“This boutique hotel is ideally located in midtown and has a very cool atmosphere thanks to the very popular bar that is frequented by locals and visitors alike. The rooms are clean and elegantly furnished buy they are extremely small even by NYC standards (I could barely fit in the shower). But overall a good experience.” Dec 11, 2009 by
Carol from Columbia,MD
“Younger people would like the edgy quality of this hotel, but people needed comfort features would find it lacking. The small size of the bathroom, the low-to-the-floor bed, and the dimness in the room and the hotel, in general, all made it hard on this 60-something traveler. On the positive side, the hotel staff was all knowledgeable and friendly, seemed happy that I was their guest, and did not expect a tip for every bit of advice or service. I found myself being more financially responsive to them, as a result. Good training equals good service equals a good tip, in my traveling experience. My 40-year-old son and 29-year-old daughter were very impressed that I was staying at the Hudson, so it may have been worth any inconvenience just for the bragging rights!” Dec 10, 2009 by
Andrea from Cambridge,MA
“The rooms are incredibly small. If you are a tall person, this may not be the hotel for you.” Dec 7, 2009 by
Brian from Newton,MA
“A very cool vibe permeated this hotel. Although most areas of the lobby / elevator were dark it added to the positive atmosphere. Rooms were small (as would be expected in NYC) but clean and efficient, especially for business travel. Staff was very friendly and helpful.” Nov 18, 2009 by
Kevin and Angela from Berkley,MA
“Would definitely stay there again, convenient location, decent price, friendly staff, very clean room.” Nov 18, 2009 by
Liz from Marlton,NJ
“This maybe the tenth time I have stayed with a Morgan's Hotel and the worst. All the staff was horribly rude. The restaurant was closed, and not just for the night, the bartender was rude and yelled at us when we wanted a drink. He told us to go somewhere else because he was busy. The bed was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever slept on. The noise from the street was unbearable, and as a result I didn't sleep the entire night. When we said something the next morning the manager just shrugged it off and walked away. I will never stay at a Morgan's Hotel again.” Nov 17, 2009 by
Carol from Wilbraham,MA
“Great experience. Loved the location, the staff and the overall hotel amenities. Hotel is clean and new and hip. Staff are courteous and incredibly friendly and helpful. Room size is a negative, especially the bathroom. Bedding, sheets, pillows and comforters were excellent. I would definitely recommend the hotel and will stay there again.” Oct 28, 2009 by
Eyad from West Henrietta,NY
“First glimpse, you think it’s a fancy hotel, but wait till you get to your room. A queen bed with only 2 feet around. That's it. Barely any space to move or even walk through the room. Even the toilet is so small, cannot fit the average adult person. I think if I was taller than 6 feet, or heavier then 250 lbs, I literally would not fit to set on the toilet. The room windows were neither weather, nor noise proof. You can feel the cold breeze come down on the bed, and hear all the emergency vehicles outside, exactly if you were lying sleep on the side of the street. The thermostat was available in the room, but obviously was giving heat only, so when it was on, the room was boiling, and we were caught between the boiling room, and very cold October breeze from the leaky windows to the outside. We had our neighbor in the next room complain of the same issues, the next morning.” Oct 21, 2009 by
Cerra from Herndon,VA
“Great location, unusual lobby - dark, but lovely, very small rooms, but well-appointed - IPod charger is nice, shower/tub very small & narrow. Nice (but expensive) bar.” Oct 14, 2009 by
Janet from Ct,CT
“Very cool hotel in an excellent location with amazing lobby, courtyard, library bar, restaurant and roof bar.....very small room that looks like a cruise ship room. Excellent service.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 13, 2009 by

“If you traveling alone, and your 20 to 30 year old...you will love this place! If you are traveling with someone...you will be very cramped.” Oct 13, 2009 by
Jenn from Cranston,RI
“The staff was exemplary, polite, efficient and friendly. Any items we had questions on were answered very satisfactorily and promptly. Directions were well-described, easy to follow and everyone we asked was ready with them. My only problem with this hotel was the shoddy towels and beds. If you're going to market yourself as a boutique hotel you need to cover all aspects. The Hudson seemed to spare no expense wowing guests with it's public spaces, they are all fantastic. But as soon as you get off the elevator on a rooms floor you find yourself in a dimly lit hallway with horrible yellow lights illuminating every room's number. It felt like one of those horror flicks where the guests check in and never check out. The room itself was very nice to look at, trim on the amenities but that was expected. The quality of the towels was that of a lesser-starred hotel feeling rough and thin. The bed felt like a pull-out couch apparatus, attached to the wall, concealed by a hip headboard and wooden panels on the sides. The mattress was very thin and both myself & my husband woke up sore and stiff both mornings we were there. I would consider staying there again. I understand you don't get much in NYC as far as space goes, but that's no reason to chintz on quality of room basics for that much money. And I didn't even pay full price, thanks to Priceline. I would have been very disgruntled had I paid the full rate.” Oct 13, 2009 by
