“I upgraded to a suite because I had children with me. There were 2 large rooms and the bed was bed was very comfortable. Very friendly staff and very quick service. The continental breakfast which is complimentary can has room for improvement.” Oct 1, 2009 by
Michele from Norman,OK
“Overall, it was a good experience. The staff was extremely helpful and took the extra time to make sure you were happy. My only complaint is the size of the room. I know it's New York and space is at a premium, but my bathroom at home is bigger than the entire room/bathroom at the hotel.” Sep 16, 2009 by
from San Mateo,CA
“Was booked 100%, couldn't check me in before 3 pm. Doesn't qualify as a 4 star hotel, very run-down and old, too small and doesn't have the amenities of a typical 4 star hotel.” Jun 20, 2009 by
Jenny from Boca Raton,FL
“The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a 1 bedroom suite which was very large. The only downside was the small and non functional bathroom.” May 29, 2009 by
Elaine from Logan,UT
“Very well done hotel. Great decor. Rooms bathrooms are on the small side. Very nice overall.” May 26, 2009 by
Brian from Somerville,NJ
“The living room area was an excellent addition to the hotel but the rooms were small and seemed a little cramped with a poor view.” May 21, 2009 by
Frank from Newtown,CT
“This hotel is an example of excellent value without compromise.” May 14, 2009 by

Lori from Toronto,Canada
“Newly renovated, modern design - sleek and clean - very friendly and helpful staff - nice continental breakfast included - cool ceiling in lobby!” Mar 12, 2009 by
Carrie from Mississauga,Canada
“The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was very modern and had everything we needed. The best continental breakfast I have ever had! It was a nice perk.” Mar 8, 2009 by
Daron from Charleston,SC
“It's nice and quaint but everything is very small and cramped. This hotel would work ok for the single traveler.” Feb 12, 2009 by
from New York,NY
“Loved it. Gorgeous. The staff was amazing. While checking in we had mentioned briefly during check-in that it was my boyfriend's birthday. Not sure how they did it, but by the time it got to dessert, there were candles and a big happy birthday written across the whole thing. My boyfriend loved it! They're the best!” Jan 23, 2009 by
Kathy from Hanahan,SC
“The room was clean and well furnished, but the staff made our stay worth while.” Dec 18, 2008 by
Walter from New York,NY
“An old hotel refurbished in boutique fashion, the Morgans is a pleasure: stylish, comfortable, superbly located, and with excellent service: I look forward to returning!” Dec 3, 2008 by
Cathy from Harwich,MA
“Classy, unique, sophisticated, friendly, the entire staff smiled and acknowledged us each time we passed by. You have no idea how far that goes in making it a great place to stay. We'd definitely come back.” Nov 27, 2008 by
Nikki from Peckville,PA
“The rooms are small but attractive. The staff is overly friendly and helpful. Best of all the rooms are clean and the hotel is located within walking distance to everything. Breakfast is included every morning and it is a great set up with fresh fruit, pastries, bagels, cereal etc. What I did not like about the hotel is that it charges for wireless internet access so even to access it on your phone charges will be applied to your room.” Oct 14, 2008 by

“Outdated.” Sep 30, 2008 by
Craig
“Modern, young, clean, freindly, with hip night club attached. Good for young single. Missing pool, work-out room, jacuzzi. Bathroom too small - door should have been a pocket door.” May 22, 2008 by
Carl from New York, NY
“This hotel is an intimate boutique hotel in a good location. It is clear that design and quality are important here.” May 21, 2008 by
L from Rumson, NJ
“Decent location, great staff, closed this summer for renovation. Will look forward to it reopening. As is it's nice but not worthy of 4 star, more like a 3 star. When the renovation is over maybe it will earn it's stars.” May 14, 2008 by
Nicki from Woodland, CA
“We were very pleased with the overall service!” Apr 23, 2008 by
Nathan from Cambridge, MA
“First, every member of the Morgan's staff we met was very friendly. Otherwise, we were disappointed with the hotel. The rooms were small, but the furniture was worn and the walls needed paint. The bath tub intermittently clogged then drained when showering. The elevator is really slow and just needs updating. And the room service food seemed outrageously expensive compared to other really nice restaurants where we dined over the weekend. Overall, I would not rate Morgan's a 4 star Deluxe hotel, and until it receives some much needed renovations, I would not recommend it to others.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Allan from Toronto, ON CA
