• Very clean, nice rooms, and excellent linens.

nice, but there was a hippie concert in town and the place was filled with college students and we got very little sleep. Cops were called both nights and once during the day regarding the noise in the hallways, the smoking, etc. Was not hotel's fault. I found the windows to be thin - we heard everything going on outside all night.”

• Great location, great air conditioning.
• The bathtub was way too small-no room to turn around in it and not enough room to put you feet side by side.

• A great breakfast.
• Too few electrical outlets.

“We were given one of the least expensive of the rooms. We had expected a queen-size bed, and perhaps a microwave or small refrigerator, but had only a double bed and a coffee pot with cord too short to reach the outlet. I don't feel that there was much of a savings for us at this hotel.”

• What's not to like?

“The hotel met our needs in almost all areas. Room, view and staff courtesy/friendliness were above reproach. Lack of parking might be a disadvantage to some (not to us).”

• Poor internet service; poor furnishings, and poor breakfast.

“Of all the 2.5 star hotels I have stayed at, this was by far the least quality. Should be more like a 1.5 star. The internet service was horrible, the breakfast was mediocre and the furnishings were outdated.”

• It was easy to get in and out of, and within walking distance of a variety of restaurants.
• The room was pretty good size, but there was no comfortable chair.

• Convenient to the airport.

“Convenient location. Non smoking room was filled with smoke from other smokers down the hall. People running the halls until 2 AM and the heat went all night from 70 degrees up to 80 degrees.”

• Staff were friendly, but didn't really show any care.

“We will never stay at this hotel again. While the staff appear friendly when you are standing in front of them, they show little to no real care and followup on problems and requests. The building has horrible noise separation between rooms and floors, we had to listen to horrendous crashing and banging at all hours of the night coming from above our room. So if you stay here, expect to be woken up at all hours of the night if someone checks into a room above yours. Maybe you can stay on the top floor.”

• Check in was easy, staff friendly and helpful.
• Bathroom floor was dirty especially in corners.

“The staff and service was excellent but the room itself was of poor quality. I have stayed in this hotel in Chicago and it was a much more attractive and appointed room than this one. But to be fair I would been seeking a 3 star hotel and I guess you get what you pay for.”

• The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. We were able to get good value for our money.
• Our room only had a small window, but was fine for the price.

“I felt that this hotel was very adequate for our purposes. It was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served every morning providing a variety of choices to start our day. The hotel was conveniently located.”

• Location was very convenient.
• Bed was a tad mushy, and second floor ran quite warm.

“This La Quinta is a converted Comfort Inn and not as posh as other La Quinta locations I've stayed at. But it's obvious the owners took good care in renovating the facilities. The location - a very short drive east of Interstate 89 Exit 14 - is quite convenient to Burlington proper. Free breakfast - somewhere between continental and full American was a nice touch. Wireless Internet is much appreciated. The staff seemed fairly accommodating. Price was good for the level of hotel. We would stay at this hotel again.”

• The decor was unique inside the hotel rooms. Was nice not to see the typical floral prints.
• Elevator is very small.

“My overall experience was very good with the exception of hotel staff knocking on our hotel room door at 10am stating that they were just checking the rooms. The 2 employees did not give any more of an explanation. In all my years of staying in various hotels I have never been disturbed by anyone except room service or cleaning. I was extremely disturbed about the interruption.”

• Good location.
• They were in process of painting the hotel, so all the windows were covered with plastic and painted- no daylight at all!

“The outside of the building was in the process of being painted - had to be careful where we parked as not to get paint on the car- all windows were taped up and painted over. The hotel was centrally located and staff was helpful. Wish I had known about the work being done before going.”

• I really liked the breakfast. There was a great selection.
• Nothing.

“Great location to lake Champlain and area restaurants and shopping (church st.). Street parking is free after 6:00 PM. Free continental breakfast selection had something for everyone, including waffles. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The person at the front desk was very helpful and gave us useful tips about the area.”

“It was a clean, comfortable place to stay convenient to the freeway and to downtown Burlington. Fairly run of the mill chain hotel close to a freeway exit. The strength was the staff who were very courteous and helpful.”

