• Clean, comfortable bed, excellent location.
• Very bad, old television with sound problems; horrible internet access.

“Solid, reliable business hotel near Albany airport. Hotel and rooms are immaculate. I would not recommend this hotel if you need reliable internet access -- old, no longer useful broadband access in many rooms; problematic wireless service; i-bahn tries to help but the equipment is just too old and not upgradeable to current security standards, apparently.”

• The bed was remarkably comfortable!
• The exit door closest to my room was labeled as an exit in the hallway, but marked emergency exit only on the door.

“The Albany Marriott is very well suited to business and leisure travelers. It is very close to the Albany airport and is conveniently located on wolf road, which is right off i-87. There are numerous choices in the immediate area for dining if you choose to eat off site. There is a red lobster across the street and many other chains nearby-Romano¿s macaroni grill, outback steakhouse and the cheesecake factory to name a few.”

• It was the perfect getaway with wonderful amenities.
• The staff allowed barking dogs and little children to run rampant. We couldn't sleep.

“This would be the perfect hotel if the staff monitored the activities of their guests. Not everyone came with their yappy dogs and noisy children. We came to get away from such things. We came to sleep and rest. With all the noise, we were awake till 4a.m. both nights.”

“Overall the hotel would be nice, but misses the mark. During this visit a couple of very minor problems were made worse by poor staff response. There was no liner for the ice bucket in my room. I was told I couldn't pick one up at the front desk and that someone would bring me one. After almost an hour of waiting I called, and they had misplaced my room number? Internet service is about the worst I have encountered from both the standpoint of speed and the physical connection. I would stay here again because the room was decent for the price, but the service was awful.”

• The beds were very comfortable and the staff was great! They even lent me a stapler.

“For the $ they charge, there are few amenities. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night; there was no communication other than a recorded message to "stand by". The sound was deafening for the good part of an hour. It was a false alarm, there was no apology.”

“Room was clean and well appointed, the shower/ tub could use a facelift, but overall the facility met with my needs. Food was a bit expensive, but the quality was satisfactory. Front desk staff was adequate, and paper was at my doorstep in the early am.”

• Desk attendants were super helpful at check-in.
• Waiting for a fax. Desk denied receiving. Critical item for trip. Found next day and claimed just arrived but date was previous day.

“Lovely facility but could smell smoke in hallway. All rooms are supposed to be non-smoking. 99 percent of staff was kind and helpful and ready to fulfill every need or request. All in all, glad we stayed here.”

• It went to a non-smoking hotel without notice.

“I would have been more comfortable in a two bit flea bag. I recommend that smoking/non-smoking become a preference on a hotel that I will not be able to use is of no value to me. A non-smoker would find it a wonderful place. However, I object to having someone's philosophy shoved down my throat at my expense.”

“The hotel itself was excellent, very clean, staff very friendly. Unhappy about the fact that we were given a room which I feel was not intended to be a traditional room. it had a double Murphy bed and an uncomfortable sofa bed which was smaller than a double, this made sleeping very uncomfortable for my spouse, toddler and teenage child.”

• Pretty good location, clean and very comfortable.
• When we got to the hotel, there were no more non-smoking rooms left.

“We stopped in Albany on a 2 day trip up north so were looking for a clean, comfortable, and roomy spot to spend the night with younger children. The Marriott fit the bill perfectly. We would definitely stay again but would be sure to call in advance to request non-smoking rooms. Having said that, however, the smoking room was perfectly fine and did not particularly smell of smoke.”

“Location is ok, there is a lot of stores, restaurants and malls, nearby. Rooms are small & outdated. Rooms are unusually small for a suburban property. I've seen cleaner rooms... The A/C in our room did not cool our room properly. The bed itself was great. The view from our room was of a parking lot. Public areas are old and tired, there's no a/c in the hallways and in the elevators. They place is in need of renovations. The staff was nice and friendly. Parking is ample and free.”

• They forgot our wake-up call.

“Nice hotel, good location to airport for business travelers. The night staff was not friendly and they failed to provide our 6 am wake-up call, which resulted in my wife and two-year old almost missing their flight. The result of the missed wake-up call was that we had to rush straight to the airport. Besides missing a shower and clean clothes, the worst result was we had a two-year old that missed breakfast and had to wait about 3-4 hours before landing to grab food.”

“We got such a deal on this hotel and it was fabulous. I had stayed at the hotel previously for business travel. The staff were great to us and put us on the floor where we could have a delightful breakfast in the morning. We also appreciated the honor bar in the lounge after a long day of travel. We felt very special there.”

• Took forever to get us a crib even though I'd called ahead.

“The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. Also, I liked the little shampoos and lotions that they had. But, they certainly weren't very friendly or helpful. I've stayed at the Hampton -- across the street from the Albany Marriott -- and for the money, the Hampton was a much better stay.”

• I liked the level of quality. The place was inviting. The bed was very comfortable which is a big plus with me. The grounds were well kept. Staff help.

“Hotel location was convenient. When we arrived I questioned if the king bedded rooms has sofa beds, and they did. We were switched to one of those rooms, but I was told on the phone when I called previously, that rooms did not have sofa beds. The front desk staff was very nice, but housekeeping, woke us up at 8:00 AM with a knock at the door.”

• No free Internet. They make you pay $10 to use it.

“The hotel staff as very friendly, the room was great and the bed was very comfy. But I do have an issue with charging for internet, if I were a business traveler on a budget. I would not stay there because of that simple reason. C'mon Marriott, if the Hilton, Holiday Inn, and Radisson are all giving away free internet, shouldn't you?”
