• Kitchen with fridge/freezer and microwave.
• Uncomfortable bed and thin pillows.

“The kitchen is fully functioning, with a full size fridge/freezer, two burners, and a microwave. We were a bit concerned though when we saw that the staff does not wash the dishes, so bring your own dish soap. The bed was not very comfortable (hard) and the pillows were very thin, but it works for a night or two. Good location for us too.”

“Efficiency appliances lend to comfortable, economic longer-term stay. Convenience to interstate key for accessing routes to get to appointments without inner-city driving/confusion. Very safe neighborhood. Close access to dining, gas, coffee.”

• Price, location, no frills is fine, kitchen is nice.
• We called to upgrade to 2 double beds, this hotel does not offer this, but we were not told. Smells awful! Clerk yelled at us!

“Very poor experience, room smelled like old cigar smoke, really bad. Clerk yelled at us because he was frustrated. We called to upgrade to sleep 4, we were told no problem. When we arrived no upgrade, and furthermore this hotel does not even have rooms that can sleep 4. Poorly trained staff.”

“The first room they gave us had dirty counters, microwave and a large spill of pink liquid left inside a cabinet. The second room had a beer can on the windowsill and sticky rings on the bedside table. We were told they had no other rooms for us. We spent the night and left as early as possible the next day. The clerk admitted that hotel visitors routinely complain about cleanliness. Dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in.”

• Helpful and friendly staff, clean and quiet.
• No mattress pad, old sheets stretched out and off the mattress.

“It is located close to state highways. It was a very quiet area and nice and clean. The kitchenette was a nice surprise. The best thing was the helpful staff members. We appreciate the personal helpfulness.”

“The hotel itself is fabulous. We stayed there because my four year old niece loves the place, since staying there last year at this time. We hope to keep staying there.”

• The location close to the highway.
• Was not as clean as I would have expected.

“It was close to the highway which made it easy access but there were cobwebs all along the walls and the vent in the bathroom was covered with dust. The dishes that were provided were dirty and the drawer where the utensils were kept was dirty. There was only one glass even though the room could have held two adults. There were no bowls. If someone wanted to have cereal for breakfast they were unable to do so.”

• The iron had rusted and dirtied my blouse. No blow drier in room.

“The hotel was fine, met my expectations. I don't expect a big fancy place. I need a safe bed to sleep in. I came in at 2:00 in the morning, the front desk staff was in their rooms, came out very friendly, no resentment toward my late arrival. If it were closer to my preferred area (Siena College) I would stay there every time I go to Albany. About 5 times a year.”

• Smell of Cigar Smoke in Hallway - No Continental Breakfast.

“Great location directly across from SUNNY. Few minutes to Excelsior College and Wal-Mart. Convenient kitchen. Clean adequate bathroom. Extended Stay has limited cable TV channels, as usual. Next door to Marriott and Red Carpet, but much cheaper!”

• The staff did their best to help me find my way to the hotel when I was lost.
• The kitchen wasn't really clean. There were no basics like salt, soap, sponges etc.

“This hotel served my needs for economy and location. There are no extras except one bar of soap in the bathroom. Staff was very helpful. Safe area.”

“I checked at about 4PM and was given a room that hadn't been cleaned. They then gave me another room that had been cleaned, but not very well. The toilet was nasty, there was a spider cocoon on the mirror and I found hair in the bed. The staff was very friendly and gave directions to local stores and restaurants. The room was fairly utilitarian with a few much appreciated amenities, such as a kitchenette complete with stove top, fridge, coffeemaker, and microwave and sinks complete with a few dishes and utensils. High speed internet that I normally don't have to pay for was $4.99 extra and the signal was so weak, I got frustrated and gave up. Jane from Middleboro, MA commented that the front desk had an iron bar and glass window? She obviously commented on the wrong hotel. Overall this place is a great value but the housekeeping leaves much to be desired.”

• Furniture was dusty; no remote for the TV; the front desk couldn't give directions to main retail street in the area nor to fast food establishments.

“Overall, it was convenient, quiet, and the bed was comfortable. We were first given a room that hadn't even been cleaned (at 11:45 am), but subsequently given another. It was 5 minutes away from our meeting venue & because we knew the layout of the city, it was easy to go to & fro.”

• Trash room was overfull at times.

“Extended stay America is the best hotel I know of for visitors who like to live economically and comfortably. It is a place where guests can cook their own meals and fell at home (including taking out their own trash) at a reasonable price, and without constant interference by vacuum wielding maids.”

• The layout of the room was good.
• The room was not very clean and needed remodeling.

“If you like to fix your own meals, this hotel is perfect because of its kitchenette. However, there were cobwebs in the corners and the room we stayed in was in sore need of remodeling, particularly in the bathroom. Remember to bring your own blow-dryer as this amenity was not provided.”

“Although this is billed as an extended stay hotel, I would not want to stay there for long. Yes, it has a good-size refrigerator, but it is a very basic single room, sparsely decorated and appointed. It was fine for my 2 night stay by myself.”

• Nice sized rooms at reasonable price.
• Kept awake by guests in nearby room arguing and throwing things.

“Although the hotel itself was clean and comfortable, we did have an incident there. We were awakened by noise coming from a nearby room where a fight was occurring--that is, arguing, shouting, and throwing things. The noise continued for quite a while. As we were checking out, another guest in line in front of us complained about the noise. The manager gave the guest a voucher for a free night to compensate her for the inconvenience. When I mentioned the disturbance to the manager, he apologized, but offered nothing more. ”

“At registration, I felt as though I was being pushed through. Keys and papers were all in piles waiting for guests' arrival. I requested King Size Bed, NON Smoking. I was put into a room with smoking, and a DOUBLE bed. I went to the front desk and was accommodated a new room (not nicely), to a NON Smoking room, and a queen size bed. The room was grungy, with only one chair. It had a kitchenette, with a stove and FOOD and VEGETABLES in the cabinets. It was disgusting. At check-out, there was no one at the desk, but it was secured with an iron bar and glass window. I didn't feel safe at the hotel, and would NEVER recommend this brand hotel to anyone.”

• Rooms were not very clean.

“The hotel had all the conveniences, close to shopping, Sunny college and restaurants. The room had a refrigerator, stove, microwave and breakfast counter. However, the room was not very clean. Leftover pizza boxes in refrigerator, dirty glasses in the cabinet. Stained curtains. Staff was very courteous. Unfortunate that it was not clean.”

• Great location for airport. Kitchen and Internet in room very useful.
• Late check in was awkward with need to call to find staff. Toilet was dismantled in room and non-smoking room smelled of smoke.

“GREAT VALUE , VERY NICE PEOPLE, EVERY THING I NEEDED WAS IN THE ROOM, I STAYED FOR 6 + MONTHS AND THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST VALUE I HAVE EVER FOUND AND ANYONE WHO SAYS THIS IS NOT A GOOD HOTEL MUST BE HIGH OR SOMETHING, A++++”

• cheap price, apparently for a reason
• poor maintenance Maid service is not as promised

“Worst hotel experience in US-- the sheets on the bed were used and included pubic hairs. Toilet was broken and management knew it. Have had to argue to get clean sheets.”
