• The hotel was glorious! It surpassed my expectations. The room was huge, comfortable, and affordable.
• The bathroom was a handicap restroom and the shower and sink were very small for the size of the room.

“The hotel was glorious. It surpassed my expectations. The room was very large and quite comfortable. The hotel is across the street from the airport and within 1 mile of major shopping and dining areas, although the hotel offered room service and onsite restaurant. If I am ever in Albany again, I will definitely stay at the HGI.”

“We were very impressed with this hotel. I will definitely stay there again! Very well maintained - thought it was new, but was told it was 10 years old! Having the grill in the lobby to special order food was a big plus! Comfortable room - extra amenities (refrigerator, microwave, sofa).”

“I've stayed at this hotel before and like it very much. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. This trip the parking lot was not plowed of all snow and the sidewalk at the rear entrance was not clear of snow and ice.”

• Front desk staff was rude Im a Hilton diamond member.

“I stay here whenever in town on business and usually have a great time. Again I am a Hilton diamond member and when checking in was told we longer get points when booking 3rd party which was ok. I always get a free bottle of water and breakfast but when I asked the young lady almost tossed my Hilton card back to me and said "you get nothing" want anything else? How do you think I feel about my stay?”

• Pool& hot tub had too much chlorine.

“Everything was wonderful; we stayed there for two nights. Hotel staff was wonderful. Prompt attention to guests requests. Personable caring and extremely friendly. My only disappointment was the pool. I enjoy swimming but could not use the pool because it had too much chlorine in it.”

• Breakfast was good, but expensive. Lobby had funny smell.

“It's a nice-looking hotel. I don't see a lot of difference between this and a 3-star, except maybe room size. The microwave in the room is a nice touch at this level, but some of the omissions in the available cable channels were annoying. Breakfast was decent and cooked to order, but other hotels at this level, while not offering cooked-to-order fare, offer equally substantial buffet-style breakfasts without the nearly $11 per person charge. All in all, while I wouldn't make a special effort to stay at this hotel, I certainly wouldn't be disappointed to end up there again if the choice is made for me.”

“It is located near the airport. The hotel is immaculate. The staff is friendly and very helpful. My room was very clean. The microwave and fridge were also very handy. The shower was large and the water pressure was excellent. My overall experience was great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• It was beautiful! You looked like you were walking into a 4 star hotel.
• Sort of inconvenient you have to drive all the way past the airport and past all the other hotels to get to this one.

“Loved the lobby. Nice private area with fireplace too if you are staying around the hotel or dining there nice place to sit for coffee. Very quiet area, nicely furnished rooms. Very nice hotel.”

“Overall very nicely appointed free Wi-Fi, pool, fitness, on sight restaurant, room frig and microwave. Really everything desirable when traveling. Nice lobby well used by travelers to congregate and relax. Internal noise transfer was little substandard, but overall okay. We will definitely use this hotel again.”

“This hotel by far exceeded my expectations. It was clean, the rooms were spacious with a microwave and fridge, and the staff was very friendly. The only drawback was the location if you have business in downtown. However, if you need to be closed to the airport or if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of wolf road or downtown Albany, this hotel is perfect.”

“Hotel on was nice. I was disappointed when I was assigned a handicapped king room when I a) didnt request one and b) needed a non smoking double. I was traveling with my children. After alerting the staff they did change my room. They put me right by the elevator and ice machine. I had to change rooms again. Other than that it was a brief visit and I have no other complaints.”

• A puddle stayed in the middle of the tub after the shower was turned off.

• The room made me says 'wow'. From the ergonomic chair to the select comfort bed, it had a great feel.
• We slept in a little bit and after returning from a day of movies and shopping, the cleaning crew hadn't been in our room.

“Much better than I was expecting from a 2.5 star place. It was a little bit out there off the main strip, but the 5 minute drive was worth it for the added quality of the room.”

• Quiet, comfortable, good locations, good price, frig and microwave in every room!
• Bed could have been softer (I am very picky about this); I didn't immediately see the black out curtains hiding behind the other curtains!

“Great hotel for the price I paid. Would definitely recommend it. We had noisy (like till 5am-ish) young adult neighbors (thats not the hotel's fault though). If the bed was a smidge softer I would have slept beautifully. Rooms were spacious and each equipped with both frig and microwave - no extra charge. Pool and spa were great. If you want to eat somewhere other then the hotel you will have to drive. I did not eat in the restaurant. Food looked decent but at $10.99/ for basically a continental breakfast we passed! They have coffee and tea set-up 24 hours a day in the lobby that was a nice benefit.”

• They were very friendly at the hotel. It was very clean and well maintained.
• They did not offer free continental breakfast. I stayed in 7 hotels throughout the New England and all of them offered free breakfast.

“The room was very nice and spacious. We were very happy with our stay. I very impressed to have my name preprinted on our room key envelope. I think that is a very nice touch, very personable. I was not happy to find out that they did not offer free breakfast. Every hotel we stayed at during our week long vacation offered breakfast but this one.”

• Very convenient for airport travel.
• Not as nice as other Hiltons I have stayed at.

“The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The kids really enjoyed the pool (even though it is a bit small and shallow). The room was very clean, though not furnished as nicely as other Hilton garden inns I have stayed at. I know this is picky, but there didn't seem to be many channels offered on cable TV compared to other hotels. All in all, I was pleased and would recommend this hotel to all airport travelers.”

“This is a great hotel for travelers who plan to spend a lot of time in their rooms. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms, with their walk-in-showers, are unique. The hotel pool and hot tub were very clean when we visited, and there is a nice fitness center. Staff are friendly and helpful.”

“This is a very nice hotel if you need to be at the airport or are visiting the area (our son goes to college nearby). It is pleasant with coffee and tea available 24/7, a continental breakfast included would be a plus. They have these great moan showerheads in the bathroom, unfortunately, the double layered fabric shower curtain leaks and I had to do a lot of wiping of the floor. I also found the bed very soft; I have a bad back. In all, a nice hotel rated accordingly.”

• Management took too long to respond to maintenance requests.

“Overall, we liked this hotel. The rooms were nice and comfortable with a couch as well as a bed, a TV, and free Wi-fi in the hotel. Our biggest complaint was the service, though. On our first night there our 2 year old locked the bathroom door (thankfully she was not in it). We called and asked them to take care of it and they said they would be right up. A half an hour later they were not - we could not shower or use our toilet. On our way out we again requested it be taken care of. 4 hours later when we returned it was still not taken care of! Also, we arrived late at night and forgot to put our do not disturb sign on the door. At 8 am housekeeping came and we asked them to come back later. They never did, so we had to go to the front desk and request more towels.”

“The last two, three star hotels that I stayed at had featherbed mattress pads that made the beds extremely comfortable. So much so that I went out and bought one for my own bed. If this hotel had the same, I would have considered it at least a three star level.”

• The hotel was comfortable and attractive.
• Management weak; didn't get messages because system broken; room not made up first day.

“Although comfortable and attractive, management does not attend to things promptly. Because our voice mail system wasn't working, we missed several messages. The desk finally took a message and then took no action to ensure we received it, resulting in a missed appointment for us. The spa in the pool area was not working properly - we expected more from a Hilton. Overall, the hotel was clean and comfortable and our stay pleasant. But because of the voice mail problem and our impression that the management team didn't have their act together, we were somewhat disappointed. Because this is primarily a business hotel, we were surprised that greater attention wasn't paid to the voice mail issue. True most people have cell phones, but messages are still left for people at their hotels so this was important.”