• Comfortable beds, varied breakfast, fridge and microwave in the room and a large variety of TV channels.
• There was a bad humidity and/or pet smell. Was not pleasant when coming into the room.

“The hotel was easy to find and we had an oversized room that was very comfortable. Having a baby and young child with us, we enjoyed having a microwave (asked in advance) and fridge (pleasant surprise) in the room. The beds were very comfortable and the variety of breakfast items was much appreciated. There were quite a few TV channels and the hotel was very close to everything. On the negative, there was a bad smell in the room from either humidity or from a pet. Overall though, the stay was very pleasant.”

“We enjoyed our stay until the people in the next room started screaming at each other and it didn't stop until our 3rd call to the front desk at 1:30 am and they finally pounded on their door and quieted them. Otherwise it was very clean and the breakfast was good.”

“This hotel is close to Downtown Burlington and worked well for me. It is more like a two star then a two and a half star. One morning there was fruit for breakfast and otherwise the breakfast was two type of cereal and various bread products.”

• Bathtub had almost no level surface; bottles, soap kept sliding into tub.

“Very nice room; room-darkening shade a definite plus as our room faced out onto the street. Bedspread was a little unusual. Almost like chamois on one side and curtain-like material on the other. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Had all the extras: hair dryer, coffee maker, Wi-Fi, alarm clock.”

• Everything was super clean, from the parking lot to the bathtub.

“Conveniently located off the highway, LaQunta in South Burlington offers convenience to travelers arriving by air or car. The staff was efficient, friendly and helpful and the rooms were brand new and super clean looking and had no odor. The lobby was not grand but it was pleasant and inviting, the equipment in the fitness room was all new and in good working order, and though it was still too cold to swim, I checked out the pool area and it looked wonderful. The only thing I noticed that was even slightly off was that the sheets though sparkling clean of course, were getting a little worn and should be replaced soon, other than that everything else was 100% perfect. I would stay again and recommend anyone.”

• Possible security issues.

“This is a nice option for anyone flying to Burlington, as it is very close to the airport. My main concern however is security. I had a camera stolen from my hotel room. The hotel staff was concerned and did everything they could to help me, but it's still troubling to have something taken from your locked room.”

• Foul odor in room, most staff seemed disengaged.

“We were excited to stay at Laquinta, because we love our local one, where we often get a room to take our kids for a night away to go swimming during the winter. Burlington was a different story. Our initial reaction upon entering the room was that we had been assigned a smoking room by mistake, due to the very strong odor that was present. We eventually tracked the smell to some kind of oil that was on one of the comforters. Sadly, the housekeeping staff smelled the odor, but their efforts ended at opening the window and hoping the room would air out by the time we got there. Luckily we only needed one bed, and we burned a scented candle to cover the smell. The Wi-Fi didn't work, and we were told that our room was too far down the hall to get a signal from the router, but we were offered a place to work in the lobby (which we declined since we were already in our pajamas). Our room overlooked a construction dumpster, there were no tissues in the dispenser and no bags in the trash bins. Would I pay to stay at this hotel again?”

• Excellent location for Downtown activities and easy highway access.
• The room decor left a lot to be desired. Peeling wall-paper and stained walls were not attractive!

• It ended up being right across the street from the venue we were attending.
• The room was dirty - sink was dirty, pubic hair in the tub, sticky floor.

“The room was dirty, mainly the bathroom. The sink didn't drain properly and so much grunge was floating in it. And of course, a pubic hair in the tub and sticky bathroom floor (gross to think what was sticky). Nice fridge and microwave! Used the fitness room. TV was fine, and I liked the sun shade on the window. We had a late check-in and the maids knocked on the door twice and woke us up. Also, the alarm clock went off early both mornings, obviously set from the person before. That was really annoying. We thought we shut it off after the first morning fiasco but didn't. Overall, it was a nice experience though. We really enjoyed it. We would stay there again.”

• Beds were too soft.

“A good, cheap option close to amenities. They are seemingly in a transition to upgrade the hotel so the shower was clean and new, but the floor looked like it was from 1970. It all felt very clean, though, and I would stay there again.”
