• Came in on red eye and they accommodated us with a room asap. Friendly staff, excellent follow-up. Had all the extra touches.

“Excellent service. We ordered room service, and got a call to follow up on the quality of the order. The day before we checked out, they called to confirm. When I come back to the area I will definitely want to stay here.”

“I found the front desk staff very helpful - we were early but they accommodated us immediately with the room we needed. We needed two beds and they helped us out. We were there for a very short stay but would definitely stay again. Clean and comfortable and quiet.”

• the pool didn't open until 10:00 on Saturday and I would have like to swim around 8:00 o'clock before we had to leave at 11:0

• Very clean.
• The pool was not working and you were able to hear everything in the hallway all night long!

“Very clean hotel, lovely staff always saying hello and good bye, but they need to sound proof the doors in the rooms better! I was able to hear everyone slamming their doors at night and talking in the hallway. The bed, it was amazing, that's all I can say! I would stay there again if I had too!”

• Rooms located facing the bar and lobby area are noisy especially when there are people drinking and celebrating until all hours of the night.

• Quality of room was excellent.
• Location - it was out the way and nothing was nearby.

• The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful.
• There was no refrigerator in the room so we had to throw away our "to go" boxes we had brought back from eating out.

• The bed was comfortable.
• The sleep timer did not work then the phone did not work and the sleep timer could not be fixed in any room in the hotel.

“Hotel was not able to fix the TV control and I was unable to call them (phone did not work) They were located out where there were no other stores, restaurants etc. and the restaurant closed at 9 pm.”

• Friendly staff. Clean, Professional atmosphere. Good restaurant, excellent service!
• The room was a bit far from the elevators and the nearest ice machine was not working.

“I had a pleasant experience with one negative that the hotel had no control over and that was a snoring guest in the next room and he was loud. It was late and I didnt want to have to change rooms whilst in my jimmies. So, I really didnt sleep well because of that. However, the staff was well trained and I could tell that there was a hard working manager behind it. The staff should be proud of themselves as they portrayed a professional demeanor while still being friendly. I would not hesitate to stay here again and would recommend it for any future stays. Since I will be building a business here, it will be nice to have the Marriot as a resource for meetings if need be.”

• Odd Lobby with many Banquets tables and Chloride n smell from open pool area.

“Great Location. Nice rooms with a modest Gym and a pool in the Atrium area. Gives off a chlorine smell in the Lobby/ Bar/ Pool area. Nice room location on the first floor but curtains doesnt close and room adjoins meeting areas so it could be peeping Tom friendly. Very nicely furnished rooms and very comfortable beds and down comforters.”

• The appearance and ambience of the hotel was wonderful!
• At the bar in the evening on one particular night; it was freezing! The staff stated that because of the many windows it is very often cold.

“I was thrilled with the price, the accommodations and the room itself; but especially the staff. They were consistently courteous and very helpful and pleasant to deal with.”

• The staff, the design, the food at the restaurant all-was fantastic.
• Light bulb in room was flickering but it was changed.

“We sold our home upstate and needed a place to stay for a while until we closed on our new home in long island. While my husband went to work I had to stay alone with our three year old daughter at the hotel. There was not much stuff for us to do as a family, but the restaurant gave her crayons and a sheet of paper to color which is always great! That was a family friendly move -trust me my daughter makes it an issue if the restaurant does not give her crayons. The pool was also very nice. The staff was remarkable and the hotel was beautiful. We stay at only the top resorts and hotels all the time because we need to be safe with our daughter. Good hotels seem safer for us as a family. Out of all the hotels we have ever stayed in this was the best! Even the place we stood at for our honeymoon in Puerto Rico does not come close to the class and cleanliness this hotel had to offer. Please let them know how we felt. I would like to~ thank them for all they did for us.”

“This is an attractive facility in a good location, however we stayed here on a Saturday evening when there were several weddings or private parties booked, and the noise level was unacceptable. Twice we had to call the front desk about the noise of people talking and children running in the halls. Also, we ate in the restaurant which was fairly pricey, and were seated next to a large table full of teenagers with no adult present. They were loud, rude, talking on cell phones, using profanity, etc. Further, the dinner service was exceedingly slow, and the restaurant seemed to be woefully understaffed.”

• Very convenient to where we needed to be and to public transportation into NYC.
• Wobbly stair railing, soap dishes, sloppy cleanup, lack of room service pickup all detracted from the stay.

“The Marriott Melville is conveniently located near the Farmingdale long island railroad station and near the family we were visiting. The hotel has a pool, adequate room service, and helpful if not overly friendly front desk staff. The hotel was able to arrange for adjoining rooms so my husband and I could keep an eye on our children. The rooms we were assigned appeared to be accessible, with large bathrooms, half-height closet rods, and wheelchair height peepholes. The rooms needed some renovations. The noticeable problems were crumbling tile grout, and loose soap holders. There was an internet box (not wireless) but inadequate instructions to log on, so we didn't use it. Surprisingly, there was no refrigerator in the rooms. Room service was adequate, but they failed to pick up our service items after we called (still in the hallway the next morning--yuck.) The public areas of the hotel looked worn. The lobby was being cleaned after an event. The staff had thrown drapes and other service items on the floor, which did not leave a positive impression. There were stains on the carpet. The handrail for the stairs to the right of the pool was loose and wobbly: a major safety concern. We had a nice two-night stay, but this property could use some attention.”

• The staff was very friendly and my room was fabulous.
• My room was close to the lobby, so there was a lot of noise.

“I think the hotel is very nice. the staff was very friendly and helpful. My biggest gripe about the hotel was my room, is situated very close to the main lobby, and there was a large gap between the floor and the door (big door space), which made it easy for sound to travel in and out of the room. How much privacy can attain with this condition.”
