• Excellent location near airport.
• Possible security issues.

“This is a nice option for anyone flying to Burlington, as it is very close to the airport. My main concern however is security. I had a camera stolen from my hotel room. The hotel staff was concerned and did everything they could to help me, but it's still troubling to have something taken from your locked room.”

• Foul odor in room, most staff seemed disengaged.

“We were excited to stay at Laquinta, because we love our local one, where we often get a room to take our kids for a night away to go swimming during the winter. Burlington was a different story. Our initial reaction upon entering the room was that we had been assigned a smoking room by mistake, due to the very strong odor that was present. We eventually tracked the smell to some kind of oil that was on one of the comforters. Sadly, the housekeeping staff smelled the odor, but their efforts ended at opening the window and hoping the room would air out by the time we got there. Luckily we only needed one bed, and we burned a scented candle to cover the smell. The Wi-Fi didn't work, and we were told that our room was too far down the hall to get a signal from the router, but we were offered a place to work in the lobby (which we declined since we were already in our pajamas). Our room overlooked a construction dumpster, there were no tissues in the dispenser and no bags in the trash bins. Would I pay to stay at this hotel again?”

• Excellent location for Downtown activities and easy highway access.
• The room decor left a lot to be desired. Peeling wall-paper and stained walls were not attractive!

“We stayed here four nights. The room was not the most attractive, but the free wireless internet, the great location and the free continental breakfast made up for the shortfall of the room.”

• It ended up being right across the street from the venue we were attending.
• The room was dirty - sink was dirty, pubic hair in the tub, sticky floor.

“The room was dirty, mainly the bathroom. The sink didn't drain properly and so much grunge was floating in it. And of course, a pubic hair in the tub and sticky bathroom floor (gross to think what was sticky). Nice fridge and microwave! Used the fitness room. TV was fine, and I liked the sun shade on the window. We had a late check-in and the maids knocked on the door twice and woke us up. Also, the alarm clock went off early both mornings, obviously set from the person before. That was really annoying. We thought we shut it off after the first morning fiasco but didn't. Overall, it was a nice experience though. We really enjoyed it. We would stay there again.”

• Could have had an information book in room about guest services and local menus.

• Beds were too soft.

“A good, cheap option close to amenities. They are seemingly in a transition to upgrade the hotel so the shower was clean and new, but the floor looked like it was from 1970. It all felt very clean, though, and I would stay there again.”

“When I walked into this hotel I was appalled at the poor state of the lobby. They were doing construction which was fine, but the places where they weren't doing construction was dirty. I got my key and entered my room. The room was a decent size but it smelled poorly. The heater didn't work properly and I was skeptical as to the cleanliness of the bed. The walls were paper thin which is expected in a hotel. This hotel was 1 Star at best. Please be cautious in staying at this hotel.”

• Undergoing renovations-noisy in the AM.

“At the time of my stay this property was undergoing major renovations. My room appeared to be newly decorated and was very clean. The lobby, public areas, and various rooms were under construction therefore it was rather noisy in those areas in the AM hours. This property will be very nice when completed.”

• Helpful staff at front desk.
• Heating system deficient. Broken in 2 rooms I had to stay in & changed. Very noisy.

“Friendly staff. Very poorly kept up rooms. I stayed 2 nights and had to move rooms. First night the heater did not work and it was minus 26 outside. Second night heater was overactive! Extremely noisy in corridors. In second room plaster fell off the ceiling during the night, and bathroom leaked. Much needed. Upkeep needed! I will definitely not stay there again! We were not told about breakfast hours nor that it was free.”

• Our cars were cleared of snow by a wonderful staffer!
• Uncomfortable beds.

“Our stay here was disappointing. The beds were uncomfortable, the heater worked poorly, and there was construction in the lobby/breakfast area. Doors slammed throughout the night and police were in the hallway in the evening for some reason. The positives were that someone cleared the snow from our car, and the breakfast girls were very friendly and efficient. This hotel is not what I consider a 2.5 star.”

• The fitness room is too small and heated pool should be inside, so I can swim in the winter time.

• I enjoyed the friendly and accommodating staff members most. The location was excellent - right close to main eating places and the University Mall.
• The hotel was under construction but we didn't mind that all that much.

“This hotel is in a very convenient location in south Burlington. The hotel's staff is very friendly, caring and accommodating people. We felt very comfortable during our 2-day stay. Even though the hotel was "over-booked" as they mentioned, we were moved into a junior suite because they didn't have any rooms with 2 double beds. As is sometimes the case when you're getting a discount, we were treated as first class travelers. We highly recommend this hotel.”

• Under slight construction. Rooms are nothing extraordinary. Heater was either not or cold. Nothing in the middle.

“This Hotel was fine, but I would only give it a 2 star ranking. Room was clean enough, but nothing special. Wallpaper starting to peal just a bit. Small bathroom. Good location near airport, and easy to get downtown.”

“Good location, has potential to live up to expectations of La Quinta 2 stars in they paid more attention to cleanness in hallways, stairs and gave some new glasses to staff to see and remove dust under beds, on baseboards, TV, Lamps and shades etc. Cut corners? Bathroom ok. The excuses of renovations for the dusty rooms are not a good excuse.”

• I mentioned I missed my nightly chocolate and the desk clerk produced a chocolate lollypop.
• There was nothing I didn't like.

“We arrived after days of packing to move. Exhausted, we were welcomed on a frid, wet day by a warm fire in the lobby and a warmer greeting by the desk clerk. We were so tired, we couldn't eat dinner, but were given a couple of breakfast rolls and sent to bed. All the facilities were in A 1 shape. The hotel was quiet and the heater/air worked well in silence also. Parking was convenient. Lovely breakfast room with a very nice assortment of goodies, including waffles. All in all, I'd stay there again.”

• The hotel was in the middle of renovation when my family and I arrived.

“Together with my family I had to change rooms 3 times within 7 days. During the day it was impossible to stay in the room because of the noise of power tools. Rooms were VERY dusty.”

“The room was more of a 2 starts than a 2 1/2 but for the price it was very good. Lq is doing some renovation since they changed banner and from the looks of things when it's done it will be more of a 2 1/2 but for now it's not. The bath could have been cleaner. Service was very good.”
