Jeanine from Needham, MA
“This hotel is a 2 star at the most! It is undergoing a huge renovation and every area is in upheaval. Restaurant, pool, gift shop, front desk, etc. It was AWFUL! Then throw in the many unruly wedding guests that were still causing a loud commotion in and out of their rooms at 3 AM. The hotel was a total terrible experience!” Jul 30, 2008 by
Sally from Springfield, VA
“Charged me $10 to park.” Jul 29, 2008 by
Diane from Somerville, MA
“Excellent value for the money. Undergoing major renovations of all public spaces so no access to pool. Once this is complete I think the hotel will be excellent.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Tom from Sterling, MA
“The property will be nice when complete. The hotel lobby, halls and garage were a disaster. The hotel was in no condition to be open yet. The new room was nice aside from the stained old leaking windows. The shower was luke warm at best and the thermostat didn't stop blowing, freezing cold air all night no matter what the adjustment.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Gwendolyn from Houston, TX
“Although the hotel was under construction, I was pleased with its accommodations. Will stay there again.” Jul 27, 2008 by
Bill from Pittsfield, MA
“At the time of my stay, the hotel was undergoing construction in the front of the house, in and out. Elevators need updating. The rooms were nicely furnished and clean. Television channels available were limited.” Jul 26, 2008 by
Marjan from Manlius, NY
“This was the worst staying in a hotel for me in a 3 star hotel! The hotel was under construction with dirt, paint smell, dust and unfunctional facilities for the price of a hotel. This was unbearable and I will contact on the next business day their customer service for their explanation, apology and compensation or reimbursement. I could not tolerate all wrong aspects of this hotel during my 4-day staying with my 4 yr old daughter.” Jul 26, 2008 by
B from Grafton, MA
“Room was dirty - found dirty towels on floor under desk, looks like they hadn't vacuumed. Staff was unfriendly, kind of like robots. Parking garage staff was almost rude. Lots of construction underway in public spaces, which is ok, but they did little to try to accommodate the guests to make it easier to deal with the construction.” Jul 25, 2008 by
Sheryl from Staten Island, NY
“For the price it was a great.” Jul 24, 2008 by
Robert from Bakersfield, CA
“Very disappointing. The hotel was under major renovation and was terrible. Dust all over. Difficult to maneuver through hotel. Terrible front desk service. Phone rang 18 times before anyone answered. Lack of towels and shampoo in guest room. Overall, terrible experience.” Jul 24, 2008 by
David from Darien, CT
“It was alright - nothing more.” Jul 23, 2008 by
David from Marietta, GA
“Should be nice when the construction is completed bed was not comfortable - old mattress.” Jul 22, 2008 by
Andrea from Brooklyn, NY
“If you do not mind the noise and inconvenience of no pool or health club and only need a clean, nice room this is the Holiday Inn for you. My guess is after the renovation this will no longer be a Holiday Inn. The renovation seems too upscale.” Jul 21, 2008 by
Lisa from West Islip, NY
“Very nice hotel for the most part, when it will be done it will be really nice. Staff is nice. Room was very clean.” Jul 21, 2008 by
Lisa from Farmingville, NY
“The hotel was under construction but the rooms were complete. It's in a city so there is a parking garage. They accommodated us as we asked for adjoining rooms.” Jul 21, 2008 by
Mike from Brookline, MA
“Holiday inn Stamford, CT is under construction so the public areas/restaurant are not open. Staff is not very accommodating and not friendly. Hotel rooms are all new and nicely updated. Beds do not feel new though. Overall, decent hotel, but I would not recommend.” Jul 21, 2008 by
Mike from Los Angeles, CA
“Upon arrival I requested and needed a hard line internet connection in my room and was told that hard line connections were no longer available, only WiFi was in each room. After much discussion, a manager who was quite nice informed me that some rooms did have hard wire internet and wrote down several rooms she thought would have it in them. I was to examine each room until I found a internet box with the security guard. I proceeded with the security guard and accepted the first room that had it. The security guard who assisted me was so rude and angry to me for having to accompany me that for the first time in a hotel I felt he might sabotage my stay. I travel frequently and have never experienced this form of intimidation. I can't account for the reason, but this has left a sting on me that I shall never forget. A couple of other important issues: Since the restaurant is not up and running in the hotel I used room service. My steak I ordered was not medium rare and cold. The vegetables cold and oh well I was just truly dismayed. And at 30.00 what a waste. The toilet does not work well in my room. I was informed by management that they are aware of the problem and replacing all the toilets on my floor. The gym is unavailable. The soft drink machine on my floor has a sign on it stating out of order. I'm sure management must care about these issues since most the staff is sincere and I know they are working very hard. My hope is that the issues will be addressed and I won't just get a voicemail saying, sorry about the problems, but we're under construction. I still have 3 more days to go.” Jul 21, 2008 by
