• Fabulous location, great amenities, huge value.
• Charge for luggage storage, billed for mini-bar that we didn't use.

“A fantastic hotel in the perfect location, we could walk everywhere. Rooms are newly renovated and spotless. Parking at $48 a day not bad for NYC. Negatives were that the staff wasn't helpful, they charged per item for luggage storage, were pushy about timeshares and we were billed for mini-bar items we didn't use. Having said that it was still a great choice for NY.”

• Price was attractive.
• Room was run-down, badly maintained.

“I was expecting much more of a 4-star hotel. Room was very shoddy, wallpaper peeling off wall, mini-bar inaccessible, ventilation was noisy, vents were dirty, tub was dirty, TV reception and channels were a mess, never received a promised invoice or newspaper in the morning. Very disappointing. Not a 4-star hotel by any means.”

• We got upgraded to a deluxe king room. Very nice.
• We really wish it had a pool and hot tub.

“Having stayed there before, I pretty much knew it was a great hotel to stay at. We were blown away by the room. It was beautiful and far exceeded our expectations. We would have loved to stay another night!”

• The location is perfect for experiencing the best of New York city.
• The bathroom is quite small with virtually no counter space. No view at all unless you get an upper floor.

“The location is fantastic-walking distance to so much, or just a cab ride away. Next time, I would request a room on an upper floor so I could have a view. Our window looked out upon a cement roof with maintenance equipment. But New York City was just below! I would stay there again.”

• Hotel and the room was clean.
• The extra costs for services that are normally free in most hotels.

“I loved the location, close to major attractions and sights. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. What I did not like about this hotel was that they charged the guests $12 for a pass to use their health club. The equipment could have been better for the fee. Also, in order to check my bags after checking out, a fee of $3.50 per bag was required. This is a service that is normally free in most hotels.”

• Mid-town Manhattan location.
• First room checked into was dirty, 2nd had only one bed, 3rd and final room reassigned was just right.

“Nice hotel in prime Manhattan location. But very disappointed in our first room, it was dirty, with prior occupants toiletries left behind, razor in tub, used toothpaste tube left on counter, towels unfolded and missing, etc. Definitely not what you expect from a Hilton. Room we finally ended up with was fine.”

• Location in the Theatre District.
• They provided in room coffee, but only one cup and there were two of us.

“Typical convention hotel with all amenities and great. Theatre District location. We stayed in a newly furnished room with a queen size bed, which was the only disappointment. The room features were very well thought out and were quite sufficient.”

• The staff at this hotel are excellent.
• Our bed was one of the worse we have ever slept on in a Hilton chain and we travel often.

“I have good things to say about this hotel the ambience and staff the food the location is all top notch. Everything was wonder except for the bed that was one of the worse ones that we have slept on in the Hilton chains. As we are frequent Hilton guest this is very rare. As it was late before we used out bed we just suffered the uncomfortable restless night.”

• The lighting in the lobby has a yellowish hue that is unattractive.

“We needed a room for one night and this was perfect for our needs. The beds are very comfortable. The bathroom was small but adequate. It wasn't noisy which was a huge bonus. I'd stay there again.”

• Long lines for check-in; long wait for luggage hold and had to pay $3.50!

“Overall, a good experience - great location. The check-in was incredibly long though with only 1 person working at the desk. The wait for the luggage hold was inexcusably long because of overflow in the main room; everyone was herded to a downstairs room then had to wait 15+ minutes for security to unlock the door! Then I had to pay $3.50 for each checked luggage! The lobby is dark and cold looking. Room was nice, but rather small.”

• Luxury, everything looks perfect.
• Staff is bad, horrible assistance, not friendly at all, they look for your money, a couple of smile would help.

“Extremely upset about the staff and they mood. If you want the front desk treat you fine, you have to show them the money, house keeping keep knocking on door even if you beg to stop. Everything is perfect, the staff horrible, they should fire everybody, I even change the hotel because I was too upset.”

• It is gigantic; I generally prefer smaller hotels.

“The Hilton is large and bustling and rather business-centric. Efficiently run, well staffed, with nicely appointed rooms and public spaces. Location is convenient base for various excursions to theater, museums, Central Park.”

• Last call at the bar was 12:00.

“This hotel is in a great area of the city. If you can find street parking it is only $9 for the night. The staff was great and the lobby was beautiful.”

“This hotel was not a 4 star hotel. The rooms were old and needed update, they wanted to charge us for every little things, even to use the fitness center $18.00 a day. I was not please with this hotel at all.”

• Room that smelled a lot of smoke and was by the elevator shaft.

“Great location with beautiful accommodations, but had to change rooms twice due to strong smoke smell in non-smoking rooms. Staff did oblige with free breakfast to help off set the frustrations. Would definitely return!”

“This hotel is crawling with tourists, many of them pushy foreigners that don't understand the concept of letting people out of the elevator before shoving their way into the elevator. The hotel restaurant is overpriced and the food was cold. I could not recommend this hotel other than as a joke.”

• I really enjoyed the fact that I could check in bypassing the front desk.
• The view wasn't the best out of my room this time, but I was in New York!

“The hotel was great. The staff very helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to others as well as stay here again with no problems. There's also a very cozy lobby lounge that was great, with prices at a hotel that weren't outrageous.”

• At check in the woman would not grant us 2 double beds. Had to wait until 3 pm, then they allowed us.

“Its NYC. This hotel was perfect for that. The rooms were only and dingy and need to be renovated. For the amount of time spent in the room it wasn't a problem for us.”

• Friendly accommodating staff, upgraded to amazing room.
• Very busy, full of tourists.

“I was upgraded to a 1400 sqft suite on the executive level for an extra $. Very friendly helpful staff. Suite was super luxurious with 2 bathroom, living, dining, sitting area, wet bar, separate bedroom with king bed, 2 TVs (1 flat screen). Greatly exceeded my expectations.”

• In comparison to other NYC hotel rooms our room was pretty big. The Hotel staff was really nice.
• Our neighbors how packed in what sounded like 8 people in one room and woke us up at 4 am every night we were there.

“The hotel's location was great and only a short walk from the subway. The staff was really friendly and accommodating. I had a great experience for the exception of the neighbors.”

• Once been stopped by a night guard asking (rudely) for room key.

“A great hotel in Midtown West area. Close to everything. Staff is courteous and efficient. Our non-smoking room smelled cigarette. Talked to front desk and got to move to a king-size bed room promptly. Great service. Will definitely come back.”

• The room was large, modern and clean with a spa-like bathroom.
• The wait to check-in was very long, and there was no pool.

“I wish I had more time to spend at the Hilton NY! It was a beautiful hotel with a luxurious flair and great amenities. I really wish there had been a pool, but the exercise facilities were very nice and the room was relaxing, roomy, and comfortable.”
