“I stayed at the trumbull Marriott for the first time in about 10 years. The friendly check in clerk gave us a room on the concierge floor at no extra charge. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable. The pool and spa area looked really nice, even though I didn't use it. There were a few negatives with the property. Some of the hallways looked like they haven't been updated since the hotel opened about 20 years ago. The restaurant service was friendly, but rushed at times and slows at others. Also, if you are not familiar with the area, the hotel can be a little hard to find.”

- Charge for a 32oz water of 4$.
“Overall experience was very good. For this price hotel I did see some minor quality problems. Remembering this is a pretty classy hotel, there was some hair on the toilet cover. The rug was beginning to curl on edges against wall. Rusting on the bathroom vent is gross. The cabinet which holds the TV is crowded and the TV doesn't roll out far enough to easily see from the workstation area; and its not a 25inch TV. The door is chipped at the bottom on the outside. And of course the 4$ charge for the 32oz water is a little cheap. Workstation chair a little cheap. The good stuff. Absolutely awesome bed with wonderful sheets. They could use a mid size pillow instead of 3 large and 3 small. Phenomenal staff and at your service from beginning to end. Better food than I thought and I was very happy with the value. Dinner was well priced for the quality. I would give this Hotel a 91 out of a 100.They should reconsider their no-smoking policy coming into effect in September.”

- I feel the normal pricing for the room should cover some of the premium priced service 'i.e.' music.

The hot water tank blew so we were not able to take showers the next day but the manager gave us restaurant vouchers to make up for it which went above and beyond anything that they could have done.”

- The lobby and the pool was nice.
- The ice machine was broken, the toilet seat broken, no toilet paper, big visible stain on the chair.
“I called the hotel July 14 to tell them we would be coming in later than 4pm because we had wedding rehearsal & dinner afterward, hotel clerk said fine because there was no cutoff time, we get there at 11:30pm, hotel clerk said that someone had called in and canceled the reservation, I told them my wife had called in to say we will be later than 4:pm, hotel clerk said they would reinstate the reservation, after that we finally get to the room, toilet seat broken, big stain on the chair, they left the same broken glass the second night, finger prints on the other glasses leaving me to think they did not give new glasses, no toilet paper second night, no ice in vending machine, no tissues second night and I could go on. My question is , do you know if they treat certain room differently because of the rate we were billed? ”

- Was given 4 rooms, mold in rooms and 1 staff member not friendly and lied.
“I checked in on the 14th and was given a king size bed in smoking which I wanted non smoking 2 doubles. When I went back to the front desk the women said well you are not given a choice but I will look. I said fine and if it is not smoking even better he quote was, ¿Oh no! there are no non-smoking rooms available.¿ She then moved us to another room - 2 beds smoking - well the toilet did not work. The maintenance man, Mike, by the way very nice - said he told them not to use this room toilet broken. It was then about 8:30pm they wanted him to move a toilet from another room. He called and told them he could not by himself and that they need to give us a room 2 beds non smoking and requested that they give me a free movie for all the trouble. Well, miraculously they moved me to my 3rd room which was 2 beds on the non smoking floor (the one they did not have). This was Wednesday the 14th. The next morning I took a shower and left my purse next to the bed--when I picked up my purse it was wet because the shower leaks through the wall--the rug and the wall were wet. The room had rust around doors and just did not look clean. For 2 nights I kept waking up and had a hard time breathing--I did not think anything of it until I went to the window and looked up on the sill and there was literally growing black fuzzy mold ( I took pictures) I called the office either Friday or Saturday and asked if they were aware of the situation and they said no but would move me again 4th room also 3 lights did not work in this room. Finally the 4th room. Cleaner had a little mold but had a urine odor. I just kept spraying air freshener. The lobby and restaurants were clean and many business people which I felt is all they wanted. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I plan on emailing the pictures of the mold growing in the room to the Marriott headquarters.”

- Will come back to this place for business with my kids. Any times I will recommend this place to friend and family.
- The only thing I did not like about my staying is that poor water was very cold the Jacuzzi wasn't working so it .was king of cold in there.
“I will like to say thanks you all for making all this a great place to stay about the water and Jacuzzi with talk to a very nice man who try to help but he could do much about the heat in there but that was very nice of him for trying if anything you can do is just have more heat by the poor specially when is still little cool out side maybe for some one like you and me is ok but for older and younger still little cold thanks you all again.”

- I was placed in the smoking area without my request and the hotel wouldn't change it for me.

- The rooms are spacious, the beds comfy and it is easy to get to anywhere in New Haven or Fairfield Counties.
- After my third or fourth night someone called and attempted to tell me I had to move to another room.

“For a full service Marriott, this place is not so hot. To get to my room, head west a significant distance to the elevators, off the elevator, travel a good distance to the east, then a good distance north. No convenient steps to first deck. Can't get out via the steps without setting the alarm. Check in clerk had a bug up his chimney. Internet connection was not free. $9.95 per day. Want a draught beer worth $6.50 a glass.”

- Very friendly and attentive staff, good food.
- Could have been a bit tidier. Saw the same tissue in the hallway for about a day or so.

- From the minute we walked in the lobby, we felt at home, surround by pleasant helpful staff.
- We travel extensively during the year. We would return to this hotel in a New York. No negatives.
“We were in the Trumbull, CT area for a funeral. The staff was most welcoming when we arrived and when we returned to the hotel in the evening. We enjoyed breakfast in your wonderful restaurant. We found nothing we did not like about the Marriott in Trumbull, CT. We will return!”

- Parking isn't that great.

- The beds! Beautiful fresh duvet covers! Great pillows!
- The sign at the entrance is so understated you can drive right past it.
“This hotel has the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in! You feel like you are the first person who ever slept there! The pure white linens and duvet covers are fresh and the pillows are fluffy! It is as if you are sleeping in a guest room suited for royalty! If you want a comfortable and great night sleep, look no further!”

- No wi-fi, internet connection is $9.95.