“Pros: Nicely appointed bedroom (we stayed in just the basic room with a queen bed), very clean, extremely friendly and helpful staff, "living room" common area with internet, very cool hotel bar Cons: No major complaints, but the bathroom was quite tight.” Apr 8, 2008 by
Rock from Philadelphia, PA
“Decent place to stay for a night. Would not want to stay here for an extended period of time. Nice bathrooms and comfortable bed.” Apr 7, 2008 by
Dan from Pittsburgh, PA
“Well, it was great for Manhattan. Although, my room was very small and in the middle of the building, the hotel was not trying to encourage a return stay with the room I was assigned. The staff was very competent and friendly. The lounge was nice. The breakfast was nice. Based on the size of the room, and staff to guest ratio, I would reduce to 3 stars.” Apr 5, 2008 by
Jessica from Santa Cruz, CA
“This was a good bargain for Midtown Manhattan. I felt irritated that there was only one bed -- we had to pay extra for an "upgrade" in order to truly have double occupancy. The elevator was broken. Check-in was a nightmare.” Apr 4, 2008 by
Christine from Boerne, TX
“The staff was nice and the continental breakfast was very convenient and delicious. Bathrooms are my number one priority and it definitely did not meet my expectations of a 4 star hotel's.” Apr 2, 2008 by
Matt from Ames, IA
“Really nice, great staff and little bar area with the restaurant made everything very convenient.” Mar 29, 2008 by
Jean from Providence, RI
“Loved this hotel. The staff treated me like royalty, but you'd expect that in an upscale hotel. Everything is luxurious. There's a living room on the fourth floor to hang out in besides your own room, which is a nice change.” Mar 21, 2008 by
Tom from Philadelphia, PA
“Great location, free breakfast. Small rooms, and very loud so you have to get up early.” Mar 3, 2008 by
Melanie from Oro Valley, AZ
“I was concerned when I first confirmed the hotel but after my arrival I felt the renovation was done very well and the staff was very coordinated with their customer service and attention to detail.” Mar 3, 2008 by
Laura from Tampa, FL
“Great place to stay away from the city noise; very convenient to Madison Square Garden and Penn Station.” Feb 24, 2008 by
Greg from Waco, TX
“Morgans was a delightful experience. The staff was so helpful and the continental breakfasts at Asia de Cuba were an unexpected bonus. Our room had a charming view of Madison Avenue. The five days there were quite relaxing.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Marcia from Lenexa, KS
“I am severely allergic to feathers and told the hotel staff the first night they had to come change the day bed (we upgraded to a suite) because it had a feather pillow & comforter. The housekeeper brought up the bedding 30 minutes later and changed it out - with a foam pillow and another feather comforter! I told the man that I was allergic and told him I needed another type of comforter. He went back downstairs, came up 15 minutes later with the same blanket they use as a throw on the furniture in the lobby! The next day they put another feather comforter and pillow on the day bed, which we told the housekeeping supervisor, and he had it changed out right away. The next day, they put another feather pillow on top of the foam one. I was tired and didn't realize and lay down and woke up scratching my ear that on the pillow - it was swollen and itchy because I was having an allergic reaction. I went - in my pajamas - downstairs to tell the front desk, and the attendant seemed totally nonchalant about the situation and without any sense of urgency told me someone would be up to fix it. 20 minutes later someone came up to change it - and in the process, started to put the feather pillow on top of the new foam pillow. I had to stop him twice and explain to him that I cannot touch anything that's touched feathers. I was offered no consolation from any of the staff at the hotel. This is not what I would expect from a four-star establishment. I was extremely disappointed.” Feb 19, 2008 by
Diane from Gate City, VA
“Super people, and service.” Jan 31, 2008 by
Steve from Gt Barrington, MA
