• The rooms were decorated nicely.
• The hallways seem to have some pretty severe water damage.

“The rooms were comfortable and designed nicely. Very clean. Nice and helpful staff. Hallways had a lot of water damage which made me a little uneasy, but overall a good hotel.”

• The room was beautiful, I loved the contemporary TV, lamps, etc.
  
• Upon check-out, there was only 1 person at the front desk, which wasn't enough.

• It was very convenient.
• If I had to come up with something, it would be that the TV needs HD.

“This hotel is ideal for a short overnight stay. It's extremely convenient (right off the highway), very affordable, and the quality is good enough to satisfy most needs. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the on-site parking (which is inexpensive) was a big plus. If you're in the Waterbury area, this hotel would be perfect for catching up with friends or going out to a club.”

• No bar because of being re done.

“We stayed here before, always a pleasure to stay here. We caught them redoing the hotel this time, no bar like to unwind at night. Very convenient for our traveling plans in Connecticut.”

• I like the room. It was very clean and comfortable.
• The hotel was under construction, which made it a little noisy in the morning hours. But it was not to bad.

“The hotel is excellent for travelers of leisure, or business travelers. The location was very convenient. The room was very clean, and up to my standard of a good hotel.”

“Good location for the kosher traveler because of the kosher deli in Waterbury. Hotel should advertise this fact. It would help the hotel the deli and the travelers.”

• I have no complaints. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and has a very helpful staff.

“Though Waterbury isn't the nicest of cities, the courtyard by Marriott is a diamond in the rough. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant had good food and wasn't too pricey. I will definitely book another room at the Courtyard by Marriott when we are returning to Waterbury.”

• The indoor pool and Jacuzzi were great.
• One day the Jacuzzi was broken.

• The lobby is beautiful, and the pool was very nice.
• It was a little tricky to get to. I'm glad I had my GPS.

“Very nice. Clean room and common areas. Very pleasant staff. Parking garage just across the street, but the street is more like a service road very little traffic. Parking fee was included in the room price. There's an overhang at the front door to the hotel to unload and reload luggage. There were some city noises at night, but the hotel supplies ear plugs if you need them. We didn't. We would definitely stay here again.”

• The room size was nice to let children play and still have room to walk.
• The pool was very cloudy! You not see the bottom!

• The staffs were very helpful and courteous.
• The hotel restaurant was mediocre for the breakfast buffet we had, much room for improvement.

“This hotel accommodation was adequate for our needs being that we were in town for a wedding. It was perfectly located for our needs. The rooms were clean and very neat. Staff was very courteous and friendly. The breakfast buffet had room for improvement providing the basic breakfast; staff was very diligent and helpful. Overall I would rate my experience at this hotel a 2.5 star.”

• The workout room is way too small, the TV in my room had to be worked on then changed.

• The hotel was very clean and comfortable with friendly, helpful staff.
• No in-room refrigerator. Hard to get out of the parking garage and turn the direction we wanted to go.

“We would recommend this hotel to anyone. We had small children with us. The staff was very helpful with everything. It was very clean, however we stayed 6 nights and the rooms were not always vacuumed extremely well after the first night. There is a very good restaurant, pool, and exercise room. We would have appreciated a complimentary breakfast.”

• Way too noisy. Police Sirens all night long.

“Everything was excellent except for the noise. Did not sleep well because our room was right above the street and heard police sirens and fire truck sirens all night long. It was awful.”

“This property has excellent access to the nearby Interstate. The rooms are above-average in size. The lobby is well designed and welcoming. The staff were friendly and helpful. Nearby is a large shopping center with numerous recognizable stores and restaurants. Overall, an excellent choice.”

• The location and lobby were of satisfactory condition.
• Additional charges (parking) and a funny smell in sleeping quarters.

“The staff at this hotel lacked basic customer service skills, from assuming answers to questions instead of actually researching the question to give accurate answers all the way to taking it personal when I questioned billing. Also when I checked in I was told my 'room card' would grant me entry to the parking garage but was not told I would receive daily charges for this 'service' If I new I was being charged I probably would have been o.k. with the situation but when I learned afterward I felt swindled. The service staff alone makes me want to say I will never visit this hotel again.”

“As mentioned earlier, the hotel was very poorly staffed for the "jazz fund raiser" that was held there. I don't expect Marriott hotels to be understaffed or as in this case, to have people working the event who are inexperienced. I realize this was not a normal situation and over the entire hotel was fine.”

• I enjoyed the proximity to the highway and other necessary spots.
• I did not like the fact that I could not be contacted in advance to know about hotel problem.

“I arrived at the hotel around 8pm. Apparently the power was out because of a transformer that blew and took out the grid the hotel was on. This happened early that afternoon. I was told I could not be checked in because there was not heat. I was told I could get a room at another hotel.”

• It was inexpensive and convenient.
• They didn't offer a competitive extended stay rate.

“The hotel was great. It was clean and the staff was friendly. The only problem I ran into was that they didn't offer a good extended rate stay. I ended up staying at the holiday inn express with the same amenities, same star quality. Just no swimming pool for hundreds of dollars less.”

“I doubt that I would stay in this hotel again. I would most likely stay somewhere else and drive into Waterbury should the need ever arise again. As noted previously, staff was more than friendly for the most part.”

• From exit 22 east it is not as easy to get to.

• Excellent value for price. great bed and easy for room (hearing-impaired) to get closed caption on TV.
• Did not like the garage being too far away from hotel-long distance for luggage.

“Again excellent value, staff and many amenities for the stay-over. there was no direct connection from the garage to the hotel, making it necessary to walk outside in the rain, with our luggage to access the hotel lobby.”

• The staff is great, it is nice and clean, right off major highway.

“I would recommend this hotel to anyone, I had a 2 year old with me and the staff was great. The hotel is nice and clean. The cafe food is pricey, but you can always go outside the hotel. Everything was wonderful!”

• The staff are very helpful and friendly. Good atmosphere.
• The breakfast buffet is great, but the wait staff hover and hover, whisking plates away as soon as you put your fork down. Phooey.

“The staff at the Waterbury Courtyard by Marriott are excellent and work hard to make you feel welcome. Unfortunately, the extra blanket smelled funny and there was ice cream or something dried on the corner of the box-spring cover. It would be hard for the staff to notice that, but someone ought to do a pull-apart room inspection from time to time.”