Sharon from Novato,CA
“The hotel is in a great location right near Columbus Circle. The lobby and lounges are very hip and elegantly decorated. The room is a joke. Felt like I was on a train. Two people couldn't move at the same time. I've been on cruise ships that have larger bathrooms! The quality of the room is not consistent with a 3.5 star.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 1, 2009 by

“We were extremely disappointed when we got into this hotel. The check in staff was very not friendly. They tried to charge more money, which is not professional. I will not recommend this hotel to anybody. This hotel definitely does not meet the 3.5 star expectations. The most I would give this hotel would be 1 star, as the rooms are like motel rooms.” Oct 1, 2009 by
Mary from Southborough,MA
“Great hotel but the rooms are really much too small. Much much too small. Literally, I almost hit my head on the Sep 30, 2009 by

“Great location walking distance to theater district, room is very small but functional.” Sep 22, 2009 by
Marije from Manasquan,NJ
“The rooms of the hotel are very cool in design, although they are really (I mean really!) small. The location of the hotel is great however and the food at the restaurant and from room service is excellent. The rooftop bar is a real treasure.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 12, 2009 by

“Good NYC hotel for tourists who don't expect to spend much time in their room. Hudson is trying to be a modern, funky place - but beyond the front entrance and lobby is just a basic hotel in a great location.” Sep 2, 2009 by
Susan from Hyattsville,MD
“The staff was very helpful. The hotel was very clean and well decorated. The hotel rooms were small, but the space was very efficiently used so it was not a problem. Everything was very modern. I did not eat at the hotel, however, the drinks were rather expensive.” Aug 31, 2009 by
Laia from Barcelona,El Salvador
“It's a very fashion and modern hotel and it has a very nice terrace to take the breakfast. The personal are very kind and helpful, but the rooms are really small.” Aug 28, 2009 by
Louis from Airmont,NY
“The hotel is in a nice location and the common areas are very nice. It's a hip and trendy location. On the down side, the room was ridiculously small for a 4 star hotel. There was only room for the bed in the sleeping area, no dresser at all. The bathroom was so small that my knees hit the wall when I was on the toilet. In fact, I had to spread my knees apart to fit and I'm only 5' 11". Luckily we only stayed one night.” Aug 28, 2009 by
Natasha from Fort Wayne,IN
“The Hudson hotel is great and loved the comfortable beds. Rooms are always very clean and the floors are always waxed. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all of my friends and family.” Aug 26, 2009 by
Tammy from Ludington,MI
“Great hotel if you like loud noise (music) and scantly dressed barmaids. I'm guessing the younger crowd loves it.” Aug 26, 2009 by
Mike from Hinckley,OH
“Hotel is modern and has a upscale, pricey bar to match. The rooms are ridiculously small and make you feel more like on a bad cruise than in a supposedly 3 star hotel. This hotel ranks with budget hotels. The public hallways are dimly lit, dingy looking.” Aug 21, 2009 by
Yoonheui from Amherst,MA
“Great hotel.” Aug 21, 2009 by
Kathy from Bonsall,CA
“Rooms were absurdly small. They were smaller then cabins on a ship. The bed was uncomfortable and low. The beds actually caused soreness the next day. Hotel halls were dark and unfriendly. Bathroom was so small, that there was approx. only 6 inches in front of the toilet. Staff and security was friendly and helpful.” Aug 15, 2009 by
Scott from Big Indian,NY
“Staff was pleasant and friendly, and the lounge was nice, but I would never stay there again. Rooms inadequate, much too small and uncomfortable. Not extremely clean. Very unpleasant stay, overall. Also, interestingly, there is no sign outside the hotel to indicate it is there.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 14, 2009 by
Kay from Van Nuys,CA
“The rooms are way too small even by NYC standards. Its a joke. And my room was dirty. The chair was filthy with fingerprints and the bathroom was not fully clean.” Aug 11, 2009 by
Tina from Austin,TX
“The location was excellent. My daughter and I were able to walk to Broadway, Central Park, Lincoln Center, and a variety of other points of interest with no difficulty. However, the small, poorly lit hallways, the cramped room and minuscule bathroom were a real negative. I cannot imagine bringing my whole family to this hotel. Since my teenage daughter and I spent so little time at the hotel, we found the accommodations acceptable.” Aug 9, 2009 by
Marco from Bologna,Italy