“Overall we enjoyed our stay and the hotel was more than adequate. The staff were very friendly and responsive. I read many reviews and had concerns about the hotel. My fears were mostly quelled by our experience. For example, we were concerned about comments claiming there was no hot water. We were on the ninth floor. We did need to call the front desk about it, and we did indeed have to run the water for almost four minutes for it to turn hot, but when it did it was as hot as anyone could ask for or tolerate. I do not, however, like the thought of wasting so much water in this manner. As far as the hotel rating is concerned, I think it is more than fair to say that this hotel is "upscale", which you classify as 3-star, and not "Deluxe", or 4-star. A deluxe hotel delivers a morning paper to your door. It provides bath robes for your use. It provides extra pillows in a closet. It has hot water on demand. It has sound-insulated windows for rooms located directly above the street. We have stayed at other 4-star hotels in the same location- within 2-3 blocks and they have delivered a "Deluxe" experience. This did not quite compare.” Jan 24, 2008 by
Ken from Glen Allen, VA
“Nice hotel with a great location. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was part of the deal and I loved the time savings and food.” Jan 23, 2008 by
Larry from Ottawa, ON CA
“Great location. Helpful staff. Rooms rather small but all things considered good value overall for the cost.” Jan 10, 2008 by
Carrie from Winston Salem, NC
“Clean with friendly staff. Restaurant staff was very unfriendly and rude. Breakfast staff just the opposite.” Jan 9, 2008 by
Richard from Kingston, NY
“Very nice hotel and room. Had a pleasant weekend here. Only a short walk to anywhere.” Dec 26, 2007 by
Kc from New Paltz, NY
“The style of the hotel was chic, understated and with some European feeling. The forth floor living area was very cozy and inviting, and we enjoyed having it as a "go to" area with teeny girls. Overall, the location and the staff made the stay really nice, though not our first pick again if we stay with children.” Dec 26, 2007 by
Noel from Selinsgroev, PA
“A very quaint hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this hotel if traveling to NYC.” Dec 19, 2007 by
Barbara from Bethesda, MD
“The rooms are stark and unwelcoming to start with and their age doesn't make it any better. There were crumbling walls in the closet. You have to stand in the closet to see the full length mirror. The steel sink in the bathroom reminds me of the sinks in prison cells. Frankly, I did not want to spend any time in the room. The hallways were dark. The breakfast buffet was so so. The restaurant smelled of urine. As you may guess, I did not think the hotel was anywhere near what I would expect for a 4 star hotel. The only bright spot was the very friendly and helpful staff. They were top notch.” Dec 15, 2007 by
David from Norfolk, VA
“Nice boutique style hotel. Staff was incredible. Rooms are small but adequate. Shower is excellent. A bit overpriced even for NYC.” Dec 13, 2007 by
Susie from Hockessin, DE
“The hotel was great. So when we got there and they informed us that we could only sleep two of our party we were in a position of either having to leave, get another room for regular price or upgrade. Not what we expected at all. We are very disappointed in your service! Will not come back to use you again.” Dec 10, 2007 by
Jeremy from Baltimore, MD
“Hotel's location was good. The front desk staff was super friendly. The front lounge was basically non existent, and the carpets were dirty. The room for the price was very small and had almost no amenities. The desk was flimsy. There was a 'lounge' at the end of the hall which was nice, but it closed at 9 pm and was locked so that it was inaccessible. I'm not sure when hotel customers could use it, since most people spend their evenings in the hotel.” Nov 28, 2007 by
James from Washington, DC
“I had a positive experience in the past when I stayed at the Royalton, which is owned by the same parent company which owns the Morgan. The prices I paid for the rooms were comparable but the quality was not. The bathroom was tiny as was the room. The bed, hard and we had to listen to our "vigorous" neighbors throughout our stay. The hotel's only saving grace was the unfailingly attentive staff and its prime location. Overall however, I would not recommend this hotel to leisure travelers.” Nov 25, 2007 by
Blair from Ft. Worth, TX
“The Morgan is in a fairly good location and the service is good. However, it is probably a bit over-rated in terms of quality.” Nov 24, 2007 by
Marcia from Longmont, CO
“The hotel does not appear to be a hotel there's no name or even address on the building. The rooms are small too small to allow the roll away bed that I was told to ask for at the desk when I called to say I needed two beds. The rooms are acceptable except for the bathroom but by no means a four-star hotel.”
