• I loved the service, cleanliness, near the subway & shopping.
• A pool or hot tub would have been nice and larger elevators.

“This hotel was really great. There were marble tile floors in the bathroom, the linens were so soft and the bed was very comfortable. The bell service was great and everyone including the conceirge was so helpful. I would highly recommend it.”

• The hotel's location; the decor of the room; the helpfulness of the staff.
• The size of the room is smaller than I am used to for a Marriott.

“Beautiful hotel. Room was on the small side, but not bad for New York. Room was spotless. We were in the back, away from the elevators so it was very quiet. The rooms were lovely and clean. The bed huge (king size) and comfortable. We had a room at the back of the hotel so we had no trouble with road noise. Staff was consistently attentive and courteous. The hotel is situated across from the Intercontinental hotel and Waldorff Astoria near the Chrysler building, so it is a mere 15 minute walk to times square or 5th avenue for a bit of shopping.”

• The bedding was beautiful and luxurious. I liked the individual cup of coffee offered. Free newspaper.
• I think Wi Fi should be offered free.

“The Marriott NY East met my expectations for a very nice hotel in the heart of mid-town. I had a basic room but it was styled modern and lovely. I appreciated the amenities of free newspaper, fine bedding, individual cup of coffee, refrigerator, and quality hair dryer. I would definitely stay here again.”

• Some of the staff and location.
• Being flooded, nasty guard locking us out of our room, etc.

“Our room flooded, and we were paraded around the hotel at 1:00 AM in the morning. The first room smelled like smoke, and the bell-hop said that was all they had. However, the next day, after checkout was extended, we were locked out of the room (we checked on the extension before we left the hotel), and a very unprofessional and power-hungry rent-a-cop/guard, would not let us in the room.”

“The hotel was perfectly located in mid-town. Room service never answered their phone even though I called various times throughout the day. The general hotel staff more than made up for my poor experience with room service. They were very accommodating and knowledgeable. I received an early check in and a 2 pm check out. I recommend this hotel.”

“The Marriott New York Eastside turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Check-in was quick (and they had a room for me at 11:30 am). The room, while on the small side, had quite a large bathroom, and was very comfortable. I would definitely stay at this hotel should my business bring me back to this Eastside neighborhood.”

• All the hotel staff members were exceptionally friendly, efficient, and accommodating in every situation.
• There was nothing I didn't like about the hotel.

“We anticipated chaos upon arrival, but the very minute we arrived at the hotel door, the hotel street staff had us unloaded and our car was whisked away to be parked. Checking in was speedy and friendly, and it was a relief to find they had given us the unusual bed selection we had requested (two beds in each room). The rooms were beautifully appointed and very clean. Checkout was efficient, and they held our bags until later in the day. When we later came to retrieve the bags and our car, it took less than 10 minutes for us to be on our way back home.”

• The room was right by the elevator and so noisy late at night.

“A very good hotel located within easy walking distance of Broadway and other attractions. Great bar with snacks. Very friendly and accommodating staff. My husband left some clothes in a drawer (thinking I had packed them) and the staff located them and held them for him to pick up the next day. Great service.”

• I know Manhattan and the location of this hotel. It was a tremendous savings.
• No fan in the bathroom.

“This Marriott is right across from the Waldorf Astoria. It is in the best location to visit the theaters, the park, and the museums. The hotel was clean, comfortable, quiet, and welcoming.”

“We were very pleasantly surprised at this hotel. It appeared to be newly renovated & very clean. The staff was very friendly & helpful. Although we have stayed at many Marriotts around the world this was one of the nicest. The location was great, close to Penn Station & a subway line. Also a lot of restaurants and bars close by. I would recommend it to anyone visiting that area of Manhattan.”

• The room was spotless and the design of both the lobby and room made it seem like a luxury hotel.
• Wanted to extend a second night at same rate and couldn't, but not their fault!

“Great staff; lovely room with beautiful bathroom. Perfect location if you don't mind a bit of a walk to touristy type places. Midtown, convenient, safe, but not in the middle of all the chaos. Much better than the Park Central New York which I stayed at the week before and which cost far more.”

• Non smoking hotel newly renovated beautiful.
• I can find no fault with this hotel.

“I stayed with my daughter and 9yr old granddaughter, the hotel is non smoking, we had a large corner room with king bed and queen size sleeper sofa. The bedding was very comfortable, lots of pillows. Bathroom was also large and had the most wonderful shower head. I would give this hotel a 4 star rating. The staff is very helpful. Free morning coffee in lobby and cereal, fruit, muffins etc for sale at a reasonable price.”

• The bed and sheets were soft and unbelievably uncomfortable.
• The concierge tried to sell us a bus tour package when asking directions to attractions and became not interested when we did not want it.

• Simple, close to various shops.
• Cost to park our car, a rip off at 450. Parking should be free.

“The room we got was nice and plain. The bathroom door would not lock and after telling the hotel staff, they did not fix it. So we could not use the bathroom in private. Over all no one bothered us in the hotel. The walls were thin because we could hear people talking in the hallway and in the other room. Also the room had to hair dryer like other hotel rooms that isn't a one star hotel.”

• Location wasn't that great. Safe and all but far from major attractions.

“I was pleasantly surprised with the service and quality of the room at the Marriott eastside. The room was newly decorated. In-room coffee maker and small refrigerator (excellent for bottled water). The bathroom was above average with marbled floor and countertop - extra wide shower head. Wide screen TV was also a nice surprise. The staff was always friendly and helpful when entering & exiting the hotel. Overall, I will definitely return to this hotel.”

• Conveniently located, nice clean room, very comfortable bed.
• Elevators are small and stuffy, no air circulating.

“Hotel rooms were clean and roomy. Bed and linens were very comfortable. View from the room wasn't the greatest, overlooked the roof of a building that was being renovated, but wasn't in the room that much anyway. Remote for the television was tricky - paid to watch the Discovery Channel by accident; might want to call desk and have a lock put on the "pay per view". Overall, great experience, would not hesitate to stay there again.”
