  • Nothing. Very unsatisfied with stay. States that this hotel was a Starwood Hotel, yet run by outsider with different policies and commitments.

“Hotel did not meet a 4* rating. This hotel should not be any higher than a 3 staff. Room service walked into our room unannounced early Sunday morning without knocking! This was an uncomfortable experience and should have never happened. In comparison of other 4* hotels in NYC, this ranked much lower than a 4*.”

  • The common spaces were nice. Great location. Concierge was very knowledgeable and helpful.
  • While the room was updated, it still felt like a 3 star instead of 4+ star.

“This hotel was a good place to stay to visit NYC mainly due to its location. Great access to key neighborhoods. We were disappointed by our room. The carpet felt dirty and the bath-tub was not at par with the sink, which was much nicer. We also did not have the best view (facing a deteriorating building), so that did not help. The lobby, common spaces, and restaurants were much better than our room. If it weren't for its location, Le Parker would have very little going for it. We probably will not stay there again.”

  • The only thing and this goes for most hotels in New York. The street noise.

“Agree with others that for a 4-star hotel and its nightly rate, expected a more luxurious room. The TV stand took up more room than necessary. Thermostat was confusing or not working but was not a problem. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and they give you a lot of towels. No info in room about dining choices at hotel other than room service. Burger Joint lived up to its standard as did Norma's for breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great location.”

“This was a great hotel for a long weekend in NYC. The location was perfect - an easy walk to just about everywhere we wanted to go. The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was beautiful (especially the lobby/atrium), and our room was very nicely decorated and comfortable. My only complaint was that we had a view of an ugly building next door, but there's nothing they can do about that! We liked the modern theme, and also enjoyed the sense of humor on the hotel's publications. The cartoons in the elevator were a nice touch. We had breakfast at Norma's once. It was excellent, but very expensive! (Watch out for the orange juice they offer you when you sit down - it costs $8.00/glass!). We had a drink at the hotel restaurant (Seppi's). We asked if there were any drinks, they made especially well, and they seemed to be confused by the question. We asked if they had a drink menu, and were told they didn't, but on the way out of the restaurant, we noticed a list of specialty drinks on the regular dinner menu. My husband ordered a mojito and it was terrible (and for him to say that, it must have been pretty bad!). We also tried the Burger place behind the curtain in the lobby. It was very good, and lived up to the hype! Make sure you order correctly, or you have to go to the back of the line! We would definitely stay at Le Parker Meridian again.”

“Overall, the hotel was nice and the location is great. But when I needed a quiet place to make a cell phone call after checking out, the staff sent me to the lounge of the fitness center which does not get cell phone signals. Even though I asked about a business center, they directed me to the fitness center. Later, I noticed that there is a business center. I don't get it.”

  • The concierges were very helpful, friendly, and efficient.
  • It took too long to get our safe fixed and the security people were rude.

“This hotel was very clean and orderly and had all the right accommodations except for a coffee pot. The rooms were nice and big and attractive. The location was wonderful, close to Central Park, Times Square, Madison Avenue, the Subway, and Carnegie Hall. We walked everywhere and the hotel was really easy to get around from. The concierge helped us with everything and did it quickly, were very friendly, and helpful! The famous hamburger restaurant in the hotel was an added plus as it was reasonable and very good. Note that there is a Starbucks across the street, I didn't notice that until we were leaving but the coffee in the hotel lobby is pretty good too and the staff were very fun and friendly.”

  • I was upgraded to a suite! Spacious, gracious, immaculate, luxurious, safe!
  • Checked out and left bags for later pickup. Retrieval took over 15 minutes, and guests were warned to expect that.

“I was delighted with the room, which was actually a suite: king bed with crisp linens in one room, 2 couches (one pullout bed) and an office area in a second room, with a gorgeous, contemporary bath. Two rooms separated by swiveling wall in which the TV was located, enabling viewing in either bedroom or living room. Large windows admitted plenty of light. Hotel very quiet. Staff very courteous and helpful. Access is from both 56th and 57th streets, but only one entrance remains open all night. I didn't realize that and when returning late had to go around the block to get to open entrance.”

  • Lobby chairs horribly worn, room view, TV cabinet needlessly crowded small room, and closet area isn't 4 stars at all-2 star.

Disappointed to find out after booking that they only have king size beds-this did not work well traveling with a child. They will bring you a roll away-for an addl chg - but it is very tight in what is small room to begin with.”

