“This hotel was god awful. I arrived at the hotel to check-in around 9pm after a long day of travel, and the concierge told me they had my reservation as a smoking room and not a non-smoking room. I had my confirmation with me stating non-smoking, but he told me that he did not care and that I could take the room or leave, still be charged for the night, and allow them to re-book the room to another weary traveler. Reluctantly, I accepted the room after confirming that there were no other availabilities at other hotels within a 50 mile area. When I went into the room, it was absolutely repugnant. Since it was a smoking room, it smelled absolutely horrible; I even called the front desk asking if they could do anything about it and was told "it's not our problem". Thirdly, which still worse me out, the air conditioner, which appeared to be a swamp cooler, had not (probably ever) been drained of the water. In fact, it was blowing moldy water into the room and on the bed, leaving me with the choice to fester in the 90 degree heat or with the smell of mold and soggy sheets, floors, and even my suitcase. The windows were not an option either, since there was no screen and it opened into the parking lot on the street. To top off the experience, I began receiving knocking on my door by the cleaning staff, despite having the do not disturb sign on my door. When I told them do not disturb me, they continued to knock on my door at half hour intervals until they saw me leave. What made me leave was another guest, who was trying to get into my room.”

• No pull up bar in bathroom, toilet too low.
• Bed too high.

“My room was supposed to be handicapped accessible, although you could get a wheelchair through doors with no problem but bed was too high could not get in without help. Bathroom was not handicap access. Toilet too low and had no pull up bar. How can this be rated handicapped accessible? Was very disappointed.”

• The room was clean and the linens were fresh.
• The room was difficult to find and the staff did not have adequate command of the English language.

“This hotel is in 3 older buildings. My room number was 132, but it was on the second floor and difficult to locate. The front desk receptionist was kind and helpful; however, she did not have a command of the English language and when she asked questions of her colleague it was in a foreign language. This is the United States folks - learn English or don't do business. That's my opinion. Beyond that the room was clean and comfortable and satisfied all of my needs.”

• Very clean and good value for money and there was a coffee maker and TV in room, and air conditioning.
• The breakfast was a junk food experience - there was plenty of it but real food would have been preferable.

“It is close to the ferries to fire island, and on a bus route. I thought it was very good value for money, quiet, very clean and friendly staff. There was a coffee maker in the room, a TV and air conditioning. The shower room was very nice - my only complaint would be that the shower water pressure was a bit low - but at least it was hot. the breakfast is best avoided though - unless you like junk food full of god knows what, that tastes horrible - but perhaps that is the best you can expect for the price.”

• Clean bathroom, good shower, flat screen TV, microwave & fridge in room, comfortable bed.
• Room could use a little more lighting.

“Very satisfactory with Econo Lodge in Ronkonkoma. Comfortable room with flat screen TV, microwave, fridge, clean bathroom with good shower, good bed; friendly staff. Would certainly recommend this motel.”

• Stayed at Smithtown (rt.347) good location.
• The help was rude didn't know anything about the area to help us waited 15 minutes for a bucket of ice.

“I wouldn't book this hotel again unless I had no where else to go you need to hire more pleasant people he was very rude if he was having a bad day he should of called out sick instead of taking it out on your customers.”
