• Hotel location is excellent for access to UMP - you will have to drive if you want to go into Burlington.
• Customer service was atrocious. College students use the hotel parking lot at night and there were no spaces left.

“The hotel is immediately off the highway with ample parking. The lobby and public areas are clean, attractive and well lit. The room was nice and came with a couch. Customer service treated us poorly when checking in and gave us a room very close to a highly trafficked main doorway. Our late check-out request was refused. College students use the hotel parking lot at night to access downtown Burlington and UMP. Customer who arrive back at the hotel after 10 will have to park extremely far back if there are any remaining spaces available. The hotel seemed aware of this issue but apparently doesn't view it with any level of importance. Generally having drunk college students roaming your parking lot at night would seem a bit worrisome.”

• The pool was very nice.
• The staff did not answer the phone when I called the front desk.

“The hotel was nice, but not what I would call 3 star. The toilet seat was all cracked. The bathroom was plain & older. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel map showed several areas to get soda or snacks but when you went to them there were not machines only ice. I walked to 4 locations to get a drink and could not get one. Finally at the front desk they sent me to one and guess what. It was empty. At this point it was after 11 and room service was over. They did give me a couple of small cups of soda, but they did not last long. then when I tried to call to get pillows because I was allergic to the ones in the room, nobody answered the phone. I had to get dressed and go to the front lobby and wait in line to ask for pillows, then wait for them to arrive. The morning staff at the hotel was very nice. we had a lovely breakfast at the hotel before we left. My two children even commented that they thought the hotel was supposed to be nicer and it stunk (my 10 year olds word).”

“Hotel room has no electrical facilities aside for a TV and a coffee machine which we had to move because it sat on the TV and there was no electricity socket near bye. no fridge, no micro. Even 2 star low level hotels have those!”

• I liked the fact that I got an upgrade to a club level room.

“The Sheraton Burlington in an attractive, well-decorated hotel, with a pool and two restaurants. It is convenient to major highways and only 1.5 miles from downtown Burlington, a healthful walk or you can ask them to take you in their shuttle if you don't have a car. The rooms are attractively decorated. The bathrooms have granite sinks. The staff is efficient and friendly. I had a great time at this hotel!”

“The room and hotel had been updated. Although all the furniture was new, the room still had a really old feel, with water pipes exposed in the room as well as in the hallways all along the hotel. It was clearly updated, but many old things remained. Very small room. Great for 1 night. Cramped otherwise.”

“This hotel is ideally located to visit the area of Burlington VT. It is not downtown on the water, but in a quieter location close-by downtown, the University, the highway and wonderful shopping and restaurants. The rooms were large and comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tubs and pool and our stay.”

• Beautiful lobby, indoor atrium that felt like it was outdoors, huge pool.
• After staying in other hotels with soft, fluffy beds, this bed seemed flat.

“Upon arrival, I requested 2 queens, non-smoking and a view. All requests were accommodated. The indoor atrium theme was very attractive. Didn't have time to try the pool or restaurants, but they looked very appealing. Hotel was not booked up, so heard no noise from neighboring rooms in the nighttime.”

• The large flat screen TV.
• It was difficult to adjust the AC temp. And parking was an issue as to the distance from car to entrance.

“The Burlington Sheraton is convenient off I-89 and is centrally located within the city. The rooms are comfortable with large flat screen TV. Overall a pleasant experience.”

“The hotel was excellent and staff was very friendly. The pool and gym had everything that we needed. We had an issue with unruly people in the next room and the hotel took care of it right away. Would stay at this Hotel again.”

“When I called this hotel to request a room with 2 beds, I spoke with a very snippy person who told that they wouldn't change our room. However, when we checked in there was a very friendly person who immediately give us a room with two beds. His helpful attitude made up for the rude person in reservations.”

“The bathroom in our hotel really needed updating. The shower sprayed all over the whole room and the tile and sink were quite 1990's. The plastic drinking cups are something I'd expect at a Motel 6, not a Sheraton. The hall carpets are getting shabby, too.”

“Fine newer resort/business hotel next to UVM campus. Lovely public spaces. Unfortunate layout problems can make your room hard to find. Sheraton has a lot of nerve charging $9.95 per day for in room internet in this day and age in a hotel with this high a suggested ticket price.”

• Walking distance (although a little far) to Church Street and shops.
• Air conditioning unit woke us up the first night.