“The Grand Hyatt at Grand Central. Walked in three hours ahead of check-in time, room was ready. I had lost my credit cards prior to arrival. Everything was made very simple and easy by the clerk at the front desk. I was then brought up to my room. No fuss, no muss. Absolutely beautiful property, located right across from Cyprian!”

“Ok location, two blocks from central park. Close to subway. Room was just ok I expeded more from a 4 star hotel. The view from our 16th floor was very poor, it was the building next door. The only window in the room, only had a pull down screen. So you only had two choices, open so everybody in the building could see you, or closed and the room was dark.”

  • Very overpriced restaurant (Normas) No real lobby or bar to meet in.

“Good location and value for money at "special prices". Clean but no real lobby. Norma's had interesting breakfast choices but always a wait and closes at 2 PM. after that only choice is the Burger Joint which has good hamburgers and fries but nothing else. Norma's is eye wateringly expensive. Better choice for breakfast or lunch is Pain Quotdien around the corner on 6th Ave.”

  • Clean and safe with a great location. Great restaurants! Rooms with nice linens and good bathroom.
  • Don't forget your noise machine to drown out the honking outside.

“Great place to stay in NY!!! Not ultra luxurious but very nice! It has it all for me with a Sony flat screen; great linens and pillows. The bathroom was roomy and clean with good soft towels. Fresh paint drapes and carpet in very nice condition. Great restaurants and the location are perfect. I felt very safe being by myself.”

“We had a great stay at the Parker Meridien. It was very convenient for our evening at Carnegie Hall and very close to many family activities such as the Natural History Museum and Central Park.   • Carpet appears a bit worn. Could smell cigarette smoke on the 19th floor sometimes.

“Overall an excellent choice. Very friendly and helpful staff. Modern, attractive decor (except the carpet in some locations needs to be tended to). One complaint: We were on the 19th floor, and even though smoking was only allowed on the top floor, we could smell it sometimes (maybe 20% of the time). Opening the windows helped. But, I would definitely stay here again, and just ask to be moved if smoke is an issue.”

  • We like the lobby and easy access to either 56 or 57 St., the cartoons in the elevators and the NY Times in the morning.
  • No coffee maker in the rooms, beds could be better and there was maintenance on our floor (in our first room).

“Le Parker Meridian is a lovely and modern hotel located centrally to the City Center and Carnegie Hall. Columbus Circle & Lincoln Center are fun and interesting walks away. The people who work at the hotel are friendly and helpful while the people who stay there make for excellent people-watching. Two high points: there are cartoons in the elevators and dogs are allowed. However, no coffee maker in the rooms can make one grumpy!”

  • Tube TV, horrible closet, tiny bathroom.

“Don't let all the Central Park pictures fool you; there are maybe two floors of the hotel that actually can see the park, with the rest looking at construction. The room was minimally furnished, and somewhat cheesy. The tiny closet was a joke, with the safe taking up too much space on the floor, and a curtain for a door. The bathroom was so small it was tough to navigate with more than one person in it. The TV was a regular tube, though the screen itself was flat. Don't be fooled by the lobby and park views, this hotel's philosophy is about how much they can pull the wool over your eyes, but making the common areas look spectacular while the rooms are simply average.”

  • Enjoyed the mirrored rooms. The food at the restaurants was great, both the bistro and the place in the hotel where we had breakfast.
  • I thought parking was covered as part of the rate. The hotel should negotiate a free or reduced rate with a lot that is closeby.

  • From the location, the restaurants, the luggage assistance, and valet service, Everything was wonderful.
  • On a Saturday night it took way to long to get a cab outside of the hotel.

“I was very happy with this choice of hotel. We were going to see Wicked and the hotel was only a few blocks from the theatre. The staff was friendly and took an interest in our stay being perfect. It was nice to see that excellent service is not lost in a busy city like NYC.”

  • They did not own the restaurants, they were just nearby restaurants. They did not own the pool or fitness facility,

“The hotel was just ok. They did not own any restaurants. The three restaurants just happen to be in the same or adjacent buildings not affiliated with the hotel. There was no lobby; it was a public right of way. They did not own the fitness facility. To use the fitness facility or the pool you had to walk through common areas which were very embarrassing.”

“The location was perfect. Near Lincoln Center, museums, shopping, Broadway. Rooms were clean and nicely appointed. We had a nice view from our room which enhanced the stay. Staff was friendly and helpful.”
