• Very close to the subway station making it easy to get to.

“This hotel was amazing. The subway stop is just around the corner. There is a Starbucks just outside on the corner. Central park is only a short distance and Times Square only a few blocks away. Perfect!”

• Location.
• Broken fixtures, little to no air conditioning, bed too soft, no shampoo or conditioner.

“The people answering the phone at the hotel were awful, not informative and sounded comatose. Air Conditioning was non -existant in July in NY! Not good. Broken fixtures. One working light in the bathroom. TV had 20 of the 60 or so channels listed in the hotel guide. Not recommended.”

• Nice location.
• Rude staff. Dingy in appearance.

“The staff is very rude. Housekeeping is spotty at best. Strange things went missing from our room. Eye drops and makeup. Hallways not always vacuumed. Rooms are very small. But when you are in New York City you don't spend much time in your room! It was a very convenient location to the subway, Broadway, times square and central park. I would recommend this hotel for people traveling on a tight budget.”

• Very friendly staff, great location.
• We had to wait an hour for a room upon arrival, elevators didn't work well.

“The hotel had a very friendly and helpful staff. It was very crowded and we had to wait a while for our room. The lobby was alright, the room was clean and overall fine. Great location in NY. Very confusing elevators which were very slow in responding after you pressed the button to go down.”

• Location (right by yellow line)! & Carnigee hall, close to times square but not too much. Neat clean just what
  I expected.
• The luggage room costs $3.75 per bag which is usually free.

“Location! Great spot for exploring the city, as it's on a main subway line with easy connections. Better than being in times square if you ask me, closer to the park.”

• We really liked the location of the hotel. It was close to Central park and Times Square. Easy to hop on Greyline bus tours.
• They had these giant yellow curtains behind the front desk; it looked like it was under construction.

• Staff was very accommodating when possible.
• Bad management. Sheets on the bed hadn't been changed.

“I called the hotel around 8 pm to let them know I wouldn't arrive until 11 pm. After I arrived, they told me they were short of clean rooms, and asked if I could wait a half hour. Two hours later (1 am!), there were still 4 people in the queue ahead of me waiting for rooms. At this point, they offered to give me a room at another hotel uptown. I accepted, and they at least paid the taxi fare. The next day, I went back to the original hotel (since it was in a much more convenient location) and immediately got a room. When I went to bed that evening, I found that there was hair on the sheets of one of the beds, indicating that they hadn't actually changed the sheets.”

• Excellent location and the staff was extremely accomodating.
• The elevators were a bit slow.

“The staff was amazing. The valet took my car, no problem. I left my phone in the car and the car parking place helped me get it back right away. I arrived at 11 am and the check in staff found me a room immediately. It completely made my day. When I was checking out, I was in a rush and they got my car right away. Overall, great location, great service, and great price.”

“My overall impression of this hotel was dark and cold. Hotel service was just okay, a bit cold. There was a very thin comforter in bed but no blank anywhere. The overall cleanness was okay.”

• Location.
• In room phone was not working, in room safe was broken, no air conditioned. I was told to open window for cooling. Room was not made up until after noon.

“I was surprised that the staff at the front desk was not more accommodating. It seemed they did no have enough staff to assist guests.”

• Location.
• Filthy dirty.

“The beds were comfortable. The safe was broken, not usable. The bathroom was so dirty. The walls were dirty. I had to buy Lysol wipes to clean surfaces. The elevators were so so slow I used the stairs 1/2 of of the time.”

“Good for travelers going to shows in Manhattan because it is within walking distance to theaters and across from Carnegie Hall. Convenient for finding dining facilities for dinner or a coffee/snack .”

• The rooms were spacious and very comfortable.

“This hotel was an excellent location for us because we could walk about 10 minutes and be at the school. Also, the rooms were big enough for him to practice his violin in the room. The staff was very helpful to answer all my questions about getting around in NY City.”

• This hotel's location is perfect for tourist.
• The bed was not comfortable

“It was clean but not polished. The elevators are a little slow and I was on the tenth floor. I liked that you could valet your car for 24hrs for a $39.00 fee and Starbucks is located in the corner of the building. I would stay at this hotel again.”

• Location is great and hotel parking is good.
• Room was less than satisfactory in regard to cleanliness. Our handicap room was not convenient.

