• The beauty of it's design, all of the well thought out touches. The bed felt luxurious and we enjoyed the walk in shower.

“Everything about this hotel has a sensuous look and luxurious feel. Right outside the door was the crossroads of the world, but inside you had an oasis of rest and calm. Great for recharging after a day of running about the city.”

• Very convenient to theatres, which was the purpose of our trip.
• Rooms are fairly small.

“This hotel is right in the middle of the theatre district, convenient to Times Square. The rooms are smallish, but very comfortable with large-size bathrooms. In spite of the noisy area, the rooms are quiet. The decor of the lobby area not on the ground floor, is a bit weird but okay, while the decor of the rooms is pleasant and masculine, good for business travelers.”

• Convenient to attractions, very clean, and excellent staff.
• Nothing.

“Close to subway, shopping, and entertainment. I was traveling with my 86 year old mother who enjoyed her visit immensely. Her reaction to the hotel was excellent.”

• The
  front desk was awesome with a lost item of mine.
• Nothing.

“Great place to stay. I have stayed at other locations in New York city and this ranks among the best. I accidentally left 2 expensive items in the safe and called back later that morning and front desk found the items and shipped them to me in Texas. This is the first time I have ever left something behind that was actually recovered for me at any hotel”

• Really liked the layout and the location. Bathroom and bed were exemplary.
• The television service was marginal and did not reflect it's surroundings.

• The location was great.
• Staff was less than helpful and they billed me twice.

“Room and location where great. Resturaunt view was amazing. Not a great value, but worth it asked for early checkin at 1pm, told no problem, get there and room not ready till 4pm! Then they charge me twice for the room. When

• Recently renovated and gorgeous! Great beds like sleeping on a cloud. Art Deco, European ambiance.
• Food overpriced and kids didn't like anything they ordered.(3 meals).

“Recently renovated, European-like, Art Deco feel. Felt like stepping into tranquility-warm and cozy ambiance. The beds were ultra comfortable and again, the décor was beautiful. I traveled with 4 children, and they loved it as well. The location can't be beat. The view from the dining room is the best view in Times Square- picture perfect!”

• Friendly staff, attractive decor, fabulous location!
• I can't think of a thing!

“After a nightmare hotel experience the night before, we were thrilled to arrive at the Renaissance!! The staff was very concerned that we be comfortable and have a good time. They arranged early check-in and took care of parking/luggage without any of the hassle that is sometimes there. The decor was very cool and the room was a pretty good size for a NYC hotel. Moreover, it was very nicely appointed and well arranged for comfort. We had a fabulous dinner at the hotel restaurant - stunning view of Times Square & great food & atmosphere as well! There again was wonderful, personal service! My children were ready to move in!!”

• The staff was incredibly courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable. Kudos to the concierge and his dinner recommendations.
• Loved everything about the hotel except for the heavy traffic in Times Square that made it difficult to get to the hotel by car.

“I didn't know what to expect from the Renaissance Hotel however after arriving, speaking to the staff, and seeing the room, I was most impressed. I would recommend the Renaissance Hotel to any and every traveler.”

• No restaurant /bar mid day.

“Staff gave me early check in. For NYC, good sized rooms, nice beds, nice baths. Great location. Good all around, and I have been in a lot of NYC hotels.”

• Very clean, modern amenities and great location.
• Staff was indifferent. If one does not say hello to them, they probably would not greet you on their own inititative.

“Great location, very clean and modern hotel. Rooms are typical New York size, but beds are very comfortable and have a good quality bedding. Would highly recommend this hotel as it serves its purpose; right in the middle of Times Square and easy accessibility to everthing. A person doesn't come to NYC to spend the entire trip in their hotel room -- but this hotel is perfect to come back to after a long day of sightseeing. Has great views too!”

• The location and décor.
• Check-in staff (only) is a little rude.

“The location of this hotel is amazing. "It is" the intersection of 42nd and Broadway in Times Square and across the street from the Minskoff where The Lion King plays. Regardless of the location of your room in the hotel, you have a view of Times Square. The decor is very art deco and beautiful. The price is well worth it!”

• The location was the best feature, especially for New Years.
• We knew the hotel was under construction and we had to wait to check-in longer than we wanted.

“Overall the hotel was in a great location for the Times Square New Year's festivities. They even had an area reserved for guests. The construction that was occurring in the lobby was a little inconvenient but the rooms were clean and comfortable.”

• The room decor was tasteful and open.

“The hotel is currently under reservations, which means the immediate appearance is not quite what you would expect. However, the new superior rooms make up for it. It would have been nice to know that there was construction underway, or to have at least been compensated for the fact. If you need or want a double room, this is not the hotel for you. In total they only have 20 double rooms in total that are given by preference to direct customers.”

• Novetel hotel (Not Renaissance) - very multi-cultural.
• Reservations were confused - requested (2) beds, got King.

“Perfect location - 3 blocks from Times Square, 3 blocks from Central Park. Easy access for subway. Nice, quiet lobby bar. Good security. Concierge gave inaccurate information regarding Broadway show - wasn't interested in being helpful.”

• Smack in the middle of Times Square.
• The need to take 2 different elevators to your room.

“The hotel is smack in the middle of Times Square. Very easy walking distance to just about everything. Surprisingly quiet at night, given the location. Very helpful doormen, bellhops, etc.”

“We paid lots of money and talked to them several times before coming there as it was my grandson's first visit to NYC and I Wanted it to be great. They promised us a view of the Hershey store. We got there, and our view was of a PETA sign. To make matters worse, the room only had one bed. I asked, "Where is my grandson going to sleep?" They brought in this run-down rollaway bed with springs literally poking through the bed. So much for making my grandson's first visit perfect! He couldn't sleep on the thing, it was so bad. The next night, after much badgering, they moved us. But that night they had a fire alarm go off and we all had to vacate - they never could locate the source of the alarm, so we were all uncomfortable about whether we should go back in. They never once said they were sorry for our miserable stay there nor did they offer to adjust our very large bill.”

• Always love the marble bathrooms. Enjoyed the friendly staff.
• Foley's prices - outrageous. Food - Nothing to write home about.

“I would definitely stay here again. I would not eat at the restaurant (Foley's) again. Olive Garden is steps away and the food and prices are wonderful.”

• Great Location
• Hard to get a room because it's always booked!

“This is a great hotel. If it is your first time in New York or if you come regularly as I do. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable of the area. The view from every-room I have ever had over the last 5 yrs. has been great. Hands down one of the best in NY. Location, Location, Location.....”

“It is great that the lobby is on the 2nd floor. The fish restaurant has a great view. The rooms are a little tacky in that the ceiling is a metal frame with asbestos type board. Otherwise it was fine.”
