• Staff was very helpful and the continental breakfast was outstanding also coffee and hot water for tea was available always.
• The lighting in the room was not real good.

• Cleanliness.
• Other hotel guests noisy and inconsiderate.

“ We liked the cleanliness of the room, but the children across the hotel screamed up and down the halls for hours and we had a wakeup call at 4am that we didn't order. Breakfast was basic continental breakfast - the staff mentioned serving breakfast in the morning, so it sounded like full service, but it wasn't. ”

• The hotel toilet water was rust colored. It eventually went away, but I didn't feel comfortable using the water. I purchase water to brush my teeth.

“The hotel may be okay in a pinch. It's noisy, if you're not a sound sleeper. An electrical socket didn't function. The toilet water was rust colored, but finally cleared up several hours later. However, I didn't feel comfortable using it to brush my teeth, so I purchased water for that purpose.”

“Conveniently located, breakfast hours were lengthy with excellent variety and quantity. Brought my own printer this year because office availability and equipment were not certain to be available when I needed them. Wireless internet worked just fine.”

• The staff was very nice.
• No elevator. My wife has severe knee and back problems and no first floor rooms.

“The hotel will be back to its star once the renovations are finished. The staff tries very hard to please but there are something's they can't overcome.”

• Most everything.
• Phone rang in the middle of the night and woke me (nobody on the line).

“I found the hotel to be clean and the staff friendly and very helpful. Beautiful indoor pool (rooms open directly onto it) and pretty courtyard. Breakfast was good and not crowded. The "spacey" things on the walls that everyone complains about as "dated"...well I think they were kind of cool. It's not like everything was avocado green and shag rugs. The decor is kind of retro, but not old. I would stay here again anytime (and plan to).”

“It is a 1 not a 2. I definitely would not stay here again. It is gouging in Albany in August due to the Saratoga racetrack open (front desk admits raising prices for this). We were on vacation - it was more like being in a cabin for 5 days.”

• It was convenient to the airport.
• The room care was inadequate at first they put us in a room with mold on the walls!

“I would never stay there again. The first night they put us in a room with filthy windows and mold on the wall above the windows, which we did not discover until the next day when we opened the curtains. They moved us at our request. In that room, the care of the room was below standard items not replaced for coffee service, staff came in the room when we had the privacy card on the door; a used towel from a prior guest left in the room the bed made strangely so we had to remake them overall sloppiness.”

“It was definitely not a 2-star hotel. The rooms were not clean. The sheets were dirty. There was a pizza box in the refrigerator and mosquitoes in the room.”

• The staff was very accommodating with respect to the air-conditioning system in my initial room being inadequate.
• The hotel was undergoing extensive renovation.

“Upon completion of the renovation, the hotel has the potential to be rated above average, as for its star level the facility itself is old, but structurally sound. The strength of the hotel was the staff hat in that they were very accommodating and friendly, as well as knowledgeable. If you are looking for a place to sleep without a lot of frills that is well located proximate and a large number of restaurants and other services for a reasonable price, then this may be a place for you.”

• Continental breakfast was quite good and the attendant was friendly.
• Bed sagged in the middle.

“We were supposed to have a king sized bed but when we got to the room it was a queen size with a king headboard. Looked odd! However after we got to bed it was immediately apparent the mattress sagged in the middle and it was quite uncomfortable. Again it was late we were undressed and didn't feel up to calling the desk which we probably should have done. The rest of the hotel looked acceptable and staff was nice.”

• It had a clean bed.
• The room wasn't overly clean. The hotel didn't smell great.

“I was disappointed with the overall cleanliness and atmosphere of the hotel. I forgot to request a non-smoking room, and when we got to the room, found it a smoking room and called to request a change, the response was not overly positive. We were ready to leave and find another place when he came up with a suitable room. We just needed a clean place to lay our heads for a few hours. I felt it was a one-star with the price of a two-star.”

“The hotel is comfortable, convenient and clean, yet a bit dated in design and decor. All desired amenities were present and in good working order. The downsides: room lighting was a bit dim, and the bathroom was too tiny for a couple to use together getting ready to go in the morning.”

“Room had a strange odor, staffing failed to clean the room my first night during my stay, room was not cleaned when first arrived, snow foot prints were left on floor, soap bar was left unwrapped in bathroom. style of rooms was like a 70's throw back.”

• It had an indoor pool.
• Cleanliness, bedbugs, poor temperature control in room, tiny bathroom.

“This hotel did NOT live up to my expectation of a 2-star hotel. It was dimly lit, cold, smelled musty, and we came home with bedbug bites! My entire family was very disappointed about the quality of the hotel, and we would not stay there again under any circumstances. I am a frequent traveler and this did not meet a 2-star ranking!”

• The front clerk was pleasant and helpful.
• The first room was terrible, 2nd room a little better.

“The first room I was in was in horrible shape lights did not work, outlet sparked, the headboard fell off the wall, and the room smelled musty. The 2nd room (requested a different room) was better, cleaner, and did not smell. Bed was not very comfortable and there was a lot of noise and light. The hotel is very old. I would not recommend this hotel to another. On the up side, the front desk clerk was really trying to be helpful.”

“This hotel is great for the traveler that is using it for sleeping purposes. Staff is friendly, rooms and public areas are clean and well maintained. Rooms are not oversized but comfortable for 2 or 3 and hotel is close to gas stations and thruways.”

• The hallways always smelled like smoke.

“This hotel was nice. Since that it was close to the airport with a fast shuttle service and mostly nice workers. I did think that it could use a face lift to get it out of the 70's, although my daughter did find all the rocks in the walls cool. Also having my daughter there with me I did not like how every time we walked out of our room we got a huge inhale of smoke. Not my idea of family friendly.”

“Perfectly good hotel. We got a queen, non smoking room at a great price before we got up at 4am for a flight at the nearby airport. Real seafood restaurant across the street is an added bonus. They have a pool and a restaurant at the hotel. We didn't use them.”

• The room was big and well furnished, the bed was comfortable, and the decor was a bit outdated. The room was very quiet and the airport location was good.
• The sheets seemed old and a bit stained, the bathtub did not drain.

“For the money this was a good hotel to use for a night before flying out of town. The room was big and comfortable, though somewhat outdated. It was quiet and the bed was good. It was clean.”

“The only word I can use to describe this "hotel" is dirty. The carpets were filthy, the beds were so worn, there was a noticeable dip in them, and the linens were dirty. I've stayed in many hotels, some of them considered economy, but I have never been as disgusted as I was at this property. The back door to the hotel stated that it was locked at all times, which it never was, and there were several "seedy" characters simply hanging out, outside the hotel with furniture from inside the hotel. It looked and felt more like a homeless shelter than a hotel.”