“As a driver it is convenient coming off the West side drive and again entering to go home. The location is very good. Walking distance to many activities. The rooms need updating and better cleaning. Check in and out and parking are good and efficient.”

• The location was amazing.
• The room was dirty, the heater was broken, the shower was broken and
  the toilet was broken.

“I would have been more comfortable and in a cleaner room had I stayed at a hostel. The location is incomparable and the room would have been fine had I been expecting economy student style accommodation. There was hair in the sink and the toilet had not been cleaned. There was a mysterious brown liquid on the wall by the bed and the lampshades were stained.”

• I really thought the location was great.
• Towels and sheets.

“Overall, this hotel was just okay. The location was good, and the staff was some what helpful. When I asked about changing the temperature in the room because my wife was cold and I was told, in the state of New York it’s against the law to adjust the thermostat. Also, the room had no hot water for a couple of hours and the front desk had been informed already. The kicker is that they also said that they would send someone up to check it out. Sending someone up is not going to change the fact that the hotel has no hot water. They sounded like they were just trying to get me off of the phone. The hotel is what it is, just a hotel with a good location but don't expect anything but a pillow and you won't be disappointed.”

• Location was great!
• It was 90 degrees outside and we had absolutely no air.

“Unfortunately, our stay in the hotel wasn't that pleasurable. The entire hotel had no air conditioning in the rooms and the outside temperature was 90 degrees! We were vacationing with our little baby who is 9 months old and she wasn't very happy either. The entire stay was hot and it still wasn't fixed when we left. They didn't have any fans to provide us either. The only compensation they provided would be a free upgrade the next visit, which isn't enough. We are hoping you can provide us some compensation for this as well.”

• The lobby and workout facility was very nice.
• The sheeting used for the bed was almost see though. I did not want to see the mattress.

• Everything, nothing negative at all. Location near central park, Subway downstairs, friendly helps.
• Nothing.

“I stayed here for the Trinidad vs. Jones fight in late January 08. The hotel clerk upgraded me to a hotel room on the 25th floor overlooking Times Square. It was the nicest hotel I have stayed at in NYC and I have been there 8 times. Fully remodeled and very nice views even from laying on the bed. Very clean, not 1 problem, very professional looking atmosphere, lounge and hotel desk area.”

• Management proved unavailable. Noisy, small room.

“The best thing I could say about Park Central is it was a good location for our purpose on this trip to NY. It also has a decent fitness room. But our room was small and noisy. On the other side of one wall was a bank of elevators and out the window below was equipment making the sound of a generator, not to mention traffic on 7th Avenue, though I specifically asked not to have a room facing that street. The drapes didn't close unless I used a safety pin to keep neon lights out. When I asked to speak with general manager or customer service, I waited and waited and no one ever appeared. The manager also didn't return my phone calls once I was backing home.”

• They did switch me to a less moldy room, not mold free though.
• MOLD, MOLD, and more MOLD.

“Switched rooms three times due to MOLD on ceilings. The third time the room was ok, but after going into the bathroom there is mold on the walls!!! It's all along the ceiling as well. My eyes and lungs actually hurt. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.”

“Overall the only thing good was the hotel's central location to everything we like to do in the city. The staff was not overly friendly, on more than one occasion the concierge and the operator staff were exceptionally unpleasant.”

• Efficient, good location.
• No coordination between door man and valet parking.

“Very good. We will return. there could be some communication between the doorman who you leave your car keys with and the car jockey who returns the vehicle. One is kept guessing, for $39 plus tip, I'm willing to pay for the service however it's minimal.”

• Central location, beautiful lobby, comfortable room with internet access (for an extra fee) and accommodating and professional staff.
• Due to late check in, no room with king bed available (2 doubles). Hotel corrected room type the next day.

“We were pleased with our stay at the Park Central NY Hotel. Location is so much in NYC, and this hotel is conveniently located: catty cornered to Carnegie Hall (and, of course, down the street from the Carnegie and Stage Delis) and easy walking access to Broadway theatres, Central Park, Fifth and Madison Avenue shopping, MOMA and the new Lincoln Center theatres in the mall at Columbus Circle. For that rainy NYC day, there are many fine restaurants directly across the street. Also, they are next to a subway stop. They have recently renovated their lobby (including beautiful checkerboard marble floors and a fine bar) and are currently updating and beautifying their 7th Avenue facade. Rooms are clean and comfortable including appropriate air conditioning. There was nothing extraordinary about the rooms we stayed in. All rooms are wired for internet, and internet is available for a fee (approximately $10/day). The staff was friendly and accommodated a room switch (we arrived late on Columbus day weekend, a busy weekend for NYC, and the only room type available was the two double bed type, the next day they changed the room to a single king type, with a very fine view). No problems with checkout.”