“Great hotel for local party and fashion meeting. Nice people every evening. But for leisure, for traveling it is not good as expected. Rooms are really small. Hard to move inside the small beds. The bathroom is really a square meter. Even if its is very interior design supply. Very nice, very fashion, but really small!” Aug 4, 2009 by
Dave from Mansfield,TX
“The hotel is amazing. The rooms are very small but this is something that cannot be changed. It is made up with its location and fun, trendy vibe.” Aug 3, 2009 by
Sandip from Exton,PA
“We arrived close to 11.30 pm and there were 4 people waiting to check in and 2 staff members - it took us close to a half hour to get our keys and check in.” Jul 31, 2009 by
Gaby from Winthrop,MA
“It is the second time I stay here. I like the location, relative cleanliness and good service. I don't appreciate the loud music playing after 5pm until 11:30 pm, way too loud. Bar is quite expensive and kitschy, but interesting.” Jul 28, 2009 by
Megan from Washington,DC
“This hotel has amazing public areas but terrible rooms. My room had one small light that worked and a deadbolt that had been broken in half by a prior customer - I had to wait several hours for staff to replace the dead light bulbs in the other 2 lamps and the deadbolt and only received service after explaining that I could not stay up all night waiting since I had to leave for the hospital at 5:30 am the next day for my mother's cancer surgery.” Jul 28, 2009 by
Reina from Jacksonville,FL
“Over all the location made up some for the very small size room. The other comments listed regarding the size of room were on point. Yet if your looking for a great location and do not plan to spend any time in the hotel this hotel will work great.” Jul 26, 2009 by
christy from Roslindale,MA
“This hotel is perfect for the 20-30 something market. The bar onsite seems to be quite popular. We arrived and had to walk by a line of people waiting in the street and bouncers wearing ear pieces (very CIA). The entrance and welcome was a bit off-putting, but once a staff member attended to us, he was very friendly. The room felt like what I imagine a cruise ship room to be like. The most unexpected part was that the shower wall was a window looking onto the bed (and visa versa)!” Jul 26, 2009 by
Neal from Monsey,NY
“Great location, but small room/bathroom and not designed with the business traveler in mind. Very friendly hotel staff.” Jul 22, 2009 by
Terri from Gladwyne,PA
“The hotel had a cool trendy atmosphere. Be prepared for very small rooms (yes small compared to NYC or European standards). However, the room was very functional - just tiny.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 22, 2009 by
Meg from St. Louis,MO
“The Hudson manages to be both trendy and welcoming. The dining in the hotel is fantastic - not to be missed. The rooms are small, but functional and the location (just south of Central Park) can't be beat!” Jul 18, 2009 by
Larry from Carson City,NV
“Smallest room I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world in all my life.” Jul 11, 2009 by
K from Oakdale,CA
“Cool hotel, great location. Rooms booked through Jul 10, 2009 by
lucy from Philadelphia,PA
“Fantastic hotel for a weekend stay in NY.” Jul 10, 2009 by
Lynn from Columbus,OH
“Had read about the size of rooms, but figured we weren't really going to be in them...They are so small we had trouble getting into our suitcase. My husband is 6'4" and had trouble in the bathroom because his legs hit the wall. We all thought it was funny(the first 3 days). Location is great, right near Columbus Circle. The staff is very friendly and super helpful. Would stay again for the great price.” Jul 5, 2009 by
Ariel from Ny,NY
“Very nice hotel, best look in town, very young and fashion style.” Jul 4, 2009 by
Alicia from New York,NY
“The rooms are incredibly small. We were upgraded 2x and still our room was hard to maneuver. There was construction on the floor above us, a loud club outside our window that went very late at night and there was hair in the bathtub. There are no amenities in the room. The staff was the best part of the experience, without their excellent service, I would have had a horrible experience.” Jul 3, 2009 by
Maciej from Elmhurst,IL
“There wasn't enough space to even open my luggage in the room. I was constantly hitting the suspended TV as I was getting out of bed. Took over two hours to get my bags and the doorman slammed the door when he wasn't tipped. I had to call down to front desk twice to get extra blankets. Very cramped and rude service.” Jul 3, 2009 by
Carlos from Netcong,NJ
“Very well located, near Columbus Circle and Central Park, only steps from most attractions in Manhattan. The Hotel is very nice, the room is small, but it is just what you need to stay in NY.” Jul 3, 2009 by
Josh from Seaford,DE
“Hotel is amazing. All hardwood floor and walls. Staff was very very pleasant-gave us an upgraded room for nothing. Thanks for a very nice result.” Jun 30, 2009 by
Gaby from Winthrop,MA
“I would recommend it to young people, who do not expect to be in their rooms longer than nighttime. Atmosphere is fun, however, staff is not enough to attend to the needs of customers.” Jun 25, 2009 by
Raymond from Los Angeles,CA
“Rooms are infamously small. Fine for one person, but really uncomfortable for two adults.”
