• Jukebox in bar was much too loud!

“The hotel's renovations have made this a very pleasant and upscale place to stay. The staff were friendly, the person at the desk, was very helpful. One bad point: we asked the staff to turn down the volume of the jukebox in the bar. They did not honor our request.”

“Have stayed here several times. Each time the rooms have been nicer and more comfortable. The covered walkway from rooms to restaurant office offers a pleasant view and comfort, but may be a little long for people with disabilities.”

• I felt very safe in this hotel. There was plenty of security personnel around.
• I did not like the scrambled eggs.

“This was a great hotel with wonderful amenities. I parked in a lower lot and came up with my luggage. Security saw that I was not able to find my way to the lobby and came to assist me. This was a great place. There was an excellent fitness center and I loved the indoor pool.”

• I thought the hotel was a comfortable stay and I enjoyed the complimentary champagne.
• I had to walk down a long hallway just to get to the elevator and the elevators were old.

“This hotel is aesthetically very appealing but the car navigational system couldn't even find it! Called the hotel and you have to look it up under a different city name. Even that didn't help much (and I have a great sense of direction). More directional signage would be helpful.”

“It was an excellent visit with a clean and large exercise facility and pool. The lounge has great televisions, though is noisy. Room access is far from the main areas, though I did enjoy it overall and will go back.”

• The parking lot was quite a walk from the hotel.

• Finding it.

“This is a great hotel, with great staff, room, and fitness facilities. (Fitness Room is Great). Natural setting, and trails, great! Only difficulty, which is a bummer, is finding it in the maze of roads. Its a shame it's difficult, because once you get up that hill, it is superb.”

• Clean and comfortable rooms. Fantastic restaurant.
• Location far from downtown need to drive or take taxi, could not walk.

“Tucked away location makes for a nice "getaway" feeling, but makes access to downtown much less convenient than other hotel locations. However, distance from downtown was not unreasonable, just relatively less accessible compared to other locations. Rooms are fantastic: clean, comfortable, and restful. The restaurant (80west) was superb for dinner, but the breakfast menu and buffet not quite as impressive but adequate. The only free internet access was in the lobby, a stand up console by the telephones. No free internet access from rooms was a nuisance. My priority was price, and I did not have my own car. I would have preferred something closer to downtown, but was willing to stay here for a cheaper price.”

• The location is very convenient to my workplace in White Plains.
• There is a long walk from the lobby to the rooms.

“The Westchester Renaissance Hotel is seconds from the highway and yet it is nestled quietly in the woods. The rooms are clean and well appointed. A fitness center, indoor pool, tennis and volleyball courts round out the experience.”

• Great location 25 m in to NYC and beautiful grounds. service & food. A+.
• None. Wish we had more time to enjoy the hotel.

“The hotel is in a great location, close to White Plains Westchester Mall but quiet and private. Great grounds with trails and brand new tennis courts (probably because they are located next to USTA). The kids loved the sandpit volleyball, horseshoes, and bocce and of course the heated pool. The bar has lots of charm and great lounge seats along with a great staff and good food. They have brand new restaurant with their own Sushi chef on Friday evenings which we enjoyed along with the views of the woods. The staff is friendly and you can tell they like what they do. No request was too small or large. Weekend pricing is fantastic and for what you pay at other name brand chain hotels, the Renaissance Westchester tops them all.”

• Full-service pool with attendant and complimentary coffee.
• The bizarre parking around the back and the 2 separate buildings connected by a bridge.

“Although considered to be located in the city of White Plains, this hotel is set back in a beautifully wooded area with amenities similar to a resort. It is convenient to the highway, but internally, you must walk quite a ways to get around in the hotel. Therefore, elderly or people with walking difficulty should request a room that requires less walking. The restaurant was very expensive, even for pub dining, but the food was good. The first floor had a slight musty smell in the corridor on the way to our room, but the room was fine.”

• Overpriced everything particularly the dining room.

“While nestled in a secluded area, it was overly hard to find even with a GPS system. Dining room was overpriced with tiny portions. Rooms were average sized with very acceptable amenities. Staff was slightly uppity, as area commands upscale pricing and attitudes. Not worth what we paid, but close!”

“When we first entered our room we found a used dirty fork on one of the chairs, this was not our favorite place, pool was cold and room and pool towels felt like they had been washed in starch.”

• The hotel staff members were very accommodating. Every employee I came across greeted me with a smile.
• I thought that parking here was a bit of a hassle.

“Overall, my stay at the renaissance Westchester in white plains was very pleasant. The staff is very accommodating and went out of their way to make my stay pleasurable. Parking is a bit confusing, but they have ample spots.”

“This is a reasonable place to stay overnight, however I usually find something that annoys me when I am there, like a/c or the coffee maker. They just don't seem to pay attention to details there.”

• A very long walk from entrance to actual room.

• The room was comfortable and clean.
• Access to the hotel was difficult, as was access to the room.

“For cleanliness and comfort the room was great. For convenience to White Plains by car the hotel was great. It was however difficult to get to, and the rooms were inconveniently located in comparison to the lobby. In addition, there were no restaurants or services located within walking distance of the hotel.”

• Rooms quite, didn't hear much noise through walls or door.
• Long hallway from door to bed, making bedroom area small.

“The stay was the night of blizzard '06. While check out is at 1pm, a late hour by most standards, they would not allow to extend it past 2 pm. It was still snowing and roadways where not cleared, however, they wanted you to leave. I'm sure there was not a bus load of people waiting to check in. The hotel restaurant was fully staffed, good thinking on the hotels part to keep employees overnight.”

• Free wifi only in lobby area (separate from room area).

“Its a business hotels. The rooms are large and clean. Comfortable bed, great shower. There are a couple of restaurants, which we didn't try. The lobby is separate from the guest area, which wouldn't be an issue but the free wifi only worked in the lobby area. No continental breakfast. Its in a business park so there isn't anything interesting in walking distance, but white plains is only 5 minutes away.”

• I didn't stay there long enough to find something I didn't like.

“I was only at the hotel for a matter of one short day and night, but I would definitely go back! The room, although small, was cute and quaint. The bed was filled with inviting pillows, and the mattress was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on! Although the location left a little to be desired, I would love to stay in this hotel again.”

• This hotel is outstanding with luxurious bedding, excellent rest and lounge and well trained staff.
• Not a thing.

“I was thoroughly pleased with the Renaissance Westchester and would return again. Our room was quiet with luxurious silk appointed bedding. The mint and thyme shampoo was a nice touch. Restaurant and lounge are well appointed, serving fine fare and the staff is well trained taking obvious pride in their jobs from housekeeping on up. Excellent overall and you couldn't beat the price.”

• Outstanding all around.
• Water took 10 minutes to heat up for early AM (4:30) shower.

“The room was large and comfortable. The bed was outstanding, plush, nice sheets, down comforter. The bathroom was spacious, and the shower water pressure was excellent. (Only complaint both days, it took more than 10 minutes for the water to heat up very early in the am. At noon, there was no problem at all.) The public spaces are beautiful and elegant. The Sunday brunch buffet looked outstanding, although it's pricy at $32.The location is very convenient to the Hutchinson River Parkway, I-287, I-684, and only a few miles off I-95. It is 20-45 minutes to midtown Manhattan by car, depending on traffic. All in all, an outstanding hotel and one that I would recommend without hesitation. ”
