• Location.
• The Hilton Timeshare salesmen.

“The room purchased through Priceline was probably 10 x 10, one of the smallest in which I've stayed. Was very disappointed that it was a double bed.”

• Great size bathtub to relax in.
• I was asked if I wanted a king size bed and said "yes" not what I got.

“This Hotel was very fancy for a new southern traveler like me. I appreciated being able to drop off my luggage prior to checking in then not having to pay as I was expecting. I am also glad for delivery of food from local vendors so I did not have to pay so much for food & drinks. I guess the economy has forced me not to be able to splurge on those extras.”

• The room was well designed and comfortable. Great bathrooms.

“The hotel was everything I needed and more. Clean, quick elevators, convenient to all the locations I needed to visit. I really wish I had more than one night at this hotel. It was not a huge room, but so well laid out, decorated and very comfortable.”

• Good looking, but functionally superior in design despite small NY style rooms.

“I will by preference stay in Hiltons from this point forward. I have never been all that impressed with hotel accommodations. I won't stay in hotels below a 3 or 4 star level due to cleanliness concerns, but I have never been impressed with a 4 or 5 star hotel in any meaningful way. This Hilton's hotel room was different, it was good looking, but more important functionally superior to other hotels I have stayed at.”

• It was centrally located to the places I needed to be.
• The rooms are in need of renovation.

“While the hotel is in a great location, the hotel is in need of some renovation. The bathroom was old and the room had a must smell. It also appears that the hotel allows pets, which is never a good sign.”

• clean bathroom and linens were great
• entertainment center and tv is sort of out dated

“overall, hotel was nice and I'll recommend to friends and families. However, one of the elevator made a uncomforting noise (clunking sound). And dirty dishes in a tray was left in the hallway for a couple of days. I saw them when I checked in to my room and they were still left there in the hallway the following day till late in the evening. I was in the room next to them.”

• fantastic location - cheap price by NY standards

“Although guaranteed just a single queen size bed, our family of four was accomodated with two beds with absolutely no hassle. Room met expecations for a 4-star hotel and view from 23rd floor was OK.”

• Unbeatable location!
• Room was noisy all day and night! Next to elevators!

“The hotel room was terrible! I was surprised that they actually have a noise room, next to elevators and air conditioning system that run all night. The noise could be heard all time. Nevertheless, the location and amenities were great! BTW, expect to pay $15 gym fee if plan to use it!”

• Good location.
• The room had a bad strange smell, had 2 open window.

“The room had a poor musty smell to it. After keeping the window open the whole night, I didn't notice the smell so much but when I came back to the room again in the AM, it still smelled. I really should have gone down and complained about the room when I first checked in. I was not happy.”

• Quiet. Rooms recently renovated.
• Not enough elevators, making checkout difficult. Parking facility was overcrowded.

“The hotel has a large but cold lobby. The staff is courteous, but not overly helpful. The rooms are normal size for New York and recently renovated. The Hotel is not layed out to comfortably handle regular guests and conferences at the same time, as we encountered on our stay.”

• The room was clean and had apparrently new furnishings. The location was great.
• The room was very tiny. The staff is not overly friendly and the bar is not partcularly attractive.

• Queen deluxe was a closet, hot/no AC, no tub/health club cost extra.

“The Queen deluxe was so small the bed was against the wall on one side, no bedside table, you had to scoot to the end of the bed to get out on that side. Should not charge extra for health club. Should always have AC available for their guests. Room was very hot.”

• Great location for museums, and shows.
• Room very small - but clean, modern and attractive nonetheless.

“The New York Hilton is exactly what you expect - huge, impersonal, very clean, up-to-date and well-managed. Primarily oriented towards business travelers and convention - goers, it's very good in all those aspects. Amenities and food are typically overpriced, but at 6th and 53rd, your alternatives are countless, close by and easily accessible. Lack of in-room Wi-Fi, and overpriced internet access are typical of hotels in this category, and regrettable.”

• Location and comfortable bed.
• Extras were super expensive (internet, gym, drinks in lobby).

“We enjoyed our stay and found our room to be comfortable (although a little small). The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed to location and found it to be close to many activities. It was great to be close to the park.”

• You need to ask for a room by the stairs. Come to find out rooms are behind the loud elevators.

“The hotel lobby and rooms were beautiful. The bathroom was nice. The hotel was clean, but a queen size room was small for 2 adults unless you are use to living in NYC. I would recommend the hotel, but ask for a room by the stairs.”

• Excellent location.
• Maintenance issues.

“I was impressed with the overall location of the hotel. It is excellent for a first time traveler. However, my hotel room did not meet my needs. I booked for a double occupancy and was given a room with a double bed in it. When I asked to switch room I was told I had to pay more. Then the room I was up sold had windows that would not close and a bed that kept collapsing. I was not offered another room.”

• Efficient checkin, location is great, nice room with view.
• Room was next to elevator (though was quiet).

“Some may find it too large and impersonal, but this Hilton regularly delivers fantastic value. The rooms are small but nicely done, and look like they were refurbished fairly recently. The hotel is set back in the block, so you aren't looking out your window into an air shaft.”

• Overcrowded lobby

“Basic room suitable for business, but lighting was inadequate. There appeared to be several conventions and conferences going on at all times and the entire ground floor was overcrowded and unpleasant. There were frequently unbelievable crowds in front of the elevators and I sometimes had to wait ten minutes to be able to go up to my room. Certainly not my first choice in New York.”
