“Great hotel for value. Great location, clean, and friendly staff.” Jul 13, 2009 by
Shannon from Lake City,FL
“The location is perfect. The room was nice. If it were just me and my husband it would have been fabulous! No roll away was offered even though available. A little disappointed.” Jun 23, 2009 by
Andrew from Berlin,MA
“This hotel was beyond my expectations for a 2 star hotel. The room was kind of small and European in nature. It might not appeal to many Americans but was perfect for me.” Jan 15, 2009 by
Elsa from San Juan,PR
“It is a clean bed at a reasonable cost in the heart of Times Square but other than that I would not recommend it to anyone.” Nov 14, 2008 by

“The Paramount is a good value in the severely overheated pricey NYC market. The lobby is very hip (neo-Goth, urban), ditto the lounge. The rooms, by contrast, are small.” Oct 14, 2008 by

“Would never stay here again, mold all over the ceilings to the point where the white ceiling was almost black from spores, old rusty doorknobs on the bathroom door, 19" Sep 26, 2008 by

“Do not stay here. Pay a little more for another place!” Sep 4, 2008 by

“Small room for a price. Never again!” Sep 4, 2008 by
Tara from Toronto, ON CA
“This hotel was not fit for a homeless person! It was filthy, disgusting. One of the staff members had event mentioned that they get more complaints than compliments. The shower did not work, not to mention the fact that is was dirty. The carpets were so filthy that I would not remove my shoes in the room. This hotel should be shut down & condemned for lack of cleanliness.” Aug 30, 2008 by
Daniel from Barrington, RI
“The Paramount hotel was nice however I was not satisfied with the room size. The room was the size of a walk in closet. It might have had a flat screen TV on the wall but it was so small that there was no place to even keep my luggage. On top of this there was an IPOD radio that did not work, a lamp that was broken, and there was an odd light in the room that would not turn off all night.” Aug 20, 2008 by
Margaret from Waterdown, ON CA
“The hotel was clearly outdated and so dimly lit it was depressing and difficult to navigate. The hotel staff was slow to serve. The room sizes were disgracefully small and the beds felt like packed cardboard. The AC made a constant hum and kept us awake and if I turned the AC off the room stunk and was stuffy because it was so small. I am extremely disappointed.” Aug 6, 2008 by
Nicole from Grayson, GA
“Overall we had a wonderful stay. The room was small (as expected for the middle of NYC) but very clean. The room itself seemed to have been recently remodeled but the bathroom fixtures were older and parts of the tub were chipped. There were no problems with water pressure or temperature. Our view was of scaffolding but there was no construction going on the two days of our stay. The room was very quiet given the Paramount's location in the middle of Times Square. The only strange occurrence during our stay was the banging noise right outside our room that went on from about 7am to 10:30am. When we went outside we saw there was a cleaning lady shoving items into a closet that backed our room and a service door that slammed loudly. When we asked her to quiet down a bit, she apologized telling us that she didn't know anyone was staying on the floor and that the rooms are usually empty. This was strange, but we thought that it may be due to the hotel's renovations. Best attribute of this hotel - the location can't be beat for a weekend getaway to NYC.” Aug 6, 2008 by
Ellyn from Hightstown, NJ
“Great location. Close to theaters & restaurants. Under renovation but no excuse for tiny bathrooms and poor air conditioning.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Faye from Conway, SC
“I am sure someone could make this a lovely hotel but the minute you walk in it needed more lightning. The furniture was mismatched and it was very dark and dreary. The bathroom in the lobby needed to be cleaned. The room was not very nice and the bed was on the floor. It did have two chairs and a table and the chairs were not comfortable. The hotel needs a lot of upkeep.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Danielle from King George, VA
“The hotel was in a great location but I thought the rooms were too small for two people. Maybe it was because they were going through renovation, not sure.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Tom from Basking Ridge, NJ
“Great location, small rooms but ok if you are mostly out and about.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Scott from Peabody, MA
“Convenient location. Cool upscale looking lobby. Average size room (tiny) for the price, but clean and fairly up to date.” Jul 27, 2008 by
David from Tampa, FL
“Hotel has a convenient location, but the rooms are small, ugly and not very romantic.” Jul 24, 2008 by
Catherine from Ft Campbell, KY
“The room is very small and the air-condition was not even turned on. The bed is on the floor and there is not much of a floor. The hallway was dirty and there is not fan in the bathroom. I would say that overall I would not pay to stay at this hotel again.” Jul 22, 2008 by
Beverly from Denville, NJ
“Overall, a surprisingly good experience considering it 2 star. I think it is better than that. The staff was very helpful and professional and the location is perfect for Broadway.” Jul 9, 2008 by
Christine from Fair Haven, VT
“Big people. Small world! Although we poked some fun at the size of the room, it absolutely met our needs, was clean and comfortable. We spend most of our time taking in the sights of NYC and use the room only to rest. The great location mattered most to us and the hotel's unique character won us over.” Jul 9, 2008 by
Phil from Orlando, FL
“If you are traveling solo the hotel is great. Because of the less than comfortable temperature of the lobby I can only imagine that the in-hotel restaurant tables which were in a loft of the lobby that the dining experience may be less than comfortable if you were wearing more than a t-shirt and shorts. I would stay there again but just expect to be unimpressed.” Jul 7, 2008 by
Jeff from Westlake, OH
