• The location is convenient, the staff very friendly, and the room was pleasant.
• The room wasn't as clean as the last visit, and the stairwells are not very secure.

“I like the hotel, the staff is very friendly, the complimentary breakfast is very good. The pool is very nice, but lighting is a little poor, and the water must be cleaned using a saltwater system because it was "salty", didn't like that. The bathroom was not as clean as the last visit. I usually base my stay on cleanliness over anything else, so this was dissapointing. Overall, the stay was comfortable, and the price equitable.”

• how it was within 5 minutes walking distance of my destination.
• The smoking section of rooms reeked of smoke.

“The smoking floor of the hotel absolutley stuck. I understand it was the only smoking section, i wanted a smoking room, but i thought they could have kept it smelling a little fresher. The air conditioner worked in 5 min. spurts and shut off and turn on spontaneouly. My boyfriend found that a couple of swift kicks got it started.”

• The breakfast was excellent/great variety.
• I had no microwave in my room.

“This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. And if we return to Albany we will stay here again. It was convenient for the ECAC Hockey Championship. Good food, comfortable rooms and swimming pool was enjoyed by all.”

• Very convenient to the University at Albany.
• It was not very clean and needed updating.

“Although it was convenient to the University, I would not stay again. It was very dirty, the air conditioner/heating unit was caked with dirt. The furniture was dusty and threadbare.”

• Walls are paper thin and you can hear everything.

“NY Giants training camp was going on and the place was crazy. We were unable to fall asleep until after 2am because the room next door was blaring the TV. It's right off the throughway which is nice. The breakfast was ok but nothing spectacular.”

• The hot breakfast was a very nice surprise.
• Everything else.

“The hotel could not accommodate our request to have 2 beds. We got a cot instead which barely fit into the tiny room we had. The hotel was in the middle of no where. We had to go all the way to the bar to get a bottle opened, they couldn't provide one to our room. The stat of the area behind the front desk was disgustingly dirty. The room was pretty old, empty. This hotel could use some upgrading. The one shining light was the hot breakfast, which I loved.”

• The location was very convenient and pleasant, and the food at the restaurant for breakfast was fantastic.
• The only thing I could possibly say was negative was that the decor could use a pick up. However, it was clean and neat and adequate.

“We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was clean, in a good location and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food at the breakfast included in the price of the room was fantastic and the pool was very relaxing and and refreshing. I did miss not having a jacuzzi, but the sauna worked well.”

“Hotel was easy to find. Staff was friendly, could be more prof. Elevators too small and only two-one near front desk, another around the corner down the hall. Hotel was hot, but luckily the rooms where cool. The rooms where nice, but bathroom sink was small - no were to put my things and the bed was horrible. Loved the fact they had a pool and a small exercise room. The continental breakfast was better than most other hotels I've stayed. I also liked they bar, did have to go far for a drink. Bartenders were great!”

• The first room had the lock broken off the door. The second room had mold and an odor.

• Rooms needed rehab pretty bad, a bit noisy.

“I personally would not use again as the star is really like a 1.5 star. If you are picky and want a nice place to stay, do not stay here. The place is in a state of disrepair from faucets dripping, wallpaper peeling and no money put into facility. How can they do that to animals that they should protect?”

• Attractive within its class.
• Saturday night drunks in room below us, we got no restful sleep.

“A nicely maintained property & good value within its class; conveniently located. BUT hotel staff not altogether friendly or helpful when we complained about excessive noise at 3:00 AM. It's their job to investigate and confront--not the task of their paying guests who are just trying to get some sleep!”

• My room was in very poor shape to receive guests.

“This hotel could be a good, reasonable 2-star hotel. But my experience was poor because the room was poor. No sheets on the bed. Trash in the bedside table. A clock that did not work. A bathroom timed light that would not go off. A TV that got stuck in the menu. The restaurant is dark and den-like, but the meal was good and the service very good.”

• The restaurant and breakfast was ok.
• They lost my bags and than the manager gave me guff, the maids and van drivers were cool.

“The location, in comparison, other than being close to the college. Management is grossly incompetent. Their front door was not working; it looks like a lousy motel from the 50's inside and out. Probably the worst run innkeeper I have stayed at.”

• Computer was down, was given 3 different rooms, one was occupied, one was under construction, past 11pm check in, not happy!

• Built in 2 sections - very long corridors.

“I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel - was not expecting something so attractive and full-featured for a 2-star rating. It was clean, had all the amenities, including pool, and included a full (not Continental) breakfast in the price. The only drawback was how spread-out it was - the corridors were quite long, and might be hard for someone who had trouble walking.”
