because mattress was so hard and worn.

“Lobby is lovely. Room was updated but showing signs of wear. Staff was helpful, as they were willing to relocate us to a different room on the 2nd night of our 2-night stay in hopes for a better mattress. The mattress in the second room was equally unacceptable and in that room there was the added aggravation of the noisy elevator shaft against the wall of our room (the rooms *01 on each floor will have that problem).”

“I had called the Omni to make sure I would have a smoking room with 2 double beds. When I arrived I was told that my room was non-smoking. The manager was going to give me and my girlfriend a smoking room with a king size bed, however, I was not comfortable sleeping with another woman. The manager said she would allow us to smoke in the room and would send up an ashtray but we never did get the ashtray. Since I had called the motel well beforehand to check on the accommodations this should not have happened. The fact that we never did receive the ashtray that was promised to us did put a bit of a damper on an otherwise wonderful stay.”

• The staff was magnificent, very warm ...
• The lobby was in repair and we needed to carry our bags up 1 flight of stairs, no access to elevator in the lobby.

• When I walked into the room I knew that it was clean from the first look at the layout.
• I didn't really enjoy paying 17.00 a night for parking.

“I was very happy with our stay. We ordered room service and it was there within 10 minutes. The bathroom was clean along with the rest of the room.”

• Small Room, Small Bathroom, Not Luxurious at all.

“Omni is located in a convenient area. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The lobby is nicely decorated and clean. The restaurant is on the top floor and has a pretty view at night. The room was nice but not very spacious and the bathroom was tiny. Had trouble getting the parking garage ticket to work when exiting the garage.”

• I had requested a king room and was not given one. I thought for the rating it would be better updated.

“The hotel is in a good location. The staff is friendly. For the price and 5 star quality I believe it should have been better updated. Parking for this price should be included as part of the room.”

• Very nice beds and linens and good bathroom but small.
• Room was very small and you could hear the vibration of the elevators.

“I don't know if the room was smaller than the rest but it was a very small room right outside the elevators. You could hear the mechanism of the elevators in your room. For one night I could tolerate it and it decreased in frequency as it got later in the night. Except for that it was a nice hotel.”

• The beds are very comfortable!
• Some of the furniture, carpet and parts of the building are showing age and should be spruced up.

“A fine place to stay in close proximity to Yale University and the New Haven Green. A fine choice, but not as luxurious as I had expected. The lobby, with low ceilings felt kind of cramped. A good overall experience.”

• It was within walking distance of a variety of restaurants, stores, and historical Yale Univ.
• The elevators were loud. We could even hear them from our room.

• Room was spacious and comfortable with big windows offering nice views.
• Building security questionable no safeguards between garage and tower.

“We enjoyed our stay staff was friendly and attentive, rooms public and private were clean and attractive, downtown location was convenient to many restaurants and attractions. We were concerned that the security safeguards between the underground garage and the floors with guest rooms had been defeated. There was nothing to prevent non guests from entering the hotel through the garage, and nothing to prevent intruders from taking the elevator directly from the garage to the guest room floors.”

• The rooms cannot be individually climate controlled. Couldn't cool room off to sleep.

“The hotel appeared to be very nice. The Christmas decor in the lobby was beautiful. The room was very small. There was no table to eat at in the room. The down comforters were very nice. The climate control in the room would not work. It was like a sauna. I like to be on the cooler side when I sleep, and it was impossible here. I finally turned the air system off and opened the vents in the windows. It was not very comfortable.”

• Fantastic bar and food service hours. Great sheets! Easy location.
• Windows don't open - small slits at the bottom tip out, horrible.

“This hotel was beautiful and well staffed. We stayed there. Thanksgiving night to break up our traveling. Everything was still functioning, the desk staff and concierge were very friendly and assistive, and the bar had a great bartender who knew his stuff. The linens in the rooms were superb. The bathroom was beautiful and fully stocked with robes. We would stay here any time and recommend it to anyone who needs to be in New Haven.”

• The rooms were well appointed and clean.
• Front desk was rude, traffic noise and slow elevators.

“The Omni hotel is a good choice for travelers visiting Yale or attending theater in New Haven. Rooms are small but well appointed. There is some traffic noise (including sirens from nearby hospital). A huge group was checking out when we left and there were elevator problems. The restaurant and fitness room are pleasant, though not outstanding.”

• The bed was very comfortable and I thought the room was nicely decorated. The workout facility was accessible and had good cardio equipment need more.
• Service at the restaurant for breakfast was not the best. Not enough servers to handle volume.

“Clean, Nice Decor, Good workout facility. Television cable quality could be improved poor picture quality, I think because of the cable signal. Wireless internet access is a bonus. Overall, staff are very friendly and responsive. Great place to stay, especially for business.”

• It's a very nice hotel.
• They made many mistakes room not ready, cleaning staff waking us. There was also a $17 per day fee for parking.

“It added another $20 per night to the room which put it in a different price range than the one we budgeted for. The Omni staff treated us like we were paying less for the room not ready, didn't come to get it ready for another 45 minutes, cleaning staff knocking on the door at 8 a.m., etc.”

• Great bed and bathroom. Beautiful view from top floor.
• They placed my friend and me in a single bed room.

“Everything would have been great if only we'd gotten a double room. The Omni gave us a small room with one queen-sized bed. I'm single, and I often travel with my male friends. This time, I won our two-out-of-three match of Rock-Paper-Scissors (scissors beats paper, scissors beats paper). But I probably won't be as lucky next time around.”

• Very attractive room with corner location; no problem securing two bedded room.
• No complaints. Parking was expensive at $18 but is run by the city, not the hotel.

“Excellent location near Yale and the Green. Staff was very professional and helpful, not obtrusive. Nice bath and room, parking was convenient although pricey at $18.”

• A very beautiful hotel, very spacious. In the center of town.
• Would like to know about parking charges ahead of time.

• I did not like the location. I can deal with the homeless; not the garbage everywhere