“The Sheraton was a nice, clean, pleasant hotel and our stay was very nice. They allow dogs, so we brought our Chihuahua which was nice since Burlington is a very dog friendly town. We were able to walk to Church Street and the shops and restaurants without any difficulty. There is also a bus and it is a very short drive into town (only a little over a mile). Overall, the hotel was convenient and provided us with a clean, comfortable stay for our weekend.”

“The hotel was beautiful! The rooms were very comfortable. The food at the hotel restaurant was excellent but there was not a big selection and the prices were pretty steep (ex. $6 for a bagel with cream cheese). Overall, my husband and I enjoyed our stay.”

“The hotel did not meet my expectations because I was unable to sleep due to loud lobby music all night long. When I mentioned this to the front staff they responded by telling me "it must have been a party in one of the rooms" (the music was the same music we heard when we checked in but we thought it would stop during the night).”

“I always appreciate getting breakfast included in the room price. I wish Sheraton would include it. I have eaten breakfast at the Sheraton and would not do it again. It was good, but too much money.”

“I had a hard time choking down the idea of $6 bagels with jam at the hotel restaurant, or of paying $11 to see an old movie on pay TV. Sheraton caters to business travelers who charge companies for expenses.”

• Day front desk person did not address our concerns regarding problems with our stay.

“The hotel itself is neat and clean. Centrally located which suited our needs. However the night we arrived the hotel had lost power and we were not able to do anything. After 4 hours the power came on but not the cable and we were still not able to have keys to our room. When checking out we were not even offered an apology or any compensations for our inconvenience. They said we did not owe any further charges, thank you, goodbye. We were not happy with this treatment.”

• There was not any information, about hotel or area, in the room.

• No room service though it claimed to be available up to 11:00 p.m. (we called at 10:30).

“The hotel was very attractive with all new amenities. Check in/out was quick and friendly. The pool was very nice. Downside - they need to fix the other elevator. We had to walk all around the hotel to get to the main elevator. While we are not elderly or disabled, I can see how it will be a problem for those in need of closer transportation.”

• Connecting door was dirty (needed good cleaning).

“The Burlington Sheraton Hotel is in a good location -- near major highway and airport, short drive to downtown Burlington -- no noise from airport or highway. The layout of the hotel is confusing, however; we were there during a time that a key elevator was under maintenance, so we had to navigate many hallways, stairs, etc. to get to our rooms. It's a non-smoking hotel (good), but smokers congregate at the exit doors (bad). We walked through a wall of smoke to get inside in the evening (ugh!). This is a general hotel problem, not just the Sheraton, however.”

• Pool and fitness center affords no privacy. Business center is located in a poor location.

“The rooms were nice but luxurious. The staff was helpful but not very attentive. Access to the business center required traveling through the main conference area. This was awkward in the morning as a group was in session. The pool and fitness rooms are in glass enclosure so don't even think about it if you're modest or enjoy privacy.”

• The lighting in the room hurt my eyes terribly. Way too yellow.

“It is nice enough but they need to get full spectrum light bulbs. The lighting was way too yellow and it hurt. I understand what they were trying to do, make it match the decor but it hurt.”

• No in-room mini fridge. Old heating system, difficult to adjust temp.

“The location of the hotel is excellent, within easy reach of all Burlington area attractions. The beds were comfortable, but the decor and heating/cooling system was old, making temp control difficult. I was disappointed not to find a mini-fridge in the room- a must when traveling with small children. Also, we were charged for local calls, something that was not disclosed anywhere; neither in the directory nor on the phone pad. While the pool was great, there were never enough towels available, and we had to call several times before the staff brought more. The hotel was nice, but not worth the 3-star rating.”

• The staff was great.
• The room was a bit dated for a Sheraton.

“This is a fine hotel, a bit dated and a bit more of an off-the-highway hotel than a Sheraton is typically. It was clean, the room had everything you could want in it and was very large. I did not utilize the amenities, but it had an indoor pool that looked very nice. overall, a great hotel.”

• It was $60.00 and usually $60.00 is 2 star or worse these days.
• It was not quite the Sheraton I've known in other locations like HI.

“A very nice hotel, but seemed a bit "overworked" I'd expect that it's nearness to the Airport and thew University puts a lot of pressure on the facility. All in al though, a very nice place to stay.”
