• Complimentary water was nice.
• Air exchange was weak. No plug for the tub.

“Nice rooms, very comfortable beds and it smelled ok. Aside from a lack of HVAC capacity (there was no air exchanger so the room got a little stale without the window open). The room was perfect for my needs otherwise.”

• Windows opened onto hallway, not outdoors.

“I think that this may have been a converted motel. The hallways ran along the outside of the building so that the rooms had windows on the hallways. To keep people in the hall from looking in you had to close your blinds tight. It was really a horrible design. It must have been a retrofit. No sane person would have designed it like this.”

• Very convenient location for shopping, martini bar next to outdoor pool.
• Tons of kids and teenagers -- loud and running through the halls.

“The only reason I rated my experience a 4/10 is not because of the hotel itself, but the other guests. Kids & babies were crying, teenagers were loud and running around, slamming doors constantly. We had to change rooms for the 2nd night, and although it was somewhat better, there were still many teenagers banging doors. I'm thinking there was a basketball tournament that weekend.”

• Gorgeous indoor pool, nicest I've ever seen.
• The blackout curtains were hard to find - for 3 days I thought the room just had sheer curtains and nonfunctional drapes.

• The unique Courtyard and general maintenance.
• The mattress was a bit hard, and the pool closed far too early as we didn't arrive until 9.

“This property is well maintained and has a wonderful roofed over central plaza which is perfect for receptions. The rooms are well appointed, clean, and smell fresh without the use of perfumes. Staff is wonderfully friendly and was able to recommend local attractions as well as give directions to an out-of-the-way location without hesitation. I would actually look forward to staying there again.”

• The pool was excellent and had a life guard.
• Rooms by pool were moldy and not well cleaned.

“We initially were given a room next to the pool. The bathroom floor was sticky and there was visible mold on the ceiling. The shower was filled with uncleaned soap scum. We were cheerfully moved to another room in the tower and it was a vast upgrade more in keeping with what we expected.”

“While friendly, the staff is not particularly helpful. Located close to the airport, the location is good for the traveler -- but a distance from Albany businesses. Not unusual, but not a big plus. The big down side - the non-smoking room was filled with smoke. The sheets, the room, smelled awful, and when tired, these little annoyances add up. While I would not stay there again, I might just be a grouch.”

“Overall this was a great choice for us. We got a great deal on a hotel that was an excellent location for us. I'm sure the restaurant services in the hotel would have been better if it hadn't been close to closing time.”

“The hotel would have met all my expectations except being a lone female traveler the parking lot wasn't well lit, and carrying bags made me uncomfortable. Also when I entered my room, although the room was very clean, there was a huge stain on the rug in the middle of the room, I felt that should have been cleaned before the room was booked, it was a really big stain!”

• The staff was quite accommodating - very friendly.
• There are no elevators located toward the rear of the building near our room.

“The only true drawback for us was that this hotel did not have an easy access elevator near our room. It can be difficult to drag more than a suitcase or two up the stairs! The location of this hotel itself, however, is incredibly convenient for travel to/from Albany Airport. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, even generous. We arrived late at night, just before room service would be closing, and they stayed open and prepared us a late night meal. A staff member cleaning the game room upstairs gave my little girl one free play on the pinball machine. I would absolutely stay here again!”

• The pool was fantastic.
• Housekeeping wakeup at 8 AM was very annoying.

“My greeting upon arriving took 6 min from the time I stepped up to the desk. There were 5 people behind the desk and no one looked up to acknowledge they saw me. Housekeeping woke me up at 8 A.M. I was not provided with a do not disturb sign, also not provided with hotel guide and room service menu. The pool was great and the restaurant was OK.”

• Room was great and included a fridge. They upgraded me to a King room.
• Cannot think of anything I did not like.

“This is a very nice hotel. Not the Waldorf perhaps but for the size and amount of use it gets its very clean and the staff is very accommodating. I have stayed here many times over the years, traveling with an AAU basketball team and more recently just with my spouse and at all times, the rooms were clean and the staff very accommodating. The room I got had a refrigerator in it and the bathroom was very large and clean. It is a great hotel and I will make it a point to stay there whenever I am in the Albany area. The Wolf road area is great loads of restaurant and shopping and very convenient to the highways. Even though it is near the airport I can honestly say that I have rarely ever heard a plane from the hotel. Great place.”

• The pool and restaurant are fab!
• The rooms are getting tired and worn looking.

“This is a great place for a weekend get-away or a business trip. No need to leave the place if you need time off. And close to the airport if you're traveling and there's nothing more convenient to Albany's best shopping and fine dining! We go just to get away from the kids, phone, pets!”

• Icy/dangerous (unsalted) parking lot, noisy, dingy/dirty, cold atmosphere.

“Rooms/ halls/ many areas of the hotel were uninviting, unappealing, lacked warmth, and very poor room directions. Signs indicating room locations were hidden and/or absent. Patrons were seen wandering the main floor looking for their rooms!”

• Non-smoking room smelled a little like smoke.

“The hotel is great. We have stayed there before and travel there now for overnight trips to visit my daughter at RPI. I was a bit disappointed that I could not get the King bed I wanted but, the hotel was very busy that night and the two full beds were fine. The Non-smoking room did have a smell of smoke to it (guess you can't control all the guests) but it was bearable. I would definitely use this hotel again!”
