• It is convenient to where I needed to be.
• The facility was dirty, and the staff didn't know what they were doing.

“I am always disappointed when I end up staying in this hotel. Our room was small, and the bathroom was very dirty like nobody had cleaned it. I had used lotion on my sink that wasn't thrown away from the previous guest. The front desk person didn't know what he was doing and put us in a different room than we requested. I would imagine for business travelers it is fine because you are not spending much time in it, and it suits the purpose of what they are looking for but I hope I never have to stay in this hotel again.”

“Breakfast was a bust - cook did not show up. Breakfast is usually excellent. All we had was cereal. Desk clerk was putting foodstuffs out in between ozone calls and check outs.”

• Drinking containers - plastic. Ran out of coffee at breakfast.

“Amerisuites is now Holiday Inn Express. They replaced the real glass containers with plastic. I hate plastic containers. Place seems a bit more clean. Breakfast was great. But the coffee containers were empty. Guess the service personnel does not pay attention.”

• Recently totally renovated.

“Hotel is in the process of being totally renovated, our room/floor had already been completed. Our room was huge, clean and the bed was very comfortable. All amenities I could possibly desire. The breakfast was excellent too - eggs, sausage and typical cold items such as muffins, bagels, etc. Location of hotel in very nice area - clean and safe with a large assortment of restaurants and shops. If I ever go to this area in Connecticut again, I would love to stay at this hotel anytime! ”

• Big well furnished rooms with comfortable beds.
• The housekeeping staff is the loudest of any hotel I have ever stayed at.

“It is impossible to sleep late at this hotel. The housekeeping staff slams the doors on rooms. They have ignored the do not disturb signs and beat on your door to ask you if you are checking out by 9:00 in the morning. On 4 separate occasions they have walked into my room while I was sleeping because I failed to answer the door. They walked in another time while I was sitting on the toilet. Management at this hotel needs to find a new housekeeping supervisor and overhaul their system.”

• Noisy. Girls athletic team chattering in the halls. Construction noises.

“Under construction from Amerisuites to hi express. Sawing at 8:00 pm on Saturday night. Marist college girls making lots of noise. Hot breakfast was not so hot due to the construction going on.”

“My room was nest door to the service area where they were compiling garbage. My room was on the back side of the hotel above the dumpster. I will stay here again but ask for a different location with regards to room. There were hairs all over the blanket when I turned the spread back, also the first towel I took down after my shower had two dirt spots on it; I took down to front desk at breakfast--they apologized.”

“When I entered my room, which was handicapped accessible- the light switch by the door did not work. I had to walk all the way into the room in the dark to try to find a lamp. And then the on off switch was on a separate cord- not on the base or on the socket. The toilet had not been cleaned and was disgusting.”

“Great location. Breakfast is good. Rooms are clean and comfortable. But there is usually one item in the room that doesn't work, usually a light bulb. Once the internet connection. Once the foci cb in the pantry. Once the clicker on the TV.”

• Housekeeping staff is very loud and rude.

“Every morning of my stay the housekeeping staff was yelling in the hallways. The Jamaican housekeeper tried to enter my room 3 times one morning while the do not disturb sign was out. I told her I would be staying over and to service my room after lunch. I came back after lunch and the room was never serviced. The cleaning job they did on most days was very poor. This used to be a nice place to stay.”

“Good location right off route 8. Only 20 minutes from Yale university. Adequate breakfast buffet included in the price. Terrible exercise room--only one bike and one treadmill! They woke me up two hours earlier than I requested (5:30 a.m.! Bad directions on their website. A somewhat depressed environment.”

“I have stayed at this property many times when visiting family in the area, but it was the first time in at least a year. The hotel has only been open about 7 years, but is showing a little wear and tear around the edges. Everything was clean and in working order, and all staff encountered was helpful. I would certainly stay there again with no hesitation.”

“This hotel is ok for the price paid, which was less than half of the asking price. Rooms are somewhat run down, with poor housekeeping in baths in particular. Had to ask two days in a row for an ice bucket. Excellent breakfast bar in lobby. Hotel front desk staff somewhat indifferent to requests for helps rectifying room deficiencies.”

• Because the windows didn't open it was a bit stuffy in the room. Bathroom fan too loud.

“A perfectly nice place with a medium breakfast (would have preferred omelet station, for example, or fruit not sitting in liquid). No restaurant, but good room amenities (fridge and silverware & plates).”

• The rooms were of good size and the beds were comfortable.

“The hotel appearance is good, the rooms are of good size and the beds are comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. What I did not like was the price i.e. Value for money. The morning breakfast was very poor in quality and on my first morning there were no eggs, only hot patty sausages. It is a 2 1/2 star hotel at best, ok for a very short stay.”

• The room was spacious.
• Plumbing was bad, maid service was bad.

“We had nothing but problems with this hotel. Our maid service was horrible. The staff dragged their feet when we needed assistance. The continental breakfast was good someday and bad others depending on what staff were tending it. The hotel was doing so repainting so their blocked off all the handicapped parking so my aunt couldn't park. Our stay was frustrating especially when they were working on the roof at 7am hammering and woke us up when we are trying to relax and be on vacation.”

• Rooms a bit dingy. Not as clean as one would hope.

“My stay in this hotel was fine. Little things make a big difference. For instance, the trash cans are not lined, so they are very dirty. The rugs are dingy. The bed spreads seem old. Other things were great, like a nice breakfast and a friendly staff.”

“The staff has very bad attitude. The hotel smells very bad. I had to vacate after 1 day even though, I had a non refundable reservation for 3 days. It was that bad. I got sick from the smell. This was my worst hotel experience as far as I can remember. I would never recommend them to any one.”

• Best amenities I've seen! Bath and Body works soaps and lotions, even an in-room steamer! Complementary bottled water was fantastic.
• Front desk staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. Housekeeping, however was fantastic.

“A wonderful facility overall, the staff could use a lesson in hospitality though. The rooms and amenities are fantastic, just don't ask anyone for directions.”

• Free breakfast and high speed internet connection. Microwave, refer and iron with a steam machine for cloths was great.
• Soap and shampoo were stingy. I stayed multiple nights with limited amenities provided.

“Convenient location, clean with large rooms for business or pleasure. Free internet and breakfast were a delight. Steam machine on wall for cloths was a pleasant surprise and useful.”

• You can only get a smoking room .. which really smells!

• The buffet breakfast, swimming pool, and location to local stores for shopping.
• I think check out time should be 12 noon.

“I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I like the cleanliness and the accessories in the rooms. I would suggest that the rooms be upgraded with DVD players. It will only help add in accommodating future customers. I also think the pool should be available until midnight. This hotel has become one of my favorites. Thanks for the pleasant experience.”

“Room was neat and clean but had an awkward layout. Bed was in a chubby (too close to the wall on one side) and a couple of feet and at an angle to the television set. Sleeping area should have been larger with television directly in front of the bed.”

“I saw a review that said someone paid for parking - they must have the wrong hotel because parking is free and the location is very easy to the highway. It is also a 3 star, not 2.5 as some reviewers said. I had an excellent stay. The staff are the nicest - only comment they could offer skim milk. Otherwise - good value and huge rooms. ”

• Room floor was not cleaned well. There was lot of cut papers on the floor that gave an ugly look. Some unclean spots were found on bath room floor.