• Bell captains were great. Wonderful location.
• Desk staff, did not like the 4 pm check in time.

“When we arrived at the hotel there was a big ball of black hair on the floor of our room. House keeping needs to improve. The room was very cold, when I called the front desk they said someone would be right up. No one showed up, an hour I called again and was told they would send up a portable heater, no one showed up. about an hour later I called them again and was told it was against NYC law to turn on the heat until it was 40 degrees. They said they would send up extra blankets. An hour later extra blankets arrived.”

• Location is only redeeming value.
• Treated customers like cattle. Room had mold on a portion of the ceiling. Inferior cleanliness.

“I would not stay here again. The customer service was non existent, they treated the guests like cattle. The room was below par; cleanliness below par. Shower dribbled and drain backed up. Toilet ran forever. The restaurant was also below par in quality and service and atmosphere. The only thing it had going for it was location.”

• Rooms were a better size than recent stays in boutique hotels (the Hudson, The Paramount), better value than the Marriott and the Sheraton.
• Decor was a bit blah, lobby not as interesting or inviting as others.

• Virtually nothing, in addition to problem listed below, it lacked amenities of one star hotels, coffee maker, mini refrigerator, etc.
• Managers rude, refused to help us when there was drilling of street outside our window in the middle of the night. Broken AC, Broken shower.

“This was the worst hotel experience we ever had. Drilling of pavement outside our window in the middle of the night and early in the morning made sleep impossible. Hotel refused to help because they said they were not "legally liable" for external noise. They kept booking new guests into rooms on this side of hotel knowing the problem. There were also a number of small inconveniences, broken shower drains, dirty towels, inaccessible AC controls, housekeeping not coming for hours after called, etc. Basically, something is very wrong with the management here. ”

“I read some horrible reviews of this hotel before my trip, I was expecting the worst. Calling ahead, the hotel staff seemed like it was going to live up to expectations. They were rude and short. However, after arrival, things got better. Lobby is nice, staff was pleasant and room was much better than expected. However, there was one other problem, sheets were dirty.”

“The Park Central hotel has a fabulous location just blocks from Time Square, Central Park and the Carnegie Deli. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious for a Manhattan hotel. The beds and pillows need to be upgraded as well as the quality of the bathroom towels. Some work has been done to upgrade the property such as newer bathroom fixtures. The furniture, walls, carpets in the hallways and rooms are too well worn and significantly distract from the potential of this hotel. The TV in the rooms are huge. Of course, the view from the interior rooms is a dark shaft, but that's NYC.”

• The location was excellent. Close to Central Park, to subway, Columbus Circle, Times Square.
• Room condition was bad, bulbs burnt out in lamps, leaking air-conditioner and as a result wet carpet, stingy with towels.

“The location of this hotel was excellent. It is close to the subway stops, Columbus Circle, Central Park, Times Square and others. The hotel service and condition of rooms was not up to par. The hotel also has a $3.00 charge per bag if stored after checkout for a couple of hours. Avoid a smoking room because smoke smell is terrible throughout the entire floor.”

• It was right across from Carnegie hall.
• It was dirty, smelly, impersonal and unfriendly.

“I would never go back. It was old and badly in need of repair. The whole hotel smelled like old socks and tobacco. The staff with whom we had contact were peremptory and indifferent. Next time I'll sleep in the train station. ”

• The location and decor were wonderful.
• Using the phone to get help from the front desk. It didn't work half the time.

“I would definatly stay at the Park Central again. The location was perfect for what we needed and the decor added to the ambience. We loved the art deco lobby. The only problem we had (more than once) was with our in-room phone and recieving help from the front desk. Rooms were clean yet on the small side. We didn't mind the small because it had everything we needed. There are deli's just out the door which was convenient for my daughter grandson and I. In the mornings we loaded up the stroller and headed out to Central Park and Time's Square. The Park Central was the perfect place to stay on our first (of many) trips to New York.”