“Yes, the room are small and a little old, but this hotel s all about location. This is a great location right by time square. Staff was very friendly.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Nancy from Phila, PA
“Good location but room needed renovation- old AC unit.” Jun 4, 2008 by
Rui from Logan, UT
“If you are young people and want to go everywhere by foot, this hotel is ideal. But if you and your family want to have a leisure vacation, maybe pay more money and choose another hotel.” Jun 1, 2008 by
Netta from Lebanon, VA
“Great location! Great beds, very comfortable. Rooms with a kind of 70's kitsch feel, very modern. Great service!” Dec 15, 2004 by
Joseph H. from Ocean City “Great location. Great staff and really nice lobby. Coffee shop was very clean and served food at a very reasonable cost. Rooms are very small and do need updating. Beds are best for people six feet tall and under.” Dec 15, 2004 by
Paula H. from Brea “The Hotel is in the perfect location in the heart of the Theatre District with great access to the subway. The Hotel was hip, trendy and fun. The staff was always ready, willing and able to help. This was a great experience.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 14, 2004 by
Dawn B. from Scottsville “I stayed at the Paramount at 235 W 46th Street from December 9-11, 2004. It was a dump. The hotel was sold over the summer after I booked the room. It was supposed to be a four star hotel but was barely a 1 1/2 star. The room was small even for NY. The heat did not work in my room. It only comes on every half hour or so for the building. (It's an old boiler system.) There was a draft through the window. There was no iron, coffee maker, cups, ice bucket or machines, no vending machines or dresser. The lights were extremely dim in the room.Towels were limited due to water. The room was dingy. This hotel should not have appeared on the 3 star listings in midtown west.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 11, 2004 by
“All in all the paramount was not a bad place to stay. The location was great, about a block off of time square, the Paramount Bar was very cool and cozy. I did use the complimentary fitness room which was nice and they did provide hand towels, ice water and fruit. If the comfort of the room matters this is not the best place. The rooms are very small, the beds are very hard, the pillows are very thin. We did hear horror stories of other NY hotels, so for the price I was pleased and it was tolerable for a long weekend.” Nov 11, 2004 by
“Tiny room without dresser or drawers to store clothing. Lobby left a lot to be desired. I would rate it a one star.” Nov 10, 2004 by
“The room was small but very clean. The only problem we had was the room was not ready at check in.” Oct 13, 2004 by
“Rooms too small and stuffy. No ice on floors. Noisy and other guests smoked too much.” Oct 5, 2004 by
Cynthia J. from Winston Salem, NC “The rooms at the Paramount Hotel are small. The beds are very low and close to the floor. This makes them very difficult to get off of for someone who has arthritis or similar issues. We arrived well past the 3PM check-in time and the room was still not ready. The doormen were very helpful. They provided lots of assistance in finding transportation within the city as well as to/from the airport. In addition, all the information/directions/suggestions for local stores to visit was very useful.” Oct 5, 2004 by
Elizabeth C. from Albuquerque, NM “The location was ideal. I was disappointed in the room size; it felt like we were camping out.” Oct 5, 2004 by
Angela G. from Springhill, FL “This was "SUPPOSED" to be a 3-star hotel - it was a 1-2 star at best. The room was terribly small, lacked ventilation in the bathroom, cleanliness, and the overall appearance was terrible!” Oct 5, 2004 by
Ritchie S. from Liverpool “The hotel was nice. A little old. Location is perfect if you want to be near Time Square. Staff were very nice. Rooms were small but clean.” Oct 4, 2004 by
Leilani A. from Rutherford “The public areas such as lobby and restaurant were great. The room was tiny - even for New York standards. While it was always clean and comfortable, it was much smaller than I expected.” Oct 3, 2004 by
Mary V. from Houston, TX “The bellboy service was not good at all. The hotel was dark. It was a Beetlejuice-theme hotel. Not a 4-star. Location was excellent!” Oct 2, 2004 by
Luann G. from Peoria, AZ “The location was where we wanted and expected; the people were friendly enough. The room was VERY small, no dressers to unpack suitcases, no counter space in bathroom to put anything. Very surprised this was a 4-star hotel.” Oct 2, 2004 by
Marjorie T. from Washington Dc, DC “The shower was either scorching or freezing - no control possible. The A/C was directly on the bed pillow. Otherwise, I loved it.” Sep 30, 2004 by
Jerry H. from Winnetka, CA “This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in! Even though the room was expectedly very small, it could have been furnished so much more efficiently. There was no place to put anything; no drawers, only a tiny nightstand (about 8inches wide). The tall cabinet took up considerable floor space. That space could have been used for a chest of drawers. We felt this was totally unnecessary in such a small hotel room. The bathroom, although its size was adequate was also appointed poorly. Strange shelving (very difficult to use), no towel bars, etc.” Sep 29, 2004 by
Ambrosio D. from Sun Valley, CA “The hotel was located at a really convenient location, close to all sorts of activities. Just a bit shocked to see how relatively small the room was.” Sep 29, 2004 by
Dennis C. from Cisco, TX “The Paramount Hotel is an excellent location for Broadway plays and sightseeing in NYC. The staff is friendly and the premises and rooms are clean. Our problem was the room was tiny. We had to shuffle our luggage around to get in the tiny closet and to open the door to the room. If you are only staying a night or two then you probably wouldn't have as much luggage as we had for 6 nights.” Sep 29, 2004 by
Eileen B. from Falls Church, VA “The Paramount has a modern European feel. It is very clean and the staff members are exceptional. The only problem is that the hotel will be under new management soon and will be a Hard Rock hotel. I am sure that the prices will skyrocket.”
