“Nice Hotel overall. Close to popular tourist spots (Times Sq, Empire state 3 blocks away, etc). Green subway only 3 blocks away, blue and yellow are only a bit farther. Central location for trips to downtown and uptown. Will definitely stay there again on a return trip because I'd rather spend money shopping and doing things in town than sleeping on it.” Oct 19, 2006 by
Erica from Lafayette, CO
“I would never recommend this hotel. Initially we thought the place would have "old world" charm being 100 years old. But the hotel hasn't been updated in 100 years. The rooms are dark, dank and they smell, specifically of stale cigarettes. This hotel needs some serious upgrading. My windows had tape all along the sides, the bedspread looked to be at least 30 years old and my bathroom didn't have a towel rack anywhere. ” May 14, 2006 by
Eric from San Francisco, CA
“Very rude staff, and the rooms suggest you are staying in a halfway house, not a hotel. The smell of cigarette smoke and fried food was disgusting. While the location is convenient, this hotel should not be offered to anyone other than the budget traveler And at $180 a night, it hardly qualifies for that, either. This stay was disappointing.” May 3, 2006 by
George from Sugar Land, TX
“No doorman or bell man help. Only one small elevator. Very run down. Room smelled. I forfeited my 2 day rent and went elsewhere.” Apr 17, 2006 by
Gary from Chattanooga, TN
“After they switched me from the 12th floor to a decent room 3 floors down it was okay.” Apr 16, 2006 by
William from Elsmere, KY
“1oo + year old hotel in midtown Manhattan, easy access to everything. Courteous, helpful staff and concierge's). Awesome pizza joint around the corner and best bagel shop one block up.” Mar 26, 2006 by
Michael from Port St. Lucie, FL
“There were no linens for the pullout bed. No adjustment for the heat. View was bad. Rooms were small. On the positive side the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was full size. Having two TV's was nice. The continental breakfast had a minimal selection. I would not go there again.” Hotel Representatives:
