• The extras, little bag with lavender spray and liquor next to the bed at night.
• Biohazard tape on door across the hall! A little disturbing.

“This hotel is right smack in the middle of a sprawling Financial District and shopping mall. Not exactly scenic but it suited us for one night and the outback Steakhouse across the street is very good. We enjoyed our stay.”

• Shuttle service to train station every 30 mins with easy access to New York City.
• Swimming pool was not very large and there was no hot tub. Parking was also $10 per day.

“It was a fairly large hotel with standard rooms which were clean and comfortable. It had a restaurant and small swimming pool. It was busy at the weekend with a couple of wedding receptions taking place.”

• Excellent quality.
• I did not appreciate having to pay for parking as a guest. Should be included in price!

“The hotel had many perks and was in a great location to get us to our eventual destination, though was slightly difficult to locate for our late night arrival. We had a nice room though the full bed was small for my tall husband and me. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely recommend to anyone traveling through the area as it was a short train ride to Grand Central Station in NYC. Loved it!”

• Everyone was helpful and kind. The cleaning staff actually put two regular coffee packets in my room after noticing I used one the prior day.
• The parking garage was a little spooky, most are and nothing was missing.

“It was very difficult to get a reasonable temperature in the room. An alarm clock in a nearby room was going off for hours. The room service left a lot to be desired (not worth the $) and the front desk staff could stand to be a little more friendly and welcoming.”

• Did not like overlooking the rooftop, unless it had planter boxes.

• Newly renovated bathrooms--well done.
• Nickel and dimmed for many services: parking, business center, etc.

“Previously stayed at the Marriott Renaissance, down the road, which was a much better 3-star hotel than this. Too much nickel and dime: $10/day for parking. $10/day for refrigerator. $0.70/minute for business center PC. $0.99/page for printing --yikes! Public spaces a bit drab and worn-out. Piano in the lobby was locked and not available to guests--very offensive in my opinion. Why not place it in a far corner of the other vast lobbies with a light and some sofas for guests to enjoy. Elevators were cranky and needed service. Staff would not allow me to borrow a luggage cart to move my own bags. Overall, staff was good and attentive. Maid service inconsistent. Not up to 3-star rating. Marriott in White Plains was superior.”

• The staff was absolutely lovely. Also, the hotel is located in a nice commercial district.
• The facilities are somewhat dated. No mini-bar. Unforgivable in a business hotel.

“Great bargain in a nice, convenient location. The hotel staff was very, very lovely and professional. I was very disappointed to find I could not get a drink after midnight at the hotel (the bar had closed; there is no room service at that hour and no mini-bar in the room). Regardless, I would stay here again.”

• The desk clerk who checked me in truly made me feel welcome.
• I didn't appreciate being charged $10 to park my car overnight.

“This hotel was well appointed, clean and inviting. The staff was all friendly and courteous. When helping my elderly mother from the car, we were offered a wheelchair which, while not necessary, was very nice. I'd certainly stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.”

• One of the elevators as temp. Shut down. Continental breakfast was twenty bucks.

• The staff was very friendly. The parking was great.
• It seemed a little dull and run down in the lobby.

“The Crowne Plaza is centrally located in White Plains and has a wonderful staff. The parking was convenient and reasonably priced. While the lobby could use a facelift, the rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable.”

• Parking at $10 per day was excessive. Other hotels in the area have free parking. They should provide it free to hotel guests.

• No hot tub. Parking not included in price.

“The Crowne Plaza is a good Westchester option in a nice location within White Plains. There are many top-end stores/restaurants within walking distance. It's also very convenient to NYC by train or by car. My only complaint is that they don't have a hot tub - the pool is nice though.”

• Great location for shopping. Nice Room. Restaurant staff was Excellent.
• They were hosting a conference for recovering drug & alcoholics.

“With the Conference going on the hotel was taken over by recovering drug and alcoholics. Wonderful for them and I mean it, but the lobby and dining room was noisy all day into the night. They were every where. This hotel should be for events only. I stayed here one New Year's Eve and it was horrible with drunk spoiled kids running around from the New Years Eve Party. They were rude to us and we had to evacuate because someone pulled the fire alarm at 4a:m. This is not a hotel for Leisure.”

At every encounter, it seemed that each employee--from the front desk manager, to the doormen, to the cleaning staff--had a stake in providing a terrific customer experience. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.”

• The Sleep amenities like the sleep CD, linen spray, etc are a nice touch.
• The price for parking is terrible.

“The Crowne Plaza is a nice hotel in downtown White Plains, the heart of Westchester County. For travelers to New York City, it's a short train ride from Manhattan. The hotel is sparkling clean with an indoor pool, albeit a small one. The staff is friendly and very presentable. The rooms are clean with good sized bathrooms. The clock radio has a CD player and you receive a complimentary CD with soothing sounds to help you sleep better. This sleep package also includes lavender linen spray, ear plugs, and an eye mask. It's a great hotel.”

• This hotel was in a convenient location with highly accessible parking.
• Self-parking fee of $10 was excessive for a hotel of this caliber.

“Overall, this is a quality three-star hotel. Convenience location. Affordable rates. Expected level of cleanliness. Friendly staff. Self-parking fee was on the high-side. Would have preferred a lower rate or parking included in hotel rate.”

• The rooms were well appointed and clean.
• Parking and hallways, elevators etc were creepy.

“The rooms were clean and bright. Fixtures were crooked, esp. in the bathroom. The rooms rated well. The lobby hallways and elevators were tired and dated. The staff lingered in lobby and doorways. Parking staff seems to be a coffee cloche that I repeatedly interrupted. I understand the 3 star rating. I feel lucky to have found this place.”

• The staff was very friendly and professional. The room and hotel were clean and in a good location.
• There were sleep CD's, ear plugs, night mask & even a curtain clip provided for a good nights sleep, but the beds were not very comfortable.

• The complimentary shuttle saved us a ton of dough.
• Not many breakfast choices around.

“We used this hotel as an affordable home-base while visiting NYC. Flying to White Plains airport, as well as the shuttle to the train station, saved us a ton of money, while costing us some time. However, the location made transit to NYC easy and quick via MTA Metro North on express trains. The hotel had what we needed; a comfortable bed, functional bathroom, upscale ambiance, etc.”

“This hotel ran a very efficient shuttle to the White Plains commuter rail station throughout the day and evening. The concierge/bell captain was very knowledgeable of the train schedule. Staff throughout the hotel was very courteous and professional throughout the stay.”

“I travel often with my wife and two younger children. This hotel is a nice family oriented upscale hotel. It is literally right around the corner from the West Chester Mall and Downtown White Plains. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an upscale hotel that is within walking distance of nice shopping and downtown atmosphere.”

“A wonderful place to stay just 30 minutes by train from the city. Every luxury for adults and children. Hotel provides transportation to a variety of locations and you just have to call them to come pick you up. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean and housekeeping staff are on the ball. I would give them a 10 out of 10 and will gladly stay there in the future.”

• Front desk staff seems somewhat confused and under trained.

“Good location in downtown White Plains, walking distance or a short drive to nice restaurants. Hotel is clean and the staff is friendly, but the front desk help is somewhat confused. I have stayed here twice, and both times they have had difficulty handling my very simple check out.”
