- The hotel had a good elevator system that got you right to your floor without stopping at too many floors.
- The elevator system was usually overloaded during after show times in the pm which made travel back up to your room a lengthy wait.

“The Marriott Marquis Times Square is a well-maintained hotel in the heart of the theatre district. The lobby is spectacular with an atrium nearly 40 stories high and the elevators whisk you smoothly through the magnificent space. The staff (even the valet parking attendants) was helpful and friendly.”

- The lobby's location on the 8th floor is disconcerting, but understandable.
“This is a first-class hotel, with well-appointed, quiet rooms that permitted neither street noise nor noise from neighbors. The amenities were excellent: flat-screen TV, luxurious bed, clean and modern bathroom.”

- All facilities (including bars) close at 1 a.m. -- even on weekends.

- The rooms were very clean and up to date, beds comfy and, the location was perfect.
- There is no swimming pool.
“The hotel was perfect for the weekend we had planned. The service was great, the hotel was very nice inside. We didn't have a chance to visit any of the restaurant but they did appear to be very nice. We stayed on the 39th floor and I must say that the time on the elevators wasn't much at all. They were faster then any I had ever used before. Although we had a standard room we still had a view of Times Square. I would recommend a stay at this hotel to any of my friends or family. I know the next time we travel to NYC this is certainly where we'll be staying.”

“Being on the 26th floor in the heart of time square was an exhilarating experience for my 14 yr old and me. The bank of elevators with external key pad for floor entries and the atrium were a thrill for friends who visited us. But the line for the elevator for the view on the 48th floor were a tad too long.”

“Stayed at the 10th floor where the Hotel has placed very ugly nets to guard against objects being tossed down the atrium or to avoid suicidal attempts. The nets are so ugly that you feel you are in an Hotel under construction. Also the toilets were not working properly.”

- The location in Time Square was excellent.
- The noise from the lobby and restaurants could be heard in our room.

- The Lounge/View Restaurant is a MUST SEE at night.
- The elevator system is very cool but can be confusing to a newbie.
“My all time favorite hotel so far. In the past, I had liked The Crown Plaza in Time Square the best, but The Marriott Marquis was just incredible from top to bottom. I stayed for 2 nights and did not have enough time to see all of the inside of the hotel . . .I almost didnt want to come out of my room on the 42nd floor. it was just incredible!.”

“The Marriott Marquis is a nice hotel that is the closest location for Times Square. However, if you don't reserve a room that overlooks Times Square for new years eve you may as well stay some where cheaper because you will still have to wait 7 hours to see the ball drop. Security was complete with dogs sniffing and all types of police. Marriott soaks their guest for every thing-example on the Armoire in the room The two size waters were sitting on a wired pad.”

“Excellent hotel in a great location and the drive through makes it easy to get a cab. We had a huge room by any standards. The high tech elevator system assigns an elevator car by your floor is unlike any Ive seen, but when we realized that it helped alleviate the congestion in a mega size hotel, we decided it was worth it. If you want a times square hotel, this is a great choice.”

- Not crazy about the elevator system but it has improved since my last stay 2 years ago.
“This is a nice 4 * hotel in the heart of times square. The rooms are some of the largest I have stayed in NYC. If you want to be in the middle of times square this is the perfect location, close to subways at 42nd or 47th and with ample taxis as well. I have stayed at this hotel several times and they have updated to nicer linens. Beds are comfortable but not quite a "heavenly bed" like the Westin. Bathrooms are also good size. I don't usually eat at the hotel because there are so many other restaurant choices in close proximity that are better choices both price and quality. Now that the tickets booth has relocated to the alley behind the hotel there is a lot of congestion with queue lines of people. The elevators at this hotel have always in my opinion been a negative, because there has always been a long wait. Now they have changed the system to punching in your floor, at a designated station, which then assigns you an elevator to go to, which has cut down on the wait time, but if you decide after you are on that elevator that you want to stop at another floor you can not because there are no floor buttons to push inside the elevator. Other than this being somewhat of a negative it is improved. I would highly recommend this hotel for someone who is visiting NYC for the first time as it is convenient to all Broadway theatres, good restaurants and most tourist attractions, shopping etc.”

- No minibar though, extremely big, towels are rough, need better shampoos etc for a four star hotel.

- It was a nice surprise to get this hotel, not knowing exactly what we would get in the bid process.
- Everything was "ok".
“An excellent up scale facility. The only possible complaint is that it obviously caters to the business community (conventions) which made for a crowded lobby and elevators during our brief stay.”

- Very helpful friendly staff. Very clean and attractive. Free gym was great. We loved it.
- Some of the public areas could be updated.
“If you are visiting NYC, either for the first time or more, this is a great place. Staff is super helpful, hotel is very clean and comfortable, and you're at the center of everything or steps away from the subway if you want to be somewhere else quickly. Very nice.”

- Location, room and service all excellent.
- Only thing missing was an airport shuttle.
“I would highly recommend the Marriott marquis. The location can not be beaten, the rooms were outstanding and the staff was excellent. We obtained wonderful advice from the concierge regarding dining, where to visit etc. Overall, a wonderful experience.”

- Large rooms, excellent location, comfortable beds!
- Overnight car parking cost $60.00.
“Location, location, location, that says it all. However, this hotel also provides top service and amenities. Large rooms with comfortable beds and plush pillows. I called ahead and requested adjoining rooms because my wife and 3 teen-age boys were traveling with me, and the hotel made it happen! We all were totally satisfied. I highly recommend staying at this hotel!”
