“This hotel would not be my first choice if I were to go back to New York. The room was too small and the bathroom was too cramped. No vanity space for sundries.”

• The location is good for area attractions.
• The front desk was unresponsive.

“This was our first visit to the city. This is also the first time I have ever written a review. We were disappointed with the room for numerous reasons. Upon our arrival 5:15pm the room wasn't ready we arrived at the room the maid was still cleaning and getting the room ready, we left our bags and had to come back later. The temperature control unit heating/cooling only blew ambient air, to adjust the temp in the room I had to open a window. This wasn't the best option as this room looked out over a lower roof which supported numerous air conditioning units for the hotel, these were loud and ran constantly. The bedside lamp on the left didn't work, so if you wanted to read before bed this wasn't an option. The room was somewhat dated, carpets worn, peeling paint in the bathroom, the door had numerous areas were it was dented or scratched and they just painted over it, okay nit-picky but its what I saw. The first morning I reported these issues to the front desk, she took notes and that evening when we returned, nothing had been addressed. I am not a person who typically makes a big deal about things, these weren't life altering. Maybe I should have searched out the front desk manager to get these issues addressed, this is a very expensive hotel to stay at and everything should have been in order. Would I stay here again, not likely.”

• Location.
• Hot room, no AC. Breakfast way too expensive. Small room.

“I was very disappointed in the room. Way too small. Very hot, no air conditioning and no way of relieving heat. My daughter and I were charged 68.00 for breakfast. This is horrible for coffee, juice, and a buffet.”

“The Sheraton towers is a very large hotel in a great location in Mid-Town Manhattan. The rooms are large for NYC hotels and are adequately outfitted. Bathrooms are small. Because of the size of the hotel, the staff is busy full-time dealing with so many people. There is no free wireless in the room, but the lobby has free wireless and a large number of computers for guests to use - this is a big plus in today's electronic age.”

• The hotel was clean.
• Couldn't adjust the room temperature to a comfort level.

“The biggest negative I have over this hotel is the lack of being able to adjust the room temperature to a comfortable level. Even though they had a wall unit with cooling and heating installed, you couldn't get it to cool the room when it was warm outside. I believe it has something to do with the age of this hotel and the way the heating and cooling devices work. They would greatly improve this by updating their systems.”

• The location was extremely convenient for everything we planned to do.
• We had to wait several hours to check-in because they did not have our rooms ready.

• Location was
  excellent. Clean and
  comfortable.
• Parking setup was pretty bad, doorman was not very helpful in terms of parking, and concierge too was not very helpful.

“Great location, clean, safe, rooms, good size for a family of four, and front desk helpful. If you are driving the parking arrangements are not very well orchestrated. You’re better to select a nearby lot (all the same parking company) and do it yourself. Other than that loved it.”

“at check in we were greeted by a friendly woman and went to our room, however when we sat on the bed, we noticed the ceiling was leaking above it, and on the pillows. so i called down to notify the desk and was treated rather rudely by the man who answered. he told me we would be moved to another room and we would have to come get our key. so we moved all of our stuff went all the way back down and had to wait in line again only to be met by a very rude woman at the desk who gave us our new room key and never so much as apologised for the inconvieince. the pillows were goose down, and so when sleeping on them, your head sinks in and they are very uncomfortable.. so i requested some firm pillows, i had to call the desk 3 different times, 3 hours apart each time until finally recieving them at 10 pm! the bathroom floor had hari all over it, and splatters of something on the walls. very far from a four star hotel.. three at best..”

• location is great
• a/c did not work, had to change rooms. bathroom had hair on the tub and basin.

“This is a decent hotel, but not a 4 star hotel. Accomodations would have been fine if a/c worked and room had been properly cleaned. But the hotel is in desparate need up an upgrade in numerous rooms to bring it up to 4 star quality.”

• It was centrally located between Times Square and Central Park. Staff very responsive.
• Air conditioning in our room did not work very well at all. Room too small for family of four.

“The staff was very good and very helpful. The location was fantastic for our trip as it was located between Times Square and Central Park where most of our destinations were located. However, the room was small for a family of four. And, the air conditioning, though working, did not adequately cool the room. The Staff tried to correct but to no avail.”

• the location was very central and the room was clean.
• the room could have been a little bit bigger. The space between the dresser and bed was very crowded. The concierge was not always pleasant.

“High rise hotel with convenient location to Central Park, Times Square, Subway system, and Broadway. The only negative was the lack of wireless internet signal in the rooms, although the lobby had access points. Bed was very comfortable and noise of city below was barely audible. Overall great cost/benefit value.”

• Cleanliness of bathroom - door didn't close.

“The hotel staff was very accommodating upon our arrival. We got there early morning so they stored our bags until the room was ready. Room was on the smaller side and the bathroom was OK. The bathroom door didn't close, like it had swollen up and couldn't fit. Location is amazing to midtown activities - Broadway, dining, central park, 5th Ave shopping. We would stay there again.”

• Extra charges for everything imaginable. Rooms were nasty. Had to buy Lysol to spray in bathroom each time I used it because it smelled badly.

“Hotel rooms were awful. Bathroom smelled badly. Had to spray disinfectant each time I went in. They added extra charges for everything like $10 to use the fitness center each day and $15 for in room internet. They gave us a generous food and beverage credit as compensation for 2 big mistakes they made, but the restaurant was slow and mediocre.”

• Washroom shower wasn't as clean as I'd expected; $7 for water in the mini bar was a crime.

• Awesome location for visitors to Manhattan!

“In contrast to some of the negative reviews I read about this hotel before our stay, we thought it was great. For the price (we got it for per night, plus tax), in midtown, the rooms are actually pretty large. My only complaint would be the heating/cooling system. It took awhile to figure it out and the room was stuffy and hot until we discovered that when you turned the fan speed to the Off position, it finally came on. Then, everything was fine. Kind of tight quarters for a family of four, but much better than other midtown hotels. Comfortable and clean. My husband flies for the airlines and said this hotel really beats the ones where the pilots usually end up staying in the city, both for location and quality.”

• Very much a tour group hotel, so it was very busy and crowded in public spaces.

“Great location, room was moderate in size and functional, small bathroom. Usually like to stay in smaller hotels and this one, given Midtown location so close to Time Square, was mobbed with tour groups. However, got a great price on Priceline and was very satisfied overall.”

“I need a 4 star hotel to have a great bed, sheets, comforter and an upscale bathroom. That was the whole point to me. This bed was not good, we only got a queen with our purchase they said the kings were gone and the bathroom was alright. Products were by Bliss, but not impressive enough for me to take them home like I usually do. Didn't feel pampered enough.”
