• Fabulous linens and bed. Very upscale bath and shower.
• Charge for parking and confusing entrance and exit. I hate the Marriott hold on debit cards for days.

“If you can get this at a greatly reduced price on the weekend, like I did, jump. It is a recently renovated Marriott with wonderful rooms, and a spa downstairs.”

• The staff was friendly and helpful.
• It was a business oriented hotel that lacked warmth or personality.

“This is a hotel that is clearly designed for conferences, weddings and proms (without very much charm). I was impressed with the array of input jacks for the flat panel TV, to connect video devices and computers to the TV in the room. I ordered room service and was quoted 40 minutes, but the order came in 15 (perhaps the hotel was empty).”

• Great service, great bedding, and lovely strawberry water in the lobby at reception.
• Quality of furnishings & decor just okay.

“This is a very pleasant business traveler's hotel in the middle of Stamford's business district. The lobby and rooms are all pleasant, though the rooms are a bit drab. The staff of the hotel was extremely friendly and courteous, and the small convenience store off the lobby was a nice amenity. The small pool is fine, in warmer weather one can swim from indoors to outdoors, our visit in October meant indoor swimming only.”

• Great friendly staff, very clean and comfortable room, I could seriously live here!
• Not one word negative about this hotel. Except the fitness room, equipment is older and not in the best shape, and its extremely humid in the room.

• Comfortable bed.

“As soon as you access the building from the car park, music greets you, this is very warm and welcoming. The bed in the hotel room was large and super comfortable, there wasn't a bath in the bathroom but the shower facility was spacious. In a nutshell, a comfortable stay.”

“Called after making the reservation and requested two queen beds in room. It was confirmed. Then when we got there we were told that they only had a room with one king size bed. With 2 adults and 2 kids, this was not acceptable. They eventually moved a single bed into the room, but only after my complaint.”

• Pool and shower were wonderful.
• Unfriendly check in and confused check out.

“I got in very late at night. The clerk and check in was not friendly. Did not smile once. I asked about getting food and she reluctantly said she could get the kitchen to make me a sandwich even though it was after hours. The pool staff was friendly, but the Jacuzzi was broken. Room was clean with good view. Public areas were a little run down such as elevators and halls with worn carpets. Spa like shampoo and lotion in bathroom and the shower was wonderful with 2 rain shower heads.”

“This was our 5th or 6th time at this hotel and it never failed. Nice indoor/outdoor pool and decent exercise facility. The staff was very helpful, courteous and the location was wonderful. I recommend highly!”

“Decent hotel for adults, but ground level windows open fully on upper floors. Pool is awful, don't be seduced by the pictures. Nickel and dime you with parking and wi-fi fee.”

• It was inexpensive
• Location was scary, gross linens, poor air quality, no bathtub, parking expensive, elevators slow.

“Upon checking in at the hotel around 11:30PM after a long day of driving, I was greeted by about a million rowdy Haitians that were having a banquet at the Stamford Marriott. I had to push my way though a load of people because they didn't respond to "excuse me" and there were no Marriott employees to be found trying to give order to this mess. I did eventually find my way to the check in desk, and the attendant was very nice. After checking in it took me 20 minutes to get up to my room, as people were overloading the elevators which was preventing them from working.Of course I had accidentally left my toiletries bag in my car and had to go back down the elevator and to my room again while trying to utilize the jammed-up elevators.The people in adjoining rooms were noisy well into the night, and the paper-thin walls did nothing to disguise that.The room smelled musty and stuffy, even with the air conditioner on and I was forced to open the window even though it faced the noisy highway. The bathroom did not look clean at all.The linens looked recycled: there were hairs on the sheets and pillows that were clearly not mine.I would never stay at the Stamford Marriott again.”

• The room was beautiful.
• The room hadn't been cleaned properly at first.

“The room wasn't cleaned properly when we first checked in (trash in the garbage, glasses and towels used). Housekeeping was sent up and fixed it right away, but it did cut into our relaxing stay a little bit. I did love the design and comfort of the room, though. I would definitely stay here again.”

• It was a wonderful option, right off the highway on our way to NYC.
• There was a large group of teens having a function, and for that reason, we didn't even try the pool. Charge for parking.

“This is a wonderful option, right off the highway on the way to NYC for the North. It's about an hour away (by car, or train - there's a station right across the street). The room was huge and beautiful, with a large LCD TV with hookups (we watched a movie off our laptop). The view wasn't thrilling (highway), and there was a function involving teens that deterred us from using the pool. Also, it's a 12 dollar charge for parking, but that's much, much better than the city.”

• Its closeness to Stamford train station.
• Handicapped rooms have the worst designed showers that leak a lot of water outside the shower area leaving a musty stench in the room.

“We were allocated a room without a bathtub even though we had requested for a room with a bathtub. The shower area is designed to splash water all over the bathroom, soaking the foot mat and bath towels in the process. A musty smell always hung around the room reminding one of unclean carpets and flooding. There was no coffee available and we waited for good 30 minutes before it was made available to us.”

“The Stamford Marriott and Spa is perfect for weekend respite. I am a caregiver and it's a short drive - no hassles of flying or long commute. It's an excellent place to get a break and relax- especially at the spa!”

• Pool area was a little shabby, hot tub broken. Pool filled with loud splashing teens with no supervision.

• Excellent views, great room.
• The shuttle staff is very lazy.

“Don't ask the shuttle bus staff to give you a ride anywhere, they'll point you in the direction and tell you to walk. Other than that, the hotel itself is excellent. Great stay, great prices!”

• Great location adjacent to Mall and restaurants.
• Parking should not be 10 bucks.

“This is our 3rd or 4th time staying here and as always, things go very well. Hotel has a great location in Stamford as the Mall is across the street as well as excellent local and chain restaurants. Located right to I-95. Rooms are renovated nicely and have flat-screen TV's, comfortable beds and nice amenities. You can't go wrong with staying here.”

• The hotel was close enough to the highway that you could hear trucks all night long.

• Well maintained hotel with attractive public areas and rooms.

“Hotel is conveniently located right off the highway. Restaurant served good food and great breakfast buffet with chef made omelets to order although somewhat on the expensive side. Individual meals were also available.”

• The Hilton is an improvement to the previous owner the Weston Hotels. The Hilton's customer service is an improvement.
• The restaurant needs to improve. The prices are high and the quality was disappointing. They need to improve on their cleanliness.

“The Hilton staff seemed very concerned about customer satisfaction. The front desk was friendly and very helpful. Our room was delightful. I was surprised to see so many dogs staying in the hotel. The Hilton needs to look at their restaurant. The food's quality was very disappointing. The floors needed to be cleaned. There was an abundance of breakfast staff reading papers, talking and not assisting their breakfast guests. I would not recommend eating in the Hilton's restaurant, until improvements have been made.”

• Incredibly convenient to my work assignment.
• The facilities are older and worn in some areas - certain of the elevators, the parking garage, the missing room number, the broken safety catch.

• It was clean, well staffed and friendly.
• We called to inform our arrival would be not until after midnight and the hotel didn't note it so our room was cancelled. With effort it was fixed.

“It is a beautiful hotel next to a major highway and across from a large mall. So, there is nothing attractive about the setting but once you are inside it is very pretty and super clean. The room was redone recently and very tastefully done.”

• Comfy bed, luxurious shower, location, indoor/outdoor pool.
• Easily opened windows, parking fees, no free wireless internet, no bathtub, small bathroom.

“Easy to locate off 95, parking and check-in were easy. Good location, felt safe. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Internet should be free. Parking prices are high, especially if you are only there for one night. Recently renovated room was nicely decorated and comfy, shower was luxurious, but no tub and very small bathroom. Not good for small children as windows were near floor and could easily be opened wide. Excellent air conditioning, digital thermostat made it easy to be comfortable. Pool looked clean and nice, but very slippery on bottom.”

• Had to pay for parking.

“Very nice rooms, comfy beds, big flat-screen TV. Clean indoor/outdoor pool area. Lots of seating to watch the kids. All of the staff that we encountered was helpful and accommodating to any question we might have. A very pleasant stay all the way around.”