Michelle from Jenison, MI
“Pretty good overall, under construction in main area.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Steve from Salisbury, MD
“The hotel is undergoing construction so while the rooms were nice the rest of the hotel was less then desirable.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Moon from Ridgefield Park, NJ
“Overall, the hotel is quite nice and ease access from highway even though it is in the center of city. Nice to stay.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Fred from Cos Cob, CT
“This hotel should not be currently offered. The public spaces are under construction. We got stuck in the elevator to the parking lot. Room service forgot our desserts.” Jul 16, 2008 by
Martha from Delray Beach, FL
“Under construction, therefore the lobby was closed down and they had a make shift desk.” Jul 16, 2008 by
Robert from Eden Prairie, MN
“I stay at hotels with you people every week. If there is not some type of adjustment or credit for me on the holiday inn stays, you will be hearing from my attorney! During its renovation at the Holiday Inn Stamford there are no workout facilities; no restaurant to speak of; no pool; no business center; lobby is a mess; this is 3 star? What are you going to do?.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Knut from Greenwich, CT
“The hotel has a very friendly staff and excellent location. The ongoing renovation was so extensive that potable water was unavailable in the rooms, jack hammers could be heard throughout the hotel and the lobby, as it was being renovated, was open to the elements. As a result, we moved to another hotel.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Mike from Beverly Hills, CA
“Water was shut off without notice, I was in the middle of a shower, no restaurant, construction workers were constantly on guests floors making noise. Noise level was quite high. Complaints were met with a shrug. This whole experience was a joke and I didn't like that the hotel took my drivers license number. What do they use my license number for. Why is it needed?.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Venkat from Billerica, MA
“This is the most unfriendly and rude hotel staff I have seen anywhere. The rooms were not clean and they would not change the comforter even though it was soiled after requesting for it to be changed. The answer was there are no spare ones to change. There was no water for more than half a day and there was no assistance or apology from any one at the hotel. There was no definite time frame provided for when it will be restored. It ruined the whole day for us and pretty much the vacation.” Jul 7, 2008 by
Nitin from Vernon, CT
“It is good hotel if you are already to walk to your destination i.e. train station (which is 15-20 min on foot), restaurants and office. They are unreliable free shuttle, on the top they charges $10 for parking fees.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Joel from Brooklyn, NY
“Pool wasnt available no fridge for my medication and for my babies food available dirty lobby no grounds staff wouldnt even look at me or try to help me, nothing close to any treatment I ever received at any hotel.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Diane from Weymouth, MA
“Under construction, can't get a fair rating.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Janet from Naugatuck, CT
“This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had, by far. 1. I called ahead to be sure they had a shuttle from the train, and they told me they did and I would just need to call when I arrived and they would send the shuttle. When I arrived, I called and was told it would be a 45 minute wait for the shuttle, and that I could walk, its just 5 blocks. As it turned out, it was over a mile - with my suitcase, my laptop, my briefcase, and my purse. I am not a kid, shall we say, and it took me 50 minutes to walk there. 2. Once I got to the hotel, there was no apparent entrance because of all the construction. I circled the hotel (one city block) twice to find it and couldn't. I called and the man I spoke with said he would come out and find me at the corner where I was waiting. I waited 10 minutes and he never came out. I came around the hotel again, and called again. The woman answered and said that she would come out to find me, that its tricky to find the entrance. She did and immediately said "where were you" which I found offensive after what I had been through, and now I was in a rush to get to my room, shower and change for my meeting. As she was checking me in, she asked what I was there to do, and I explained that I was there for a meeting, but may have to leave early to get to a birth, to which she said "oh, are you the grandmother or something?" which offended me even more! 3. I asked for the manager, spoke with him, and as I said, he said he could do nothing. 