• Nearness to airport, very clean and comfortable.
• Breakfast buffet at $10.95 per person, but looked very good. Did not provide a good listing of restaurants in area with contact info.

“We checked in late, unavoidably and there were no non-smoking rooms available. We had to spend the night with the window open on a chilly fall night smelling stale sheets. I would stay there again in a non-smoking room only.”

• I can't think of anything that I particularly liked.
• The size of the room.

“I called ahead and requested a king size bed, when I got to the room it had two double beds. Although the staff corrected the problem, the length of time it took to correct it, made me late for dinner plans that I had scheduled. I also thought the pool area was awful, especially compared with other hotels I have stayed in.

“I have stayed at Hilton Garden Inn at Albany airport previously. I would be staying here again. The surroundings (gardens and yard) are peaceful and beautiful. The room completely met our expectations. Staff is extremely accommodating and courteous and will help with any questions you have - i.e., restaurants, quickest route etc. I have no negatives re: my stay.”

• The hotel was quiet and easy to reach. I had a very comfortable stay. The staff was very professional.
• When arriving in the late evening I found it very difficult to find the service personnel to check in. It took me 30 minutes to obtain service.

“I enjoyed my overall stay at this hotel and would gladly return to this facility for travel. I had a restful nights stay.”

• Hotel staff was very nice, responded quickly to complaint of noise.
• They are in the midst of renovations. There was a banging noise for a long time until I called the main desk and complained.

“You can hear every noise in the hall, the noise comes from under the door. Our room was okay, it had not been renovated yet. I would not stay again, but for one night it was ok.”

• Good sized rooms, nice decor, and room service.
• Poorly thought out space, thin walls, hotel overlooks a correctional facility!

“This is an adequate, but not good, hotel. On the plus size, the public area is upscale looking, there is a small indoor pool and hot-tub, the room is spacious, and you are very close to the airport. On the downside, you can hear your neighbors quite clearly, the Albany Correctional Facility is only a few hundred yards from the hotel, the space planning in the room is poor, especially in the bathroom where there is only a stand-in shower and no tub, with no place to put your shampoo/conditioner/razor/etc. The set-up guaranteed your bathroom floor was flooded every time youre finished in the shower. The bathroom had a tiny sink with no room to store toiletries and is wedged in next to the long shower stall, the toilet is stuck in a different corner, and yet the bathroom itself was huge with enough wasted space to fit a king-sized bed! Another drawback was the TV had a very small screen and looked like it came second-hand out of a Motel 6-not what you would expect from a Hilton. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with this hotel and would not recommend it unless you need a hotel right next to the airport for early morning travel.”

• A lot of noisy kids due to hockey team staying at hotel.

• Rooms and public areas were all very clean, the hotel was quiet.
• Hotel restaurant seemed pricey.

“Was worried about being so close to the Albany (NY) airport and the noise of the planes...never heard the planes. The staff was friendly and always smiling. The room was comfortable, a little smaller than I expected, but it worked okay for my family (spouse and 2 children). We had a mini fridge and coffee maker in the room that came in very handy. Initially the beds looked on the small side but in reality were so comfortable that we slept thoroughly. We were so pleased that we opted to stay a second night instead of moving to the Holiday Inn where the rest of our group was staying that night.”

• Hot tub was down, staff's knowledge of area was limited.

“The hotel was basically clean, and quiet. There weren't many people around. The pool area was small, so there were no chairs in the pool area. The hot tub was down, but after refilling, it seemed to be okay. The staff could've used a bit more customer service training, but all in all, it was a standard stay for a Hilton Garden Inn.”

• The hotel was glorious! It surpassed my expectations. The room was huge, comfortable, and affordable.
• The bathroom was a handicap restroom and the shower and sink were very small for the size of the room.

The hotel is across the street from the airport and within 1 mile of major shopping and dining areas, although the hotel offered room service and onsite restaurant. If I am ever in Albany again, I will definitely stay at the HGI.”

• Front desk staff was rude Im a Hilton diamond member.

“I stay here whenever in town on business and usually have a great time. Again I am a Hilton diamond member and when checking in was told we longer get points when booking 3rd party which was ok. I always get a free bottle of water and breakfast but when I asked the young lady almost tossed my Hilton card back to me and said "you get nothing" want anything else? How do you think I feel about my stay?”

“It's a nice-looking hotel. I don't see a lot of difference between this and a 3-star, except maybe room size. The microwave in the room is a nice touch at this level, but some of the omissions in the available cable channels were annoying. Breakfast was decent and cooked to order, but other hotels at this level, while not offering cooked-to-order fare, offer equally substantial buffet-style breakfasts without the nearly $11 per person charge. All in all, while I wouldn't make a special effort to stay at this hotel, I certainly wouldn't be disappointed to end up there again if the choice is made for me.”

• It was beautiful! You looked like you were walking into a 4 star hotel.
• Sort of inconvenient you have to drive all the way past the airport and past all the other hotels to get to this one.

“Loved the lobby. Nice private area with fireplace too if you are staying around the hotel or dining there nice place to sit for coffee. Very quiet area, nicely furnished rooms. Very nice hotel.”

“Overall very nicely appointed free Wi-Fi, pool, fitness, on sight restaurant, room frig and microwave. Really everything desirable when traveling. Nice lobby well used by travelers to congregate and relax. Internal noise transfer was little substandard, but overall okay. We will definitely use this hotel again.”

The only drawback was the location if you have business in downtown. However, if you need to be closed to the airport or if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of wolf road or downtown Albany, this hotel is perfect.”

“Hotel on was nice. I was disappointed when I was assigned a handicapped king room when I a) didnt request one and b) needed a non smoking double. I was traveling with my children. After alerting the staff they did change my room. They put me right by the elevator and ice machine. I had to change rooms again. Other than that it was a brief visit and I have no other complaints.”
