• Very friendly and helpful staff.
• Building is old (although they tried to update).

“The staff is very friendly and helpful. Although you can tell they have tried to upgrade the property but it still feels old - I've never seen so many laundry facilities for guests in a 3 star hotel. The bathrooms are very small and outdated, the mattress was an older type and the restaurant/bar was not what you would expect in a 3 star hotel. It's not a bad place.”

• Confusing lay out due only two elevators to the 2nd floor and not being able to access parts of hotel from one or the other. Long walk to elevator.

“The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Requested to be near an elevator due to recent knee surgery and we were almost the furthest room away. No refrigerators or microwaves in rooms without requesting them and then there are not enough for all rooms. Internet didn't work two of the three day stay.”

• It was easy to access from the highway. The bed was very comfortable.
• The bathroom was not clean. The room curtains don't close; too sheer; not enough privacy.

“The interior of the hotel is in need of a face-lift. The bathroom could have been cleaner, and the window curtains are too sheer for privacy at night. The bed was very comfortable especially appreciated the down comforter.”

• I liked the affordability.
• The hotel was overrun with families and parties that kept us up until 1-2 both nights.

“The hotel was nicely appointed and spacious. After being asked to sign a quiet policy to be in effect from 9 pm on, we were in a section where large families of sports teams were congregating, running, talking and signing in the hall until after midnight. The room next to us blared music and talked until 2 am. The club across the courtyard blared music until at least 12:30. It was not the restful experience we had wanted or needed.”

“A decent hotel right next to the McArthur Airport. The hotel was staff was exceptional. Appleby is right across the highway as well as a dinner. Don't really know about the diner but Appleby has decent selection of comfort American foods.”

• The staff was very friendly.
• The hotel beds.

“The place was clean and the staff was very friendly. The room was nice but the mattress was horrible, it was like sleeping in a ditch. We ate in the Brickyard restaurant the food was just ok. Again staff was very friendly but when their computer went down so they couldn't give us a bill and so we just sat there until we finally convinced them to bill the room. The pool looked nice but we never had a chance to use it.”

• The availability of parking for my car.
• No room service.

“The hotel was okay for a one night stay. It was clean and since I stayed on a Sunday night, it was quiet, which was great. This would not be a place I would stay if I were having a romantic weekend. It really doesn't lend itself to that, but for a quick one night stay on business, it worked.”

• The waiter at breakfast was very nice.
• All the doors squeaked - beds were not comfortable - didn't have coffee in the lobby.

“The desk staff was helpful. The cleanliness was below par thought it was cheap to have to pay for a cup of coffee outside the restaurant. Breakfast buffet was below par. Sausage was hard as a rock and the eggs were cold and rubbery.”

• The price and location.
• Needs updating/door frame was loose and damaged/carpet outdated - dirty.

“It's old, needs repair + updating, no hot water the day I left, food was nasty and priced high, could hear all the sounds in corridor, cleaners never picked up a battery off the floor that was there when I checked in. Just decent enough to sleep in and close to the airport is the best I can say.”

• I thought the beds were comfortable and the room was clean and neat.
• In the cover for the bathroom light, you could see wires and the light fixture.

• Hotel was clean and comfortable.
• The entrance to the room a little strange and the hotel doesn't have an elevator. We had to drag our heavy luggage up a flight of stairs.

“There wasn't many decent restaurants near the hotel. The entrance to the room unusual, and there wasn't an elevator to reach the 2nd floor. This posed a problem since I had heavy luggage. I did appreciate the shuttle service the hotel provided to/from airport.”

• The convenience and location to train and free shuttle.

• It was a bed. Close to airport.
• TV did not work right and lights didn't work also ac and heat messed up.

“The first room we were in was right beside a stairwell with which was loud and people were smoking in it all night long. The room was poorly maintained and there was a damp moldy smell to it. The second room that we were moved to was an improvement. Although the hallways and stairwells were disgustingly dirty and had lots of insects in them. Overall not a pleasant experience at all.”

• The lobby was lovely.
• My A/C was broken, it took 4 hours to get moved to another. I sat in 90 degree heat waiting for someone to make it right. No compensation for that.

“Holiday Inn in Ronkonkoma NY gave me a room with a broken A/C. The room was 90 degrees, but I had to wait 4 hours to get another room. The room they moved me to faced the parking lot on the ground floor. Cars were right in front of my window, facing in. There were no privacy drapes, just sheer curtain. I had to dress in the bathroom and felt as if I was in a fish bowl. I asked for a manager, no manager on staff during the weekend. Left the manager a voicemail with my phone, never returned my call. I will never stay at Holiday Inn again.”

• The price for the breakfast buffet.

• I liked that there was a gift shop which most Holiday Inns do not have.
• The rooms were very old and run down.

“I did not have a good experience here. I was placed in a room that was in the most out of the way section of the property and it was a pain to lug all of my stuff down there. I ended up asking to switch rooms because it was a ground floor and the lock on the window did not work. I had to walk all the way back to the lobby lugging my stuff through 2 doors and a 5 minute walk. I asked to be placed in a room not so far out of the way and I was given one close to the lobby why didn't they do that in the first place? The new room was missing the floor lamp and the bathroom was dirty. By now I was too tired to do anything about it. In the morning, I asked the girl at the front desk to fax me something and she did, she also said it went through no problem. I later found out it did not go through.”

• Noise level was unacceptable, cleanliness was not 3-star, over all, it was youth hostel-college dorm quality.

“I would not recommend, nor stay again in, this hotel. I had to be moved twice due to noise level from next room. The restaurant food was deplorable. The room was not 3-star quality in cleanliness or accommodations. It was the worst stay on Long Island I've every experienced, and I have stayed at least once a month for the past 2 years. Out of 10, I give the hotel a 2.”

• They were very accommodating and even changed our room because my 80 year old mom could not climb stairs.
• No elevators to the second level.

“Staff was great but the hotel was very crowded with wedding guests which caused confusion in the lobby. Room was clean and comfortable and the housekeeping staff was excellent and accommodating. Don't eat in the restaurant Very expensive and not top quality for the money.”