4. One of other women attending the meeting drove in and couldn't find the place to even enter the parking garage! She drove around 4 times and finally asked someone. 5. The hotel was under construction and filthy! My room was clean, but the hotel and elevators were nauseating. I am very unhappy.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Michael from Quincy, MA
“The hotel is under renovation, not a problem I'm in the hotel design industry. The best part were the fabrics in the guest rooms. When its done it will be wonderful.” Jun 29, 2008 by
Lillian from Chatham, NJ
“When finished, this hotel will definitely be 3-star, but at the moment, it does not deserve to be any where close to the ratings of the other hotels in the area. It is undergoing major renovation, and the public areas are like a war zone. In the room: no cover on the duvet, phone did not work, bottle of lotion was half used, no mini bar at all, coffee for 1--not for 2, no info in room about hotel amenities (because there are none at the time, I guess).” Jun 29, 2008 by
Mrs.M from Glastonbury, CT
“Check in was good - Staff was organized even though lobby was under construction. Staff was friendly and pleasant - so were the guests. Loved all those pillows on the bed. Requests were honored quickly, without fuss and with a smile. Everyone spoke English. (I am senior - traveling for business/leisure).” Jun 15, 2008 by
Bob from Eden Prairie, MN
“This hotel has the potential to be a 3 star selection when 18 million dollar renovation is complete.” Jun 5, 2008 by
R from Quincy, MA
“My stay was enjoyable and would stay again in future.” Jun 5, 2008 by
Tony from Hypoluxo, FL
“Hotel was undergoing massive renovation and filthy. Water was not always available. Charged for parking.” May 31, 2008 by
Faith from Pound Ridge, NY
“When the renovations are complete, this will be a great hotel to stay at. But for now, it is noisy and inconvenient. Not much in the way of amenities.” May 12, 2008 by
Taryn from Lynbrook, NY
“There was an odor in the hotel, white dust all around the outside of the room, the dining room was out of commission, and generally I was very upset with the selection.” May 3, 2008 by
Joe from Wilmington, NC
“May be when the consruction done it will be nice.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Tom from Auburn, ME
“Hotel was fine; accommodations were good. I did like the fact that there were minimum problems even with the facility undergoing renovation. For example the work crews worked 9:30 - 6 to minimize noise to customers and not start at 6-7 am and wake everyone up.” Apr 19, 2008 by
Cindy from Canandaigua, NY
“This will be a terrific hotel once construction is completed.” Apr 18, 2008 by
Dave from Nashua, NH
“They are doing renovation but the place is ugly and should have been redone years ago.” Apr 16, 2008 by
Sabine from Limerick, PA
“Loved the rooms! I think once construction is finished, this hotel deserves more than 3 stars. The room was one of the nicest I ever stayed in. Nicer than the Marriott marquis in NY, and best of all, very affordable! A true bargain.” Apr 15, 2008 by
Tiffany from Kenvil, NJ
“I was very disappointed in the hotel. You had to pay $10.60 a day for parking at a hotel that was under construction. The bar/restaurant was located in the middle of a hallway. There were a few tables set up but definitely not what I expected. My room was nice but housekeeping did not clean my room during my stay.” Apr 11, 2008 by
Maria from Laurel, MD
“All the staff was friendly, no restaurants in the hotel due to renovation so hard to judge what food would have been like. The renovations are really quite swell not what I expected from a Holiday Inn. Would go back if I work in that area again.” Apr 8, 2008 by
Rosemary from Meriden, CT
“The hotel was very comfortable except for the noise from the remodeling.” Apr 8, 2008 by
K. from Yonkers, NY
“Hotel room was clean but the construction going on there was very annoying.” Apr 4, 2008 by
Charles from Framingham, MA
“Hotel is under major renovations. Restaurant/bar/lounge areas were pathetically set up in temporary settings.” Mar 27, 2008 by
Kathy from Wallingford, CT
“The front desk checked me into a room that was already occupied, offered no apologies and could not provide a receipt upon early checkout.” Mar 26, 2008 by
Susan from Sperryville, VA
“Our last stay was miserable there and we hoped to get a different hotel. Our room had been used prior to us but we neglected to notice until we crawled into bed, which was dirty. The stay was much better this week but they still need some basic work to make it enjoyable.” Hotel Representatives:
