“I always stay here for Thanksgiving when I am visiting. I think it would be a beautiful setting for a wedding. Beautiful mansion and grounds.” Aug 27, 2009 by
Robin from Los Angeles,CA
“Great.” Jul 18, 2009 by
Rachel from Washington,DC
“This is a former Gold Coast mansion that has been turned into a first rate hotel and conference facility. It is a gorgeous setting and the staff is friendly and helpful.” Jun 25, 2009 by
Linda from Sunny Isles Beach,FL
“Beautiful grounds; stuffy front desk; every day of our 6 day stay the complimentary coffee bar (located in outside of the main dining room and across a hall from the front desk) operated poorly coffee was cold, 6 separate pitchers for milk, half & half, skim were consistently empty regardless of whether we came mid-morning or late morning. Also, one night we ordered room service for ourselves and 2 visiting grandchildren ages 4 and 6. The white cheese pizza was the worst we've ever tasted, and the Caesar salad was swimming in dressing.” Apr 26, 2009 by
Curtis from Chanhassen,MN
“Good service but the rooms are far away from the front desk and it is so quite it felt uncomfortable.” Apr 20, 2009 by
Margie from Brooklyn,NY
“Beautiful surroundings, cordial staff, great country location.” Apr 12, 2009 by
Sue from Richmond,VA
“Very large hotel with nice rooms, pool, racket ball courts, ping pong, sauna, pool table. Because there was no conference going on the hotel had very few guests which was ok but it was a long walk to our room.” Apr 4, 2009 by
Gretchen from Frederick,MD
“Beautiful decor. Older facility that has been updated. Lovely room and bathroom. Good quality linens and supportive mattress. I slept very well.” Jun 4, 2008 by
Owen from Thornhill, ON CA
“Great hotel with all the luxury facilities (whirlpool, pool, pool table, tennis courts, etc.). Friendly, courteous, competent staff. Our location was isolated (almost off-campus) and was not in the maintained current state that I believe the main campus rooms and buildings were.” Jun 4, 2008 by
dave B from Shirley,NY
“Very nice character and open/lush green exteriors. Had our company conference for around 25 and stayed in the property for 2 nights. Conference facilities were Good and the staff very competent.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Robert from North Las Vegas, NV
“Beautiful grounds, well appointed rooms, courteous staff, door man, we felt at home.” Feb 14, 2008 by
Donald from Hazelwood, MO
“We were placed in the back 40 acres, had to carry our luggage a long distance from parking, up and down 2 flights of stairs to get to the room. The toilet never stopped running; TV was not working properly, although we reported the matter several times. It was just frustrating.” Jan 10, 2008 by
Michelle from Newport Beach, CA
“Very much enjoyed my stay. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was quite and comfy, big bathroom was nice. The hotel grounds were very nice, pools and fitness area was clean and looked clean and staffed with an attendant. Ample parking, lots of public and open space. Would stay again if I need to be in this area.” Jan 3, 2008 by
Steven from Los Angeles, CA
“Great out of the way Hotel. You definitely feel that you got you money's worth or more. Why stay at a carbon-copy hotel when you can have a unique experience. Five-Dollar cab ride to the Train Station so you can tour New York City made things easy.” Dec 12, 2007 by
Joe from Fairburn, GA
“Parking stinks! There was allotting of children screaming and running in the halls. I did like the staff, they were all very professional. Although, they should have taken control of all the CAOS. For those of us not traveling with children it made the stay almost impossible. There were four other guests that did say to us they could not wait to leave!” Nov 26, 2007 by
Kristin from Morrisville, NY
“I was slightly disappointed in the room after seeing the front of this magnificent mansion. The room looked fine, but the tub had no drain plug and there was some kind of grease in the base tub.” Nov 26, 2007 by
A from Atlanta, GA
“The Mansion itself if incredible, as are the grounds. The newer sections are very outdated and getting a bit shabby. Rooms are very big. Bedding needs updating. Many of the quaint features are quickly disappearing (fresh cookies in lobby, popcorn machine in bar). Owners trying to turn the old time charm of the attic put into a dark, lounge type space. Mistake, because these things are what made the place so special. Beautiful grounds and lots for kids to do there, but far from major roadways, NYC, etc.” Nov 24, 2007 by
Genette from Lanexa, VA
“I was really unhappy with the rating of the hotel once we stayed. But it was paid for. It had an indoor pool that could not be used the first 2 nights and then it was cold when we could. It had an indoor bowling alley that was not in use. But it would only be for "business clients" had it been working. The book in the room did not have the same information. The pool table located near the courts was freezing. The heat was not working in that area. We loved the location and it was a beautiful design. It was an ocean view, indoor pool that was working and warm, covered parking, awesome game room with pool tables, and there was a stove, microwave and full size refrigerator in the room. It was larger than what we were in at Glen Cove. I would recommend that hotel before Glen Cove. I will make reservations someplace else next time!” Nov 4, 2007 by
Alan from Des Plaines, IL
“Great mix for business or leisure travelers.” Nov 1, 2007 by

“Great place for an event. Hotel located in back is comfortable but should offer continental breakfast. Need to ask if before hand if big events are planned otherwise place is quieter and quainter.” Oct 11, 2007 by
Elaine from Long Beach, NY
“Elegant setting and grounds, feels luxurious.” Sep 10, 2007 by
Perseka from Honolulu, HI
“This is a very nice hotel and it feels like you are in an old mansion.” Aug 21, 2007 by

“Not answered the lobby phone to see where else I could go to get ice. Finally walked to lobby was told I need to come there for ice. I was so disappointed in this experience.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 16, 2007 by

“A nostalgic and interesting hotel. The grounds are beautiful and inviting and the staff is helpful and friendly. It is quiet enough for a romantic getaway, yet has the facilities to handle decent sized meetings with comfortable chairs! Safe for kids/families as it is set back well off of the road. I will stay there again!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 26, 2007 by
Ab from Vienna, VA
“This hotel/conference center is located in a pretty remote location on Oyster Bay, NY. The grounds are very beautiful and well maintained. The rooms were clean and the staff was ok. However, the mattress was horribly uncomfortable. We both did not sleep well and had back pain every night!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 22, 2007 by

“Staying at The Glen Cove Mansion is like stepping back in time, being invited to stay at a rich friends country estate. The grounds are immaculate, and the service very accommodating.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 19, 2007 by
Tammy from Lynchburg, VA
“We were thrilled with our stay at glen cove. The room was surprisingly large, the king sized bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was very clean and very nice. The grounds are lovely and we hope to come back in the future!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 14, 2007 by

“Our second stay. Was again very pleased with the overall quality.” May 16, 2007 by
Debbie from Palo Alto, CA
“Beautiful stay. We came for a wedding and also a nice getaway with my husband. We recommend renting the bikes and riding to the shore - only about 10 minutes and really nice. Easy to take the train (long island railroad from glen cove station) to Manhattan but takes about an hour.” May 3, 2007 by
Jim from North Grafton, MA

“Charming appearance with decent prices, this hotel/conference center ultimately disappoints because its extensive amenities (spa, pool, racquetball courts) are for the most part, off-limits because of staffing shortages. After admitting that the indoor pool would be closed the entire day (on a Sunday!) Because no one would be around to work that day, the hotel had the audacity and dishonesty to put up a sign stating that the pool was closed because of "high chlorine levels" when in fact, this wasn't true. Couples looking for a weekend getaway should look elsewhere, because there is nothing more disappointing than a hotel boasting amenities that cannot be utilized.” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.May 2, 2007 by

“My family of 7 was in 3 rooms. We really enjoyed the pub and the pool. Unique bowling alley. Location could not be better.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 1, 2007 by

“Unique mansion on 55 acres of land 30 minutes from NYC, amazing! I have never stayed at such a different place. Free pool, racquetball, darts etc. No nickel and dimming. Mansion from 1910. Complete with carriage house and bowling alley with original return! Just fantastic.” Apr 29, 2007 by
Jan from Rhinelander, WI
“What a beautiful place to stay, the grounds were wonderful, the quietness was great, the staff was good - they did follow us around a bit too much, probably for security sake. I would have liked to have been able to see more of the building.” Apr 5, 2007 by
Brian from Manlius, NY
“The facility exceeded my expectations. The rooms are full sized, with all expected conveniences. The staff was friendly and helpful. Very nice setting.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 1, 2007 by

“It is a beautiful hotel with wonderful accommodations. My only problem was the young children running around unattended.” Mar 28, 2007 by
Pam from Duxbury, MA
“Hotel looks beautiful in the pictures, but the actual rooms are in additions that have been added off of the back of the building. Room was pretty, but very damp. Heat did not work. Less than impressed. I don't think that I would stay there again. I would also not use that area again, just in case.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 27, 2007 by
Caren from Glenwood Landing, NY
“We were short on funds for a vacation during winter recess. So we decided on a short stay locally, to make us feel like we went away. This hotel is a big beautiful, and I hear haunted, old mansion. We got up at 2am and quietly went ghost hunting. It was very spooky. The staff told us of ghost sightings and explained there were several hidden passages throughout the mansion. The lobbies scattered about the hotel were comfy, some with TVs for viewing. Seemed there was a coffee area set up around every corner. The hotel is very versatile, grand enough for a wedding, professional enough for conferences, romantic and family friendly as well, with nice indoor and outdoor pools. You can rent bikes and ride around the grounds. Archibald, ping pong, steam rooms, saunas. It is near a beautiful beach on the sound. Charming stone patios and gardens scattered about the grounds. There is so much to do right on the premises you really needn't leave for anything. The pub in the attic of the mansion was charming, juke box, small dance floor, pool tables, and shuffle board. The catering hall was grand; we had breakfast at a huge buffet there. So many extras compared to the big chain hotels and the price was competitive. We can really only afford one vacation a year, but we can certainly afford a few days at the glen cove mansion every school break and plan to make short stays there a family tradition.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Feb 25, 2007 by

“Great place, friendly staff, a mansion for sure, nest place, even a bowling alley, cant wait to go back.” Feb 19, 2007 by
Robert B. from Absecon, NJ
“Hard to blend the utility of a business center with historic building. Very clean. Would like perhaps a more personal history of the house and "gold coast" area available. There was a page in the welcome binder in the room. Perhaps some related literature in their lovely library?” Feb 10, 2007 by
Carrie from Somerville, MA
“We had to change rooms twice, first due to mold issues, then due to the room not being made. It's a far distance from the parking to the room, especially if you're dragging a lot of bags. Otherwise, it's quite and certainly has some charm.” Feb 7, 2007 by
Carrie from Somerville, MA
“Okay hotel. Parking is far from the rooms and there are no elevators. The mold issue is significant, but once we got into an okay room, it was nice and comfortable.” Jan 17, 2007 by
Shaheen A. from Brooklyn, NY
“The hotel was very nice overall. However, I experienced two disappointments-the bedspread was not clean, and about two minutes after the pool/hot tub opened, they had to close it down. Other than that, the decor was nice and the staff was friendly.” Dec 26, 2006 by
Janet from Campbell, NY
“The hotel is lavish. It blends old with new.” Dec 21, 2006 by
John from Chesapeake, VA
“We reserve hotels several times per year and, by far, this was the nicest of all. The hotel is literally a mansion. The main building is absolutely stunning, with guest rooms in additions that are not visible from the front, so the impression is that you are staying in a mansion. Pools - indoor and out, indoor racquetball courts, complete gym, pool tables in the pub and a bowling alley (2 lanes) in the basement. Plenty to do and see. Just a short walk to the water with everything set on beautiful (even in December) rolling grounds. Almost too many things to choose from. The staff was wonderful and did their best to make us feel at home. I highly recommend the Glen Cove Mansion and Conference Center for families or groups and would love an excuse to hold a meeting there.” Nov 19, 2006 by
Steve from Mcdonough, NY
“Great. I would recommend this hotel to families and business men working in the area.” Nov 1, 2006 by
Philip from New York, NY
“Hotel clearly met expectations. Room was clean & roomy. Bathroom clean & roomy. Hotel is getting old, but is well maintained. Free parking, but not close to rooms.” Oct 25, 2006 by
Joanne from Virginia Beach, VA
“I was very satisfied with my stay at the Glen Cove Mansion. They did not have a gift shop but they told us they are in the process of renovation. Overall we had an excellent experience there.”
